Heavy wind amongst trees occasionally emulated the sound of waves crashing ashore, kissing the sand before whisking away the stray particles along to wander amongst the salt water. Not quite abandoned, and rather in good company, you felt a sense of familiarity to the grains as you woke up coddled in those very rock fragments as you peered over, not having to search very far, to spot the resting body you were looking for beside you. A foggy recollection of the night before left a crooked smile on your lips as you crawled towards him, pressing your face into his back as he groaned in discomfort, a groggy echo that reverberated against the rocks that shaded the two of you.

You ate the slice of cake in a matter of a few seconds and let out a content hum when you were done. You placed the plate and fork in the sink to clean after you downed your drink first. You were washing the dishes when Junhoe came downstairs. Upon seeing you there, he threw his arms around you from behind and kissed the back of your head.
“Hey, you.”
You giggled and craned your neck to sneak a kiss from his lips.
“Hi, hi.”
“You’re in a good mood.” He raised an eyebrow.
“Because I saw you.” You smirked and he scoffed, laughing.
“I know.” He played along. He pulled away from you and headed for the fridge. “I am so hungry, Y/N!”
“See if there’s any food left in the fridge. If not, then I can whip up something.”
“You are the best, you know that?”
“I know.”
You continued washing the dishes while he rummaged through the fridge. Seeing as how he was taking forever to find anything, you turned to him only to be faced with a distressed Junhoe.
“What’s the matter?”
He didn’t answer. He slowly shut the fridge door and let out a loud sigh.
In the smallest voice you have ever heard, he muttered his response. “My cake. It’s not there where I put it.”
Your eyes widened and you gulped. Suddenly, you felt sweat at your forehead and the palm of your hands. You quickly wiped them away and cleared your throat.
“I-Is that so? Hm, weird. I saw you put it in there last night too,” You nervously laughed and Junhoe being too sad, didn’t even notice you fidgeting. You turned away from him and covered your mouth. “Crap. I was the one who ate his cake! How could I forget that was his? Great, he’s going to kill me when he finds out.”
Then, there was a thud and you spun around on your heel to find him kneeled on the floor. His hands covered his face as he sat there defeated.
“Junhoe, what are you doing?”
You heard him sniffle.
“I was looking forward to eating that cake.”
“I-I know, love.” You reached for him, but retracted your hands when you thought you better not. You nervously laughed and rubbed the back of your neck. “Junhoe, there is something I have to tell you.”
He raised his head to look at you, but you couldn’t meet his eyes. You stalled by looking around before gathering enough courage.
“I know who ate it.”
“You do? Tell me, please!” He grabbed onto your hands.
“Uh, um, well. I don’t know how to tell you this.”
“Y/N, please.”
“It was me,” You muttered under your breath.
“It was who?”
You groaned. “It was me.”
Time seemed to freeze as the two of you stared at each other.
“What?”
“I was the one who ate your cake. I forgot about it and kind of just ate it earlier, so,” You mumbled and scratched the back of your neck.
“It was you all along?”
“Junhoe, I didn’t mean to.”
“You have betrayed me!” He pushed your hands away.
“Junhoe, please.”
“You scoundrel! You fiend! You monster! How could you!” He gasped.
“Love, I’m sorry.”
“This is an act of betrayal, Y/N!” He cried.
“I-I know, but can’t you forgive me this once?”
Just as he was about to reply, the members came down to see what the ruckus in the kitchen was. Upon seeing the sight of their fellow member on the floor and his significant other desperately begging for his forgiveness, they sighed. They shook their heads in disapproval before walking past the kitchen to get to the living room, but not without adding a comment first.
“You’re so loud,” Chan grumbled, ruffling his hair.
“It is way too early for your shenanigans,” DK added.
“Are you aware it is very early in the morning to be shouting like that?” Song lectured.
“Honestly, why do we go through this every day? Can’t we have a break?” Bobby groaned.
“One day, just one day is all I ask for peace and quiet,” Jay sniffled.
“I am so tired of this. Just go buy more of whatever it is the other ate,” BI sighed.
You and Junhoe looked at each other, then giggled. Realizing that he was supposed to be mad, he turned his head away. He cleared his throat, then huffed.
