DS9 S3 E6 - The Abandoned (Another bit of me binging while I tried to feel better)

My thoughts on this episode were that it was fairly decent though I found myself comparing it to "I, Borg" a lot, which I think did impact my overall "rating" of it. I'm not denying that I was a good episode to watch and there were some interesting parts all around but I kept wanting it to have a similar meaning/weight and it never delivered.

I really enjoyed Quark buying a baby unknowingly and the way he reacted was entertaining. I also enjoyed Sisko cooing over the baby when he first saw it, plus Jadzia reminding him that babies aren't just the cute stuff made me laugh.

Odo getting a room upgrade was a nice touch and I thought it was super adorable the way he put Kira's plant in the bucket he no longer needs.

The age difference between Jake and his girlfriend though gave me major ick. And any time the Jem'hadar kid was on screen it felt like I was bashing my head against a wall.

DS9 S3 E7 - Civil Defense

This one was another one for the shippers lmao

Locking Odo and Quark together? AND locking Garak and Bashir together (even if Garak shows up later)? Definitely one for the shippers.

Once again, I adore Jake's character so much, he's grown a ton since the beginning and each time he's in an episode I know his parts are going to be well played and impactful. The fact that he was willing to risk himself for Miles? And the "if you don't tell, I won't" little joke to ease the tension was fun.

Garak and Bashir weren't on screen much, at least together, but it was all flirting from where I sat. And I need more of this. lol

The Odo/Quark banter is always some of my favorite moments but as they were walking away and Odo was roasting Quark, I was actually laughing at how scandalized Quark sounded.

My favorite moment, though, I think was Dukat realized that he played himself by coming aboard the station. He tried to gain an upper hand only to fuck himself over. Beautiful karma.

6.5/10 - the episode was a fun ride from start to finish, kinda meh in story but definitely fun to watch
