I love little moments before Regulus and James have met. The casual things James says...
“Ugh, a lion and a snake.” James threw down his Chocolate Frog cards. “I don’t get it, what does she see in him?”
“And you have known Lily how long?” Remus asked.
“Like a week! But it’s a loyalty thing. She’s a Gryffindor, he’s a Slytherin. The two, they don’t mix.” James was gesturing animatedly with his hands to articulate the importance of this point.
And...
“It’s Regulus,” Sirius said. “He’s not doing well at home.”
“From what you’ve said about the house and your parents, the sooner he gets out of there the better,” said James, spooning eggs onto his plate. “I mean, no offense, macha, but your parents sound like right dingbats.”
