as I prepare for graduation (jazz music major), I'm realizing how unfair the world is towards artists and becomes more abusive if the artist is of a marginalized people. Why can't people just understand that, sometimes, a job is a job and just because you're an actor or musician, doesn't mean you are being creatively fulfilled at every turn? We live under the oppressive and unjust system of imperialist capitalism and we have to pay the bills just like everyone else. So, fuck off. Artists shouldn't be villianized for advocating for themselves and their communities.

I have in fact seen it. I was actually crafting a response on my main but I’ll post it here.

Uhhh….oooh…okay.

So yes some tea was spilt at Jada and Will. Jane Hubert aka Aunt Viv (the real one) brought up some legit good points about both of them.

But first off the thing that I’ve been hating for what feels like DECADES. “People are dying, our boys are getting shot”

WHAT FUCK ABOUT OUR GIRLS??? LIKE OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Now I know some of yall are going like “it’s not that deep” “she didn’t mean nothing by it”

It is that deep and even if she didn’t mean anything by it, it’s still a problem that a lot of us (BLACK PEOPLE) seem to not wanna talk about. Apparently we hate out black women and girls. Apparently we hate the founders of the BLM movement. Well actually not apparently. We. We really do. And when I say we I mostly mean our men.

You forget about our girls our women trans or cis. The boys and men get MLK style Marches while our women are lucky  if they get 100 people. And that’s just our cis women. Don’t even get me started. Trans women are lucky if we get a footnote. A footnote.

Now onto the boycott. It’s cool she called them out on their supposed fuckery. I say supposed because I have no idea what happened. But it really rubbed me the wrong way when she said like there are more important things. Okay, but this is important too and you can be focused on more than one thing at a time. It’s like when people say women in America should be focused on xyz instead of abc. It’s ridiculous.
