Daisy crosses her arms and glares at the woman she’d give up everything for; at least, before time travel and computer-generated worlds became part of their reality.
“But you did and that’s what you’re not understanding,” replies Daisy firmly.
It’s hard to say these words but they need to be said.
Jemma flinches.
“You’ve always known how much I care about you but you only noticed when it’s useful.”
Squeezing her hand into a ball, Jemma keeps silent.
Daisy closes her eyes then sighs.
“I need to get out of here for a while.”
Opening her eyes and dropping her arms, Daisy turns around quickly so she doesn’t have to look at Jemma; her heart can’t take seeing the hurt on her face that she caused which is the whole crux of the matter.
She’d go crawling back and apologize if she looked at her.
Jemma watches Daisy leave her behind.
It’s at that moment she realizes the true value of what’s she lost causing her to sink to her knees as she struggles to breath.
“Oh, Jemma. What have you done?”
Tears slowly roll down her cheeks as she stares at the doorway.
Jemma rolls her eyes fondly as Trip reaches out to grab her hand then pulls her back onto the bed but she allows it.
“Don’t be such a baby,” she replies.
He pouts at her response.
“Why are men such babies when they get sick?” she asks rhetorically.
Next time there’s a Ladies’ Night and knowing Daisy, there will be one…she’ll need to bring this question up. Maybe one of the other ladies will have some insight she’s missing.
Trip pulls her closer and places his face in the space between her shoulder and neck.
“You’re all the medicine I need, babe,” he comments.
She finds herself unable to resist smiling as cheesy as his comment was.
“You know, it’s a good thing I love you,” she says softly.
“I know and I’m grateful for that fact every day,” he replies just as soft.
Okay, so maybe she can put off going to the store to get soup, ginger ale and medicine for him because rest is important to recovery and he’s finally resting.
She could also use a nap so really; she’s killing two birds with one stone.
Kissing her neck, Trip grins at his success.

“When we get back to thebase, I’m gonna kill Hunter. This is all his fault and he’ll have to suffer theconsequences,” mutters Bobbi angrily.
Jemma keeps an eye on her incase her blood pressure rises too high.
Hiking several milesthrough the woods because their ride abandoned them because of a fire fight isn’tsomething Jemma particularly enjoys; however, the company couldn’t be betterand if she has to be stuck with someone on this hide, there’s no one betterthan Bobbi. Though, May makes for a strong second choice.
So far, their hike to thenew pick up location hasn’t been too terrible, minus worrying over Bobbi’sblood pressure but that’s something Jemma can handle.
She really should haveknocked on wood.
“Are you kidding me? Is itreally starting to rain?” questions Bobbi as she stares up at the sky.
Jemma really can’t help herself;she chuckles at Bobbi’s behavior.
“A little drizzle never hurtanyone though should the drizzle change into something harder then we’ll needto find some shelter in order to wait it out,” comments Jemma.
Bobbi snorts.
“If that happens, I’mholding you personally responsible,” she states.
Jemma playfully rolls hereyes.
“If that happens, I’ll keep you warm.”
This gets a bright smileand an improved mood from Bobbi.
As if on cue, the rainstarts falling harder causing the two women to run beneath the trees to avoidthe falling water. They still have several miles to go until they reach the rendezvous point.
They’rein luck, stumbling onto an abandoned cabin.
“We’llbe able to dry out and wait the storm out here then make our way to where weneed to meet the others,” comments Bobbi.
Asmuch as Jemma’s opposed to breaking in and entering into a stranger’s cabin, herpractical side comes out and she knows this is better than being out in therain where one or both of them could fall deathly ill and or get injuredsomehow.
Bobbigets the fire going while Jemma looks for towels or something they could use todry off with.
Turningaround, Jemma freezes.
Bobbi’sin the middle of stripping down to her undergarments – shirt is off and she’sworking on her pants.
“Uh,wh-wh-what are you doing?” asks Jemma.
Bobbismirks.
“Weneed to get dry and dry our clothes and it’s easier to that when we’re not inthem. Besides, you said you’d keep me warm so...Come on, Jem. You don’t want tocatch a cold, now do you?”
