I was gonna say "I don't think jily doesn't make sense, I just strongly headcanon Lily as a lesbian, but I totally see them loving eachother and being co-parents and living together"

But um. James slander got all my focus and I can't have that in my house, so. Just to be clear. James Potter is not mysoginistic- not more than any other 16yo boy is. He is a momma's boy. He plays Quidditch with Marlene, he is a soldier alongside Dorcas. He loves women and is as much of a feminist as a man can be in the 70's/80's, and you can argue with the wall about that, you know why? Because Lily mf Evans would not marry a mysoginistic man.

Now. JKR? That's another story. Whether you like it or not, she is a TERF, and TERFs are mysoginistic. She wrote Lily and Narcissa as powerful because "their love for their children drove them to it." Ok, sure, women can have kids and can love them. But that's their only role!

She made them mothers and wives. Lily was a good potioneer but it was never discussed after Harry was born. She became Mrs Potter. And you know who wrote that? JKR. Because TERFs not only believe women are 'born women', but that a part of being a woman is being a mother, or being able to be a mother. Because women are femenine, and born to be mothers, and compassionate. Because you can't trust a man with a child, or anything else- because TERFs are sexist, and sexism affects women, men, and everyone else.

Don't call my boy mysoginistic. A bully? Sure. An obnoxious asshole? Yeah, why not. Classist on the money department? Yeah, comes with being obnoxious ig.

But James Potter is not a mysoginist.

Sometimes I actually physically hurt whenever I remember literally everything that Regulus, even canonically, went though.
