Jerry Boy Manga (Lost Media?)

I'd love to get this manga someday. It seems to be the opposite of the manga created for Mendel Palace (Quinty) where, instead of being separate episodic stories, each chapter is part of a large, ongoing narrative that tries to adapt the game's story. There's even some behind-the-scenes sections that showcase some planning sheets for the game's mechanics and sprites.

It seems like it could be an interesting read. Especially for those who want to learn more about the development of a game like Jerry Boy. The auction I got these images from was around ¥20,000, which is far from affordable for me. (Then again, it is warranted since this manga is pretty old and hard to come by)

Maybe the manga will resurface someday in the future.

‘Jerry Boy’ - A Super Famicom title. This came out in the US as ‘Smart Ball’. This game was developed by @GAMEFREAK_info with art by @SUPER_32X! This was the Japanese cover artwork.

There’s a SNES game called Jerry Boy (tbh it’s probably supposed to be “Jelly Boy”) that has really, really cute pixel art and adorable characters like these angels and lots of animals.

Jerry had been out of the picture almost a decade. He tried to make an effort to make up for it or so Apple thought after his third visit in the asylum. The forth one hit her back to reality. His message  hit hard on her - she was and always would be a tool to him than a daughter. She never spoke of him afterwards.

Sorry if the dialog in the last pic does not make any sense! I rather wanted to put this on my blog than make a proper research of kidney failings. Disease of Jerry was not really the main point tho. It is a key for his action to search and go to Apple for help. He make her bond with him, its necessity for his survival. Apple let his come close to her even with a risk of him shitting on her once again. She knew he was full of shit, he had not taken care of her when she most needed him in the past and Apple worked and was strongly influenced with underworld side of Gotham because of Jerry. He was shit but still her father, Apple wanted him to be a caring father to her she always wished him to be. It seemed to come true when he came to visit her in asylum. She knew it was all good for nothing but hope still lived inside her and she wasn't ready to let it go.

Jerry underestimates Apple completely(or more likely the trauma he caused to her). Did he truly think Apple would have forgotten all his shitty actions and words? By visiting her at the arkham and asking a favor of a lifetime, he made sure Apple did not let her guard down for him (or any other man in that matter).

A lot of raw rambling of the father daughter relationship! I have been making some of this for a good while so rambling was in a right place VuV