Blushingslightly, Jemma never thought this would be happen but here she is, about to besemi-naked with her crush. Daisy can never find out because she’d never let herlive it down.
Jemmafollows Bobbi’s lead and removes her top, followed by her pants.
Theyhang their clothes on an improvised rack near the fire.
Bobbitugs Jemma down next to her on the rug in front of the fire place so they canfeel the heat of the fire to warm up.
“Ido have to say; this is less embarrassing than if I were stuck with someonelike Fitz or Coulson. I’d probably never be able to look Coulson in the eyeagain,” comments Jemma offhandedly.
“I’mhappy that I’m with you here too,” replies Bobbi.
Bringingher hand up to Jemma’s face, Bobbi wipes some of her hair out of her face thenstrokes her cheek gently with her thumb. Then she wraps her arm around Jemma’swaist and pulls her with her as Bobbi lays down backwards on the carpet.
Fora while, they simply lay there and listen to the rain hit the roof.
ThenBobbi’s phone goes off as the rain stops causing both women to groan.
“Guessthat’s our cue to get dressed and make our way to the meeting point,” comments Bobbi.
Bitingher lip, Jemma considers an idea.
“Wecould continue this later….in my room and on a comfortable bed,” she suggestshopefully.
Bobbigrins.
“Thisis why you’re the genius. Now, if there’s only something we can do to keepHunter from finding out and bugging us,” Bobbi responds.
“Payand or bribe Daisy to keep his distracted?”
“She’dhave the easiest time doing that, out of everyone.”
Jemmaraises an eyebrow at that.
“Youknow something. I’m not asking. You know something, Bobbi Morse.” Says Jemmafirmly.
“Ikick ass and I know things,” responds Bobbi with a smirk.
Ignoringher, Jemma grabs her close then pulls them on; thankfully, that they’reslightly drier than they were before. Bobbi follows suit and once they’redressed, they check for their things, put out the fire then leave the cabin.
Bobbigrabs Jemma’s hand in her own and gives it a squeeze.

Knowing the truth about Ward makes Jemma’s blood boil especially where Skye is concerned. She wants nothing more than to protect Skye from him because he’s setting off the alarm bells in Jemma’s head and she’s always listened to her instincts.
“If I ever see you again, I'll kill you.”
She says with such force she knows he’s caught off guard but she means it.
There’s not much Jemma Simmons won’t do for the people she loves and she loves Skye the most.
People look at her and assume she’s harmless.
They forget that she has two PhDs to her name and that means she’s a lot more dangerous than she looks.
“That’s quite the look you’ve got on your face, babe,” Skye comments suddenly.
Jemma turns her attention to the doorway.
Then she smiles brightly.
“What kind of look is that, Skye?” she asks.
“I’m not sure, just know that I’ve never seen you look like that before.”
Crossing the room, Skye wraps her arms around Jemma’s shoulders from behind then kisses the top of her head. Then she spots the photo of Ward with marker marks all over it.
Skye frowns.
“Babe, what is this?”
Looking at picture she’s taken her rage out on, Jemma grabs it then puts it into a drawer.
“Oh nothing, Skye. Don’t worry about it.”
“Uh yeah, that’s not gonna happen so you better just spill.”
Letting out a sigh, Jemma knows she really has no choice because she can’t ever really keep things from Skye. She turns slightly so she’s able to pull Skye down onto her lap and the other woman comes willingly before snuggling up close to her.
“I love you so much and feel so protective of you especially after recent events where Ward is concerned. Karma is going to come around to him but I can’t help wanting to be a part of that. Does that make me a bad person?” states Jemma.
Skye doesn’t answer right away.
Her girlfriend deserves a serious response.
“The fact that you’re worried about your reaction tells me that you are a good person, a wonderful person who I am so lucky to be in a committed relationship with. If you were a bad person, you wouldn’t worry about something like this. What he did and was apart of, is terrible…absolutely fucking terrible. I don’t want him near you at all,” says Skye as she runs a hand through Jemma’s hair.
Ward’s actions disturbed the whole team but its clearly getting to Jemma.
“The best thing you can do, Jemma, is to be happy with me. Live your life, love the people in it who deserve it and science the shit out of everything. At the end of the day, he’ll rot in hell as he deserves.”