“I’m supposed to be mad at you.”
“But Junhoe,” You whined and he shook his head.
“You really did it this time, Y/N. I don’t think I can forgive you so easily.”
“Are you sure about that?”
“Yes.”
You smirked and cupped his face into your hands. You began caressing his cheek and giving him lots of affection. He hummed, melting into your touch.
“What can I do to have you not mad at me?” You asked again and he gulped, catching himself.
“I guess I can forgive you if you give me lots of kisses.” He snuck a peek at you out of the corner of his eye. Your eyes widened before they softened. You giggled and nodded.
“Why didn’t you just say that in the first place?”
“I have to play hard to get sometimes, you know?”
You rolled your eyes. “You don’t have to, but whatever floats your boat. Now, come here, so I can grant your wish.”
Junhoe grinned and stood up. He scooped you up into his arms and you wrapped yours around his neck. You leaned in and kissed his puckered lips.
“Satisfied?”
“Not yet,” He smirked and pulled you in for another kiss.
“GO GET A ROOM!” You heard from the living room. You pulled away and smiled at each other. They scoffed. “Don’t forget Y/N betrayed you by eating your cake, Junhoe.”
“Hey! Don’t remind him of that.”
“That’s right. What should I have you do to make up for it?” He gave you a deviously smirk. You gulped.
“Have a nice match of go fish?”
“I think I have something better in mind.”
“Oh, no.” You whispered as he carried you to his room.
“This is only fair, Y/N.”
“I won’t betray you anymore, I promise! Come on, Junhoe!”
-Somewhere in between his haughty smirk and sultry whispers, you let yourself lost in a path of no return with the man who doesn’t love anyone.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | Final
A heavy breath mingled with the thickening air of the stuffy office, uneasiness not even the exorbitantly priced whiskey his father had given could ease shrouded his body. As he thought of you and thought of your smile, Junhoe drowned further in the worst kind of regret, the kind that couldn’t be fix, the kind that brought on nothing but hopelessness. He knew there was nothing he could do if you were in fact just as innocent as you were that night… Well, as innocent as two people fucking each other’s brains out could be. He loved your sinful wholesomeness. Such a beautiful mess of contradiction yet you were just so perfect for him. As raw as the intimacy you both shared, there was something so basic, so simple in the happiness glowing so alluringly behind your fucked-out eyes the moment you realized he did in fact wanting, needing to see you again in much less sweat and nakedness. Your eyes seemingly grew three times its size and the smile that blossomed on your lips, it was nothing short of pure bliss, as if he had just resolved all the tangles of your heart. As the memory of that night streamed endlessly in his mind, the anger too risen once more in his heart but this time, this time it stemmed from just how idiotic his action had been. How he had ripped himself away from happiness before even giving it a chance, giving you the benefit of the doubt.
The longer Junhoe remained in this cursed seat, the more his body ached with the weight of your tear and the cuts of your disdainful glares. He got up, shoving the content so neatly arranged atop his desk to their demise in one fell swoop of his hands. He huffed then he puffed but that bitterness in his soul wasn’t going anywhere. It was here to stay, here to remind him of every fuck up things the women of the past had done unto his soul and everything he had just done to you. His beautifully sinful angel, he hurt you even before he got a chance to cherish you. So, with one last glance at the mess he had just made, Junhoe stormed out of his office leaving the crime scene behind hoping a long walk about would sooth his heart, even if it was only temporary… Perhaps just stealing a glance at you would help.
The soft humming of the elevator seemingly put Junhoe in a much better mood, or perhaps it was the lingering emotion laid behind the memory he still had of this place, of how obedience you were. Or perhaps deep down his heart knew, that the second this elevator ding loudly to remind him of the destination, Junhoe will once more be able to look at the face he had become fond of even if the owner of that face no longer viewed him the same way.
