Being A Seamstress Who Falls For Jaskier Would Include
You meet Jaskier when he stumbles into your shop, needing his vest repaired after one of his misadventures with some girl’s jealous ex. His charm captivates you from the start, but you’re hesitant, and initially think he’s just another overly flirtatious bard.
After visiting your shop a few times, Jaskier notices your skill and begins weaving metaphors about your craftsmanship into his songs. You catch him humming one such tune, and it makes your heart flutter.
As Jaskier becomes a regular customer, he starts requesting custom outfits for performances, bringing out your creativity. He trusts your vision, praising how your designs help him command attention on stage.
You notice Jaskier finding more reasons to linger in your shop, even when he doesn’t need anything repaired or made. He playfully teases you, but there’s always a softness in his eyes when he does.
One evening, after a particularly rough day, Jaskier seeks refuge in your shop. He drops his usual bravado, revealing a more vulnerable side. You comfort him, and the bond between you grows deeper.
Jaskier starts bringing you rare and beautiful fabrics from his travels as gifts. He insists they’re for your work, but you suspect they’re really a way for him to show his affection.
You admire Jaskier’s boldness and the way he expresses himself through music, while he’s in awe of how your delicate stitches create masterpieces. Both of you recognize and appreciate each other’s art forms.
Eventually, Jaskier invites you to accompany him on the road, promising to serenade you during long travels. You find yourself stitching his torn outfits while sitting by a campfire, with Jaskier always nearby with a song to accompany your work.
The two of you often exchange witty banter, with Jaskier teasing you about your more “serious” nature while you roll your eyes at his flirtatious quips. But beneath the teasing, there’s undeniable chemistry.
One day, during a crowded tavern performance, Jaskier surprises you with a song dedicated to “the finest seamstress in all the continent,” full of heartfelt lyrics that make you blush. That’s when you realize just how much he truly cares for you.
I love it when Jaskier is able to save Geralt, whether that be by sheer dumb luck and some guts or by immense skill like with people. Just anytime they both save the other is such a good time in my opinion.
How do you feel about it? Are you a Jaskier is the only damsel in distress or do you like them to switch off being the damsel in distress?
*Asks are sent for fun, no pressure to answer.
Oh gods, I LOVE competent/feral Jaskier, you have no idea.
I just think that there's so much potential for hilarious moments to ensue whenever someone makes Jaskier a little more dangerous than you expect him to be.
I think it's much more realistic to have Jaskier actually be able to defend himself from danger, seeing as he does travel across the continent on his own sometimes. Add in the experience he gets over the years from traveling with Geralt and you have a Bard that actually knows how to fight.
I take a lot of joy picturing Geralts disgruntled but reluctanty flustered face whenever Jaskier comes to his rescue or the small pleased smile he can't fight down whenever he sees Jaskier give back as good as he gets in a fight, surprising everyone around him because they assumed the Bard dressed in fancy clothing to be all talk with no real skill and Jaskier just flattened them.
Jaskier's face whenever he notices Geralts reaction is all smug and pleased, he can't help making some quips about it or sauntering up to Geralt, teasingly asking him if he liked the show, feeling even more pleased when Geralts face turns red in a deep blush that surprises both of them.
So here are my headcanons, because I refuse to believe that our ball of sunshine has an expiration date...
So, I know Lauren said that Jaskier not aging in the show was just a filming mistake, something they simply forgot to do and on a completely logical level I am fully aware that in canon Jaskier is completely human, 100%. And I also know that they're not gonna change it, no matter how much some of us may wish they did (Although why not? They already strayed so far from the books and made so many changes, might as well go the extra mile)
Realistic-ish headcanons:
- Jaskier is part elf, perhaps quarter elf like Yennefer, it is an entirely justifiable headcanon, theoretically, Jaskier's human father could have married a half elf commoner woman (who may or may not have had the pointy tips on her ears cut off with a knife to avoid human prejudice)
- Jaskier has a fae ancestor, somewhere many many generations back in his ancestry, so his entire family is suspiciously long lived but nobody cares because Lettenhove isn't politically important and therefore doesn't catch the attention of the prejudiced Nobles farther up the royal court chain.
