I have been looking for my job title for years, one that speaks of me and what I do...
JOYOLOGIST
Bringing joy to others is a brilliant gift, Santa brings gifts, hears your wishes for the Holiday and makes you feel good about being cheerful for the Holiday Season and all year long.
Helping people see the joy in their life isn't about not seeing the hardships we all go through or forgetting the challenges that we must over come. I never sweep my problems under the rug, nor do I throw them all out in front of me to take head on like a Bull either. I'm no fool. I know when to run and when to hold my ground just long enough to get a good head start.
Being a JOYOLOGIST means you look for the joy in your life... you look for the joy in most issues that come your way. Many times it's hard to find the joy. It's there... just hidden below the surface waiting for you to discover it.
Have a joyful 2018...
Never give up. Create your own reality. Forgive yourself unconditionally throughout it all. I used to be a victim of my situation, a sufferer of adversity; I wallowed and lamented constantly in my misfortunes. I developed BED and picked up an addiction to distract myself from the pain, and it only made things worse. I couldn't seem to pick myself up from the misery and relentlessly fantasized about a dream life where none of this happened. Then one day I got sick of it all. I wasn't getting anywhere sitting in my pool of tears, crying over spilled milk. Fantasizing is different from creating the reality i wanted. I decided I wanted to change, so I started with one step, no matter how small. It started that day with a run, and that's how I fell in love with the sport. Slowly one step turned to two, turned to three, and no matter how many times I slid back, I knew what I dreamed of meant too much to me to give up. I kept running forward against the wind...and soon, the wind ran with me...propelling me feet forward. And I began to soar. Change your perspective and make unfavourable circumstances work for you. It'll be by no means easy, but you are worth it. You are worth the effort, every step, every breath, every single day of life. You are worth more than this. You can have more than this. • •• ••• What's holding you back from your fullest, most joyful, potential? Lacking motivation? Let's have a chat--you can gain all of this with me! All about joy -#joyologist Christine Weiss Mba
“Resilient individuals have a set of assumptions or attitudes about themselves that influence their behaviors and the skills they develop,” write Sam Goldstein, Ph.D., and Robert Brooks, Ph.D., in their book, The Power of Resilience: Achieving Balance, Confidence, and Personal Strength in Your Life . The authors cite several factors that make a resilient mindset: > feeling in control of one’s life > empathy > ability to manage stress > solid problem-solving abilities > dealing effectively with mistakes > developing islands of competence (e.g., skills for work and life) > accepting yourself and others