Whispers and soft giggles littered the path he taken, employees flocking to catch a rare glimpse of the man scarcely appear even though his last name boldly embossed on every aspect of the building, down to the toilet paper. Junhoe wondered if there was a time when you’d do the same, abandoning a few minutes of your lunch just to crowd the hallway with your friends, catching a glimpse of him passing by. The thought of you shyly smiling as he walks pass put a smile on his lips that only seemed to fuel the murmur in the air further. Yet he paid no mind, much to occupy with the thought of your whereabout to really taking in what the words being whispered was truly about. He rounded the corner, stealing a quick glance at your office only to find it painfully empty, an omen of the near future if he fail to solve this knot in his heart. Right, it was lunch time. Junhoe mentally cursing himself for being so forgetful. In a way, he wasn’t really to blame for the past few weeks of lunch had been spent with you. And even though not much was said aside from work, he still got his time with you, watching as you unpack the cutest little lunch box filled with amazing homemade goods, he was too fearful of crossing the lines, too shy to ask for a taste. Now as he made his way toward the busy cafeteria, even more regret filled his heart at the thought of never being able to taste your homemade food even just once.
The door swinging wildly as he entered the buzzing food hall, lines of employees far too busy, far too focus on food to realize their boss was lurking about just feet away. Junhoe scanned the room, searching for those familiar locks of hair and beautiful smile. A thankful smile broke over his entire being, a light shone down on his soul as he caught your features, light and happy of the days before this entire mess happened. You were giggling away at something the head of HR had said, hand swatting gently her chopsticks prodding at your lunch box. Suddenly there was a scowl being worn on his lips and a tinge of jealousy steeling in his chest. He thought about making his present known, yet as the soft utterance of his name, so fleeting in the clutter of noise during the height of lunch yet reaching his ears miraculously, Junhoe halted his steps. He made his way behind a corner and listened, as ridiculous and wrong as it was, he needed to know what his employee thought of him.
“That party was amazing, wasn’t it? I don’t think I’ve properly seen Mr. Koo before. I was stunned.” Must be just an office worker, a girl he didn’t recognized spoke up enthusiastically, completely missing the strained smile on your lips at the reminder of that night.
“Hm, it’s your first, right?” You replied so quietly, hammering guilt into his heart in the way you stopped mid bite, no doubt all appetite lost just from the distant mention of him. The girl nodded furiously, recounting just how wonderful the food was and how much better it was compared to the last company. Once more his name was mentioned but it was more of the same praising, strict but fair, not the typical stingy old man CEO, handsome, and of course, fuckable. Each time his name was mentioned, it pained Junhoe to see you near flinch at each syllable passing through. By the time you had coughed less than inconspicuously just to cut into one of the girl’s rant of just how amazing the CEO was, Junhoe could bear no longer watching the way your eyes dimmed out to something so dismal. That was never something he wanted to see in you. So to save himself, Junhoe turned on his heels, walking away because he got his wish of seeing you even if it was behind a corner, hidden and stalker-ish. Just as his foot stepped away, a sentence that…Perhaps resonated so perfectly the fear he had in his heart.
“Did you hear the boss got another notch in his belt?”
The sentence echoed through the large room as the rest of the chatter melted away into oblivion. It was whispered so carefully, shared between the 6 girls huddling over lunch, seemingly isolated from the rest of the world but to Junhoe, it was perfectly loud and clear. It was loud and clear because he knew that was how you heard that dreadful sentence. Panic engulfed his body as he rushed to watch your face grimly darken. Your entire body frozen as did his, every minute expression on your features mirrored so perfectly the one washing over his fearful one. His heart drumming in his ears as he patiently awaited the next sentence, awaited your reaction.
“No way. How would you know.” Another girl he vaguely recognized spoke up, determination in her words as if knowing for sure he hadn’t done the deed.
“I heard Ashley from design saw him last night. Waiting in the gold elevator, just leaning against the railing as if he was waiting for someone.” Your face ghost white the moment that little bit of information was given, a tremble settled in your fingers as the girl continued her telling of that night.
“That doesn’t mean anything though…” Irene shooed away the thought with a wave of her hand, vaguely knowing exactly what had happened. “It’s not like she saw him with someone.”
“No but he had that look, you know. And a very evident bulge in his pants… Pretty, ahem…” She lowered her voice to a bare minimum, hushing the important details. “Pretty pretty, pretty above average if you catch my drift.” She added with a bit of giggle to her voice, to which the rest cheered in excitement, aside from you and Irene. If he could, Junhoe would punch himself this very second for being so careless, for putting you in such risky position just because he was too horny to think straight.