- Jaskier unintentionally drinks the same elixir mages/sorcerers drink to prolong their life. I read that chaos wielders don't have naturally long lifespans, they semi-regularly drink an elixir with mandrake roots in it to slow the aging process. According to Witcher Wiki, you can only buy mandrake root in Lindenvale and my headcanon is that Jaskier experiments with many different tea blends to see which one is more effective for soothing his throat after singing. So at the age of 29-30, he wanders into Lindenvale and buys some dried mandrake to make a tea, after one sip he felt more rejuvenated than ever and since that day, mandrake root tea has become his number one go-to, he drinks it as often as he can.
More fanfic centric, less canon possible headcanons:
- Jaskier is a Dryad. (Yayyy trans Jaskier headcanon) Since Lettenhove is so tiny, it isn't even on the Witcher continent map, but a simple Google search says that it is Located somewhere in Kerack. Kerack borders with Brokilon, so it's kind of a nifty little loophole for fanfic writers to use and place Lettenhove somewhere near the forests where Dryads live.
And while most Dryads treat any man that enters their realm as a mere sperm donor, Witcher Wiki does also mention that some Dryads can form emotional relationships and fall in love with humans and/or elves, but in the end, all Dryad born offspring is AFAB. So imagine this, Jaskier's father falls in love with a Dryad, she falls in love with him, they have Jaskier, Jaskier notices early on that he feels like a boy and his rich Viscount father hires a mage to help Jaskier transition early.
- Jaskier is a higher vampire, higher vampires are a HIGHLY secretive society, even in canon, part of the reason why even Witchers have so little information about them is because they prefer to hide in plain sight and are ridiculously good at it. Jaskier doesn't age, has no self-preservation instincts, doesn't buy a horse and yet still keeps up with Geralt on foot for 20 years. Jaskier's personality isn't fake, he doesn't act like someone else, it's all him, but his clumsiness is a little bit of an act, he also purposefully avoids physical fights, it comes across as fear of getting hurt but in reality it's because he's afraid of appearing too strong and exposing himself. Lettenhove doesn't appear on maps, because it doesn't exist legally, it's just a castle hidden in the woods, a safe place for higher vampires, kinda like Kaer Morhen is for Witchers, Jaskier's parents just happen to be the ones who run it.

・It had all started at a tavern in Ketterdam.
・Jaskier had found his way into the bustling yet, so obviously criminal city.
・He thought he was used to affronted citizens, as he’s played in very dingy places. But Ketterdam was different. And he didn’t realise that everyone was hiding at least one deadly secret
・You had found him pushed up against a wall. His instrument a crumpled, cracked mess on the ground.
・ “Oi, piss off,” you shouted, unsheathing the dagger from your boot
“And why would I do that?” the gruff man dropped the bard and turned to face you. A deep scar had nearly cut the man’s face in two.
“Because I said so.” You knew too well that men like this wouldn’t leave. Not without good reason.
・So you had thrown your dagger straight into his thigh, and unleashed another into his arm.
“Now, piss. Off.”
・The man screeched in pain but did as he was told. And in an instant, you bended your hands in a movement that you had practiced well.
・The daggers flew out of the main and back into your open hands.
・ “Was that really necessary?” Jaskier had panted, his eyes wide.
“That’s a weird way to say thank you,” you replied, turning on your heel to walk off.
・Ever since that moment, Jaskier had been by your side
・You introduced him to the Crow Club, Kaz disliking him instantly
・ “I don’t need another idiot in my employment,” he grumbled one rainy night.
“Aw, don’t be like that Kaz,” you replied, throwing a shit-eating grin towards Jesper
・You and Jesper had grown instantly fond of each other as soon as you met
・You both had this enigma about you. A charm ... a presence.
