Southern Asia 72 years ago today: Independence of Burma (04 Jan 1948) https://buff.ly/39CKHX8 The British departure from India in 1947 made their remaining colonies in South Asia redundant. Burma—which had been making increasing demands for independence since their occupation by Japan in World War II—became an independent republic in early 1948, followed shortly by Ceylon. #1940s #1948 #20thcentury #january #burma #carta #cartography #geopolitics #historia #historicalplace #historisch #historygeek #historymatters #historyteacher #hyderabad #india #britishempire #january4 #myanmar #mapa #maps #modernhistory #pakistan #imperialism #southernasia #southasia #colonialism #todayinhistory #historytoday #thisdayinhistory (at Yangon, Myanmar) https://www.instagram.com/p/B64_Qn0APpY/?igshid=vt9pmnhshkoe

Santa Fe and Sedona were pure magic 💫 And not just because of the gorgeous geography, palpable spirituality, and amazing opportunities to explore Mother Nature. But also because this winter break, I took a moment for myself by limiting my time on social media and living in the present with those who matter most-my family, including all 3 of our dogs! It felt so good to live in the present, and enjoy time with my baes. ❤️ And this is what I want more of in 2023-connection, not only to others, but to myself. And since the end of 2022, I have been meditating everyday, even if it’s only for a few minutes. I am determined to nurture the relationship that matters most in my life-with myself, so then I can offer the best of me to those I love around me. Stay tuned for more updates on that! I know it’s not going to be perfect all of the time, but as my 8 year old daughter reminds me “practice makes progress.” And that I am going to keep close this year ❤️ How is your 2023 going so far? #2023 #newyear #january4 #meditation #spirituality #santafe #sedona #skiing #travel #redcarpettravel #redcarpetroxy #roxymanning #ootd #practicemakesprogress #family #themannings #khandashians #moms #daughters #thenorthface #janessaleone #aotd #ski (at Santa Fe, New Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnATkeAPwf7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
NOEL ELICANA'S ENLIGHTENMENT
They say save the best for last.
Our whole day tax affair ended with art. Like an oasis in a desert, this grand masterpiece of Noel Elicana, nestled on a wall at the busy Iloilo City Hall's main lobby, soulfully nourished our weary bodies.