“Oh, now that you said that…” The girl sitting across your way chimed in. “I heard that just before he made the speech, someone from marketing saw Mr. Koo fixing himself near the elevator. If that isn’t evident, I don’t know what is.”
“Uh, how about actually seeing him with someone? This is nothing but conjecture. If you have picture evident then come back and talk to me.” Irene unknowingly raising a fist defensively, voice gravely and threatening. Even with the revelation of his mistake playing out right before his eyes, Junhoe managed to somehow made a mental note not to cross Irene, ever, especially since she knew how much of a coward he was.
“Wow, someone is super touchy. You got anything to confess to us, Irene?”
“Nah, Irene isn’t enough of a slut to do that shit. I mean she is, but she got a good head on her shoulders so… Who is it?” A second girl added in with a teasing smirk on her lips.
“What do you mean?” Irene responded indignantly, eyes glancing inconspicuously toward your silent self, shrinking so small that Junhoe wanted to do nothing more than wrap you up inside his embrace.
“Like she said, you’re not the kind of slutty that would suck the boss’s dick for a raise. But since you’re being all touchy, that mean you know who it is. Spill, who is it?”
“Yea, spill some tea. Let us have some of the fun too!”
“There was no one. How are you all so sure that there was? For all we know, he could’ve gone to his fucking private bathroom in his fucking private office and fucking rubbed one off!” There was an underlaying contempt in each word your best friend uttered, Junhoe felt a chill tearing his spine apart as if faced with a mama bear protecting her cub.
“Oh, come on. We all know Junhoe is a saint compare to his father and grandfather. But do you really believe that with the reputation senior and senior-senior had, that he wouldn’t dabble?”
“And you know all these bitches will kill to have a chance with him. He’s hot, and talented. Who wouldn’t? I would!” Their laughter like knives throwing at his heart, and each wince shuddering through your body like salt rubbing on the wounds.
“We all like to be high and mighty but come on, give yourself up a little bit to a super hot guy for a raise?” A teasing wink left a stain on his heart that you had to sit through this without being to defend yourself, knowing that he had given you nothing to defend yourself with. “I won’t lie, honestly, who need love when there’s great sex and money.”
Junhoe was truly horrified at the words spewing through the lunchroom. He knew there was gossip, and part of him expected for there to be some rather unsavory things to be said about his love life but this… There was an anger rising in his chest and he’d be lying if he said there wasn’t a part of him wanting to fire everyone who dare say anything about the topic he was so sensitive about. Yet he knew well within his heart that it wasn’t their fault but simply history predicting the future. His father, as faithful as he was to his mother, wasn’t able to defend himself, unable to stay out of the murkiness of the ocean of rumors tied to their last name. You had been staying so silent, biting back the tear brimming your redden eyes and it pulverized his inside. He could barely kept himself still watching your fingers gripping harshly at the fork pulverizing the food in your box, knuckles going white. Yet with the last statement leaving your coworker’s lips, your heart couldn’t contain the disgust any longer because you truly felt for him. It wasn’t just sex and it wasn’t just because he was Mr. Koo. One hand over your mouth, you uttered a quick “excuse me” before tearing away from the seat, quoting needing the restroom. Irene thrown in a quick cover of late-night drinking and long hours of meeting to fool their simpleton minds, aiding your getaway. Junhoe was far too lost in his own world of pity to realize that you were heading straight his way, running right to the corner he had been hiding for so long. The second he came to, you were face to face with him, tears already streaming down your cheeks and the most painful expression wrecking your beautiful features.
“Y/n…” He whispered gently, hand reaching out to pull you into his chest yet much to his dismay, you shoved him out of the way continuing your hasten steps. He chased after you, calling your name over and over like a beautiful song yet you couldn’t hear any of it. Your steps continued toward the empty restroom in the far part of the company hardly anyone frequent, wanting nothing more but for Junhoe to go away. It wasn’t because you didn’t want to see him, or to hear him calling for you but rather, seeing you like this… If you didn’t want to see yourself in the mirror, why would he? Little did you know, he needed to see you, desperately needing to make it right… His last chance to fix this.
