Documentary: jealousy
Judeau had had a long day in the last battle, and while on his way to the camp, all he wanted was to see his girlfriend, Y/N. She always had a way to make everything look lighter, no matter how difficult the day had been.
However, when he arrived at the camp, he found a scene that made him stop dry.
Y/N was talking to Griffith. The light of fire gently illuminated their faces as they talked in a tone that seemed almost intimate.
Griffith, with his natural charisma and magnetic presence, seemed completely absorbed in the conversation. And/N, for his part, smiled and laughed in a way that Judeau could not remember seeing before. A pang of jealousy crossed Judeau.
He knew that Griffith had that effect on people; his leader could capture anyone's attention with a single word or gesture. But seeing Y/N, his Y/N, so entertaining and captivated by Griffith hurt in a way he did not expect. Trying to maintain composure, Judeau approached them.
Y/N was the first to notice it, and her face lit up when she saw it
. "Judeau! How was it today?" He asked, getting up quickly to give him a hug. However, Judeau could not help but notice Griffith's brief look at him, a look that seemed to evaluate his reaction." Well," Judeau replied, returning the hug with less enthusiasm than he would normally have.
"Just a little bit tired “
"Griffith smiled, that kind of smile that seemed to contain all the secrets of the world.
"We were talking about the strategies for the next mission," he explained. "Y/N has some interesting ideas
."" Yes, I was very interested in how we could improve the coordination of the team," added Y/N, his evident enthusiasm.
"Griffith was giving me some advice." Judeau nodded, but the knot in his stomach did not disappear.
"That sounds good," he said, trying to sound casual. "I'm glad you're contributing." As the conversation continued, Judeau remained silent, watching Griffith and Y/N interact. The feeling could not be shaken that, although Griffith was not doing anything inappropriate, there was a connection that he could not ignore.
He wondered if Y/N also felt that almost hypnotic attraction that Griffith seemed to exert on everyone.
That night, after everyone withdrew to their tents, Judeau and Y/N sat together near the fire.
"You seem worried," Y/N said, taking his hand. "
Is there anything you want to talk about?"
Judeau looked her in the eye, trying to find the right words.
"It's just... sometimes I wonder if Griffith has more than I deserve. I mean, everyone admires him, including you.
"Y/N squeezed his hand harder.
"Judeau, I admire you for different reasons. Griffith is an impressive leader, yes, but you are the person I want to be with.
I care about your courage, your dedication and how you always think of others.
"Those words gave Judeau a comfort he desperately needed. He still had to deal with his jealousy, but at least he knew that Y/N's love for him was real and deep. With that certainty, he was willing to face any challenge, even those that came from within his own heart.
As the days went by, Judeau found himself increasingly alert to Y/N's interactions with others. Every shared laughter, every friendly conversation, every gesture of kindness towards her aroused a spark of jealousy in her heart. He tried not to show it, but the restlessness was difficult to ignore. One afternoon, while Y/N helped prepare the provisions with some camp members, Judeau realized that Corkus approached him with a joke and a smile.
Judeau watched from afar, his jaw tight and his hands closed in fists. Although he knew that Corkus was like that with everyone, he couldn't help feeling threatened.
"¿It’s everything fine , Judeau?"
Rickert asked, who had noticed the tension in his friend. Judeau nodded, trying to hide. "
Yes, everything is fine. I was just thinking about our next missions.
"Rickert didn't seem convinced, but he didn't insist. Judeau knew that his jealousy was not rational; And/N he had done nothing to deserve his distrust.
However, the idea of losing it scared him more than he wanted to admit.
That night, while walking together under the moonlight, Judeau finally could no longer contain himself.
"Y/N, I have to tell you something,"
Began, his voice full of concern. Y/N he looked at him curiously.
"What's up, Judeau?"
"It's about how I feel when I see you with others," he confessed, looking at the ground.
"I know it doesn't make sense, but I can't help feeling jealous when someone else makes you laugh or when you spend time with them.
"Y/N he frowned, not out of anger, but out of understanding.
"Judeau, I understand that you feel that way. But you have to trust me.
You are the person I want to be with. The others are friends, battle mates, but you are the only one who means anything else to me." Judeau looked up and found the sincere look of Y/N.
"I know, and I try. I just can't help it. I love you so much that the idea of losing you terrifies me.
"And/N he hugged him, resting his head on his chest. "You don't have to worry about that. I'm here with you, and I'll always be." With those words, Judeau felt a mixture of relief and shame. She knew that her jealousy was unfair to Y/N, but she also knew that she understood it and was willing to support him. He decided to work on his insecurities, relying on Y/N's love and patience to overcome those feelings.
In the days and weeks that followed, Judeau made a conscious effort to trust Y/N and his companions more. Although jealousy did not disappear completely, he learned to handle them better, knowing that his relationship with Y/N was strong and genuine. His love for her impelled him to be a better person, someone worthy of the trust and affection she gave him.