・Jesper’s magnetism was hard to fight. And your crush on him had grown with each moment you were together
・But little did you know, your heart was making room for another
・Jaskier had found the Crow Club interesting, and he liked the Found Family dynamic. He wanted that for himself. Although he never wanted to admit it.
・Jaskier and Jesper were a flurry of wit whenever they were together
・Always trying to one-up the other
・You liked to sit back and watch them squabble
・One night you heard Jaskier singing about a gun-slinging ass whose head was too big
・Inej caught on to Jesper and Jaskier’s feelings
・So did Kaz, but he couldn’t care less. Matters of the heart meant nothing to him (👀)
・Jaskier would ask Inej for every little bit of information about you (favourite flowers, food, etc)
・And she told him, but would also push Jesper to talk to you about his feelings as well. She thought she was evening the playing field
・At first you thought you knew who you wanted. Jesper and you had history, you relied on each other during jobs.
・But Jaskier was so lively and creative. He was realiable and thought of you before himself
・Jesper’s impulsivity was a big issue
・So you didn’t pursue either of them, and would deny their advances
・Jesper tried to show you that he could be trusted, especially with money. That he wouldn’t gamble it away
・And you were still trying to get to know Jaskier as a person, as a potential member of the Crow Club
・It was messy and you constantly went to Inej for advice
・But at the end of the day ... it’s your choice...
・Who do you want? Jesper, with his charm, his humour. His ability to make you smile.
・Or do you want Jaskier, whose light-hearted and adventurous. He remembers everything about you and he’s reliable...
・The choice is yours alone

I do think it would be absolutely hilarious if Jaskier, Ciri, Geralt, and Yen were traveling and they were passing by Lettenhove, so might as well stay there.
And then they just arrive, and Jaskier's father is there and he's welcoming and very caring of his son. But slowly as the week goes by, everyone in the traveling party realizes that Jaskier's father and Geralt are actually quite alike.
And it's just internal screaming for Jaskier at that point.

Let’s be real for a minute here, Jaskier would be both the best and the stupidest dad ever I love him so much. Honestly, I feel like he would excel as a father, no matter how little people’s opinions of him being one are, just because he would always try so hard to make sure his child his safe and happy in this world he knows is scary and uncertain.
The FIRST person he goes and tells as soon as he hears that you’re pregnant is, of course, the White Wolf himself. He comes literally busting in through the doors of Kaer Morhen, nearly jumping out of his boots as he hops over to a very disgruntled looking Geralt, whose trying to use his hand to hide his head from the other laughing Wolves. Jaskier pays no notice, instead shaking the snow off his shoulders and sliding down on the bench next to his best friend, whose finally turned to grimace at him with a pained smile.
‘Geralt, you old goat!’, he starts, slapping a hand fondly against his shoulder and wincing as he tries to shake the pain of striking leather out from his finger tips. ‘Don’t look so glum! I’ve come here with great news - brilliant even- no the best!’, he starts up again, mouth racing a mile a minute.
‘Could you not have, hmph, you know. Sent a letter?’ Geralt starts as he takes another bite out of his bread.
‘No, this one I wanted to tell you in person!’ Jaskier stands up all of a sudden, taking a deep breath and making even Geralt drop his food back onto the table and turn to look at the bard (who had begun to go slightly red in the face). You’re going to be an uncle! Hah, can you believe it! Another member to add to the family! I’m so excited I can hardly sit still!’
Geralt just let out this loud ‘hmmm’ and then just fixed his gaze on the far off wall in the corner of the imposing vestibule. Jaskier spent a lot of the afternoon waving his hand in front of his friend’s glazed eyes, or shaking his shoulders back and forth. In the end Lambert just shepherded him away and left Geralt sitting stock still in the hall all night.
