Its a very unique kind of horror, being left behind together. Never really close but now all the other has.

I pretty much made these bc I wanted to mess with Julie-Su and Mighty dynamics. (Especially Julie-Su development I want to make her feel like an actual character) I wanted to do Ray, I just ran out of juice. The chaotix in my au are a lot like a family. Vector's literally everyone's father figure here, including Mighty and Julie-Su. They all love eachother and have eachother's backs even if they butt heads sometimes. Charmy: Sees him as a little brother. This means she would both destroy the world for him while also snatching the last treat before he can. This goes for Ray too. Her favs, the others don't ask her what her 3rd favorite reptile is. Mighty: They often train together, and while she's not as strong as him, they still wrestle and such. They have a tendency to talk more since Mighty's laid back. Usually the one who manages to calm her down. (Or anyone down for that matter. Mighty's the team's therapist) Vector: They don't always see eye to eye, and while she's usually more mature on level with Espio, she can't resist pushing Vector's buttons. As mentioned, she does see him as a father figure, so it's more of the annoying that kids do to their parents. But don't worry, as the father figure, he has plenty of ways to get under her skin too. They also happen to butt heads the most for different ideas of how missions should be carried out. Espio: @charleecat-bat mentioned/suggested it'd be a fun/friendly rivalry between the two because they're both marksmen. She's great with guns, he's great with his kunai and shuriken stars. They get compettive during training, but once they get too snippy about it they can't help but laugh how stupid it is to get shaken up about. (Also yes she's taller than him he's slightly jealous.) Main thing I want to do with this version of Julie is make her still sassy and hot headed, but be more genuine. She doesn't get jealous as easily either.

So for practice I redrew the first page of the most infamous chapter in Mobius: 25 Years Later, but of course with some tweaks!

I redesigned Abby to look more like a Mobian. Goodbye photo-realistic koala maid. I also made her pose a bit more sassy because she deserves it.

Got rid of the weird apron and put Julie-Su in her regular clothes. I don't think she was ever actually shown cooking in the chapter so there's no point to her wearing that weirdly sexy apron... I also made her ponytail a bit smaller so she wouldn't block half the page with it.

Instead of the weird TV screen they use for video calls, I gave Julie-Su a more futuristic device that can show a hologram of the other line. It also gives a reason for why she's holding a tablet in the original, because I also don't think that was ever explained either.

I rewrote some of the dialogue to sort of get to the point? In the sense of the fact they're having an actual conversation instead of droning on and on about the same subject the whole time (In the next page I'd imagine Julie-Su gets to the actual reason of why she called Sally so the story can move beyond their dinner plans). Also, in the original, Sally states "we have a problem" but then she never actually specifies what her issue is. Lastly, I changed the mention of Lara-Su's supposed diet since it never comes up anywhere else in the story.

I tried coloring the page, but it look a bit weird, so I left it black-and-white. However I did color-code the speech bubbles to add some flair and ease for the reader to know who's talking.

I did end up tracing the background of the original though. I'm not exactly up to par with my BG work yet. Forgive me, background critics.

Re-designs for Lien-da and Julie-su

Was listening to my friend talk about these characters (I haven't read the archie comics), I looked at their designs and thought they looked good I liked elements of them but they also just looked like knuckles with hair. I found myself thinking about them hard so I had to channel it into a re-design.

I did my best to reflect what I knew about both of them in their designs, I know they're half sisters, Lien-da is a leader of the dark legion & pretty ruthless possibly even vindictive and hates Juile-su got damn, Julie-su was a soldier for the dark legion but deserted them and she has a lovely gun (I know she was Knuckles' girlfriend but also cousin so I've just neglected to incorporate that mess)

I think Lien-da has a lot of presence already so not much needed to change, she did look like a pirate mixed with black widow so I hope that still shines through X) Julie-su on the other hand I think needed some more intention in her design, so since she's separated from what sounds like a horrible and crushing upbringing with low self worth in the dark legion I feel her outfit after leaving should reflect through reminisce her past and finding herself through her newly found spunky style☆

And I know the cybernetic quill in their original designs had a purpose, I wanted to make it work but... personally, I just wasn't feeling it (sorry)

I had a lot of fun re-designing them, it's making me want to do more☆