Jemma couldn’t help giggling at Skye’s words because she knows she’s right.
“You certainly have a way with words, darling,” comments Jemma.
Standing up, Skye stretches then holds out her hand to help Jemma up because there are plenty of other places, more comfortable places to get their cuddle on after all.
“I can’t help worrying about what could have happened, what could still happen with Ward on the loose now,” admits Jemma worriedly.
She looks down as her fingers play with the hem of her shirt.
“I’m worried too and I’m protective of what we have. We’re going to find him together and end him once and for all. I can promise you that.”
Jemma meets her gaze as she hears how confident Skye is.
“You’re right, you’re right.”
Taking her hand, Skye leads Jemma out of the lab and towards the kitchen.
At the pointed look from her girlfriend, Skye grins.
“You look like you could use a cup of tea. I’d try to make you one but I know how particular you are and you say that us Americans can’t make a cup of tea the right way so…I’ll keep you company and make myself a cup of coffee,” she says.
Jemma scrunches up her nose as if she smelled something terrible.
“How you and the others can drink that sludge and not tea is a mystery to me and not one I’m sure I’ll figure out any time soon,” she replies.
Laughing at her comments, Skye squeezes her hand.
“You have plenty of time to try to convert me. After all, we have the rest of our lives to spend together,” she says.
Skye’s eyes widen at her words and she ducks her head as she blushes.
Grinning at the comment, Jemma knows Daisy willgive her a hard time about it but its about time that her superhero girlfriend findsout how it is on the other side of the equation.
“Your Majesty, you look absolutely wonderful andthe people of England are lucky to have you.”
Trying to not smile, Daisy focuses on cleaningthe cut on Jemma’s hand.
Jemma flinches slightly as the water and soapmake contact with the wound before the rag gently wipes the soap away.
“So, I don’t think that you will need stitches. You’re just lucky you didn’t get any shards of glass into your cut.”
Nodding her head, Jemma admits that would havebeen bad.
Though, Fitz feels terrible as it is.
She’s sure Daisy made him clean up all the brokenglass and everything on his own since he’s the one who startled her and madeher drop the beaker on the table.
Taking the Neosporin, Daisy puts some on herfinger before rubbing it onto the cut.
Then she takes a bandage and places it firmly onthe wound.
“There. I think you will be fine now but you’llprobably wanna change it later to keep it from getting infected.”
Jemma smiles at her.
“Thank you, Daisy. You did a great job tending tomy injury.”
Leaning forward, she kisses Daisy gently.
“Anything for you babe. After all, I’ve learnedfrom the best.”
“As much as I wish you’d be more careful out inthe field, compliment accepted.”
Daisy gathers up everything she used, tossing outthe blood-soaked rags because the wound bleed a lot more than expected.
Then with first aid supplies packed up into theirstorage container, she grabs Jemma’s injured hand gently and kisses the woundsoftly, causing Jemma to smile lovingly at her.
“I suppose we should go write up our incidentreports and see if Fitz did his as well as clean up the lab,” comments Jemma.
Daisy lets out a dramatic sigh.
“Oh, if we must. You’ll need to dictate yourreport to me so I can type it for you,” replies Daisy.
Jemma goes to say something but Daisy holds up afinger then points it at her.
“No. You are going to nothing that’s notabsolutely necessary with your hand while it heals and that includes doingreports and me.”
Yeah, that sucks for Daisy but she does loveJemma.
Her hand wouldn’t take it well.
“How thoughtful of you, babe. I’m sure I’llreturn the favor when my hand heals fully.”
The smirk/smile on Jemma’s face tells Daisy, she’sin for something good in the future.
Daisy stands up then holds out her hand.
Jemma places her uninjured hand in Daisy’s thenlet her girlfriend help her up but doesn’t let go afterwards.
It doesn’t take them long to complete theirreports despite Daisy typing both of them but Coulson looks at them and opens hismouth before closing it because all he really needs to know is in the reportsthey brought him.
As for Fitz, he feels guilty for what happenedand after doing his report and cleaning up the mess, he makes Jemma a cup oftea just how she likes it while Daisy makes a cup of coffee for herself.