AWwwWW and when the baby is born, you can bet your bottom that Jaskier is the kind of dad to not sleep a wink for the first couple of weeks. Firstly, and his main concern, has always been you and making sure that you’re getting enough rest. But oh, how he loves to step by the crib on a quiet night, reaching down in the warm lake of moonlight to grab his crying daughter. He holds her to his bare chest, humming a new song and cradling her back and forth against his bicep, running his finger tip so carefully down her cheek he feels he might break into a million pieces.
You’ve often woken up to find Jaskier sprawled out asleep. One arm rests over the crib, chest rising and falling with his snores and warbling the fringes of his hair up and down like a wave. His knuckles are gently touching the edges of her face, because he can’t bear to be apart from his daughter for one millisecond.
He wants his daughter to be proud of him!!! As soon as she becomes old enough, Jaskier takes her out into the cities, holding her hand tightly within his larger, warmer ones as he leads her down the cobblestone streets and into the busy markets of the town squares. Placing his feather cap on her head with a grin and a wink, he waves round a crowd and begins to sing his praises of old. Although, of course, he’s a man full of drama and showmanship, he ALWAYS ends up dancing away from the crowds with a twirl of his leather jacket to crouch back down and sing solely to his daughter.
Mmm can you just imagine?? Summer days at your cottage, the warm light bathing your skin as you peer out the thatched door and down the garden to your husband. Past the herbs, and the chickens, and the row of dandelions, sits Jaskier with your daughter in his lap. The snapdragons tickle his feet, wild flowers freckling the green behind his head. He’s giggling into the wind, each horrendous snap of his daughter’s hands against the lute he’s resting on his thighs sending him into another fit.
When you plop down onto the crunchy soil beside him, he reaches out and immediately grabs your hand so tightly you fear he’s cut off circulation to your fingers. He turns to smile at you with the widest, heartfelt, soul crushing eyes - full to the brim of water as if he’s on the brink of tears, he’s so proud and overjoyed and just-. He never, ever thought that someone could pierce his heart this way. That he could ever be loved so hard, so all encompassing, so enrapturing. And to have it happen twice?? He almost can’t bear it. He feels it pressing on his soul until sometimes the words get stuck in his throat and he feels he can’t breathe.
But then his daughter brings him back to the world again, until a cherished beam lights up his tired face. Reaching up with grabby hands, he flops down onto the ground next to her and allows his daughter to weave daisies through his growing hair.
The next day, when he’s due to perform for the nearby travellers, he ignores the snickering of the dwarves bemused eye raises of the elves as he sings with a full flower crown on top of his head, overjoyed on the oaken stage.
He’s also the type of dad to have a quill out and at the ready at all times. He furiously scribbles and awwwws any time his child does anything because he feels the need to document it all down, with the poet and minstrel instinct and all. (Eventually, when his daughter has grown and ventured out into the wild world, he’ll flip through these pages and try to stop himself from crying.)
One time you come home and find the entire place - floorboards, rafters, beds, tables, fireplace, even the windowsills - coated in a thick layer of flour. When you finally manage to find where Jaskier is hiding behind the velvet arras, you learn that Jaskier had managed to enlist the help of Geralt, Lambert and Eskel to try and cook his family dinner. But since no one on team no brain cells knows how to cook, they tried to heat? the flour? on the stove? for no reason??? Even though it exploded everywhere, the look on their startled, caked faces when they came falling out from behind the bedroom door, behind the bed and through the window was enough to make you forgive their honest attempt.
Although Jaskier is mostly a light hearted, suave and tongue in cheek man, he’s fiercely protective as a father. No more Mr. Nice Jaskier when danger comes lurking. While the three of you are up visiting Uncle Geralt at Kaer Morhen, if there’s any chance of danger haunting the keep Jaskier goes into survival mode. He leads the two of you down to the safest room he can find, sitting with you tightly by his side and stroking his daughter’s hair to try and calm her down. He’s so jumpy, ready to fight at any sudden noise until the day breaks through the window slit.
