The Amityville Horror 🦟
Ronald Joseph DeFeo Jr has died in prison today,after being found guilty of killing his father,mother,two brothers and two sisters in Amityville,Long Island New York on November 21,1975.
His case inspired a book and several movies versions of The Amityville Horror.
I remember reading the book in 8th grade,after finishing the book,sticking it in a plastic bin (with other books) up in the attic and not being able to sleep for a few weeks afterwards.
It's still in the attic,moved it in between other books into a newer bin.
I think it took less time to get back to my normal sleeping habits,after begging my parents to go see The Omen (original with Gregory Peck) 🙄.
I have never touched The Amityville Horror book since 1978 and will never open that damn book EVER again.
The book's 1979 film adaptation became the highest grossing independent film of all time and held onto that record until 1990.