As well as writing songs, I think he’d be quite a sentimental dad as well. I feel like he’d collect little trinkets from every town he visits. Just small things, like a dragon scale from the mountain top, an acorn from Caed Dhu, or a wyvern feather from one of his escapades with the Witchers. When he gets back home, his daughter is always waiting for him to come sit by the fire and tell his exaggerated tales of where he won or found his newest ornament.
He always winks at you with a humorous side smile as you shake your head at his tall tales.
To be completely honest, sometimes you do have to kick his shin to stop his innuendoes from slipping out his running mouth. He can be so childlike in spirit, wild and free, which can be both brilliant and a cause for caution. But he’s trying, he really really is. And he always will, for the rest of his days. He loves you both so much I can’t he really just wants to do everything in his power to make the two of you happy both in the present, and when he makes sure the two of you are both rooted within his legend.
He’s going to make sure the world never forgets how the two of you are the most miraculous, sublime, and exalted beings to ever exist.
Being childhood friends to lovers with Jaskier would involve
I have finally gotten around to writing this request. Thank you so much to the anon for sending in my first request. I have just finished rewatching The Witcher so I could finally write this for you. I wanted to write this before I go to sleep tonight and post it for you so you don’t have to wait any longer.
You and Jaskier had known each other since you were very young.
Your families were very close.
You and Jaskier are very close to each other in age so you grew up together.
Jaskier was very protective of you. He would always stand up for you, when anyone tried to hurt you.
Basically being inseparable.
Even when you had were all grown up, you were still inseparable.
Being travel companions and never leaving each other’s sides.
Wherever Jaskier goes so do you, and vice versa.
Jaskier can always tell when something is wrong with you. He always knows when you’re upset.
He will always ask you what’s wrong but sometimes you just don’t want to tell him. It takes him getting on his knees and literally begging you to tell him for you to cave.
He will hug you and tell you that everything will be ok before kissing your cheek.
He will then proceed to play his lute and sing for you to put a smile back on your face, which doesn’t take too long.
Jaskier can often come across as quite flirtatious even when he doesn’t mean to be, so seeing him being all flirty with other women you come across on your travels makes you jealous.
You had fallen in love with Jaskier a long time ago but you could never tell him in fear that it would ruin your friendship.
So you just had to sit by and watch him flirt with women that you wish was you.
When you meet Geralt you become friends with him too.
Geralt can see how much you like Jaskier and he tries to convince you all the time to tell Jaskier how you feel.
However you keep refusing.
Geralt eventually tells Jaskier the truth when he realises you never will.
You get mad at Geralt at first, but he tells you he never did it to make you mad, he told Jaskier because he wanted the two of you to be happy, but he could also tell that Jaskier was also in love with you, but he too didn’t have the courage to tell you, so Geralt felt that he had no choice but to help the two of you realise the others feelings.
Jaskier walked up to you and gathered up the courage to kiss you.
He then proceeded to tell you just how much he truly loved you, and that he wished he could have told you himself, but he was extremely glad that Geralt did because if it wasn’t for him, then he might not have been able to do it himself.
Jaskier promises to protect you, and love you for the rest of your lives.
The two of you were already inseparable but when the two of you finally become a couple, you become even closer than before.
Holding hands while travelling
Or Jaskier giving you a piggyback ride when you get tired.
Sleeping in each other’s arms.
Forehead kisses.
He constantly whispers in your ear either how much he loves you, or how long he wished for this moment to happen.
When it comes to love making he loves to make sure it’s slow and passionate. He wants the both of you to enjoy the moment and not to rush.
He worships your body.
Kisses literally everywhere.
Even though the both of you know that the world is an extremely dangerous place to bring up a child, the both of you end up starting your own family. You know that having Geralt as a friend means that your baby would be safe because you know he wouldn’t let anything bad happen your baby. Despite him getting annoyed with you and Jaskier from time to time, he does truly care about you and your child because he truly is your friend.