“Y/n.”
There used to be a time when you long for his calling, wanting nothing more than to be at the center of his attention, anxious to hear his sweet voice rings out your name… This moment, this wasn’t one of those time. For the past week, everywhere you turned, every moment your gaze crossed path with another, there he was with that disapproving scowl on his lips and laser sharp stare as if nothing you do will ever be right again in his eyes. You tried so hard to hide, did the best you could to avoid confrontation yet the worst moment of your adult life by far, there he was to witness it all and as if that wasn’t bad enough… Did you really think you’d get a moment alone when you were still very much under his roof, well within his reach. Hand clasped tight over your quivering lips, you choked back a sob that you knew will be much too loud if you let it escape, backing further away from the thin piece of wood that separated you from the rest of the world even if the falling footsteps only grew louder with each ragged breath you take.
“Y/n… I know you’re here. If you’re worry about those gossipy girls, I made sure my assistant blocked the path leading here. We’re alone, Y/n… Please, talk to me.”
Junhoe beelined for the furthest stall, his feet halting to a stop in front of the only one with its door tightly shut. Even if the dead silent meant he was the last person on Earth you wanted to see, he couldn’t leave you, not like this. He had made the mistake of walking away from you too many goddamn times before and if he were to do it now, Junhoe was certain in his heart that he’ll lose you forever. A hand gently rasping at the wooden surface that if he really wanted to, Junhoe could easily kick down but now is not the time for him to be selfish even if all he desired was just to see your face, right now he needed more than ever for you to trust him.
“I know I haven’t been the kindest to you these past few days but you have to understand, I am not the man they’re making me out to be. All the rumors, it’s all a big lie, a big misunderstanding so just one chance is all I’m asking. Allow me to explain myself.”
Something in the way he begged, the desperation in his voice that reminded you so much of that fateful night, the moments that followed the last screams of each other names. In the moments where he held you in his arms, bodies sticky with sweat and sweet remnant of the love fucking that had gone on for who knew how long, his finger gently danced their way along the curve of your spine, inciting the most delightful sensation along its path. His voice much different from that the one demanded so much out of you all night long, there was not an ounce of sternness nor was there harshness.
It was sweet and kind like the refreshing breeze of spring against your ears, the softest hint of affection behind his words as he whispered against your bruised lips, eyes lovingly studying your blown out ones - “Please let me see you again, and i don’t mean sex this time. I want to do this the proper way if you’d let me.” You nodded furiously, nodded until you couldn’t anymore because he had once again captured your lips in his for another fervid kiss, smiling in between each kiss and ragged breaths. A smile had beginning to bloom, ready to leave its bud but like poison, his cruel words stained it into a frown.
“I’m sorry for being disrespectful, sir, but you’ve done far more to proven their words true than to convince me otherwise. So, I beg of you, tell me why I should believe anything coming out of your mouth. And I am so certain that nothing you could say nor do will offer any bit of comfort or ever take away the humiliation I felt, what a degraded piece of trash you made me out to be, and just how much it hurt. You used me and thrown me aside like garbage and so what if they don’t know it was me. The big boss’s quid pro quo, the ignominy is there for everyone to see.”
There it was, “sir”, the term of honor he had heard from your lips billion of times before but this time, it cuts deep. Would you think him strange if he said in the mere hours you granted him the pleasure of calling you his that he had gotten accustomed to your calling of his first name. It’s just as simple as you uttering his first name yet it’s so endearing, so much more satisfy than any pet names you could’ve given him in the moment. To hear that term of respect he was once so prideful to have earned in your voice, it stung.
“I don’t expect you to believe me, I know I don’t deserve that, but I hope you find it in your heart to see the truth in my voice. Words cannot express how devastated I was hearing those words being spoken about you because, sweetheart, you’re worth the world in my eyes. You’re so much more to me than just a quick fuck or whatever it is they say. You’re no less of the talented woman that had led so many successful projects, my star supervisor, and one hell of a strong woman that I could never be compare to. Nothing will ever change that, and you have got to believe it Y/n, but I surmise my opinions don’t worth much now after all the bullshit I’ve said to you. If the company lose you as its member… If I lose you, I can say with confident neither will be the same ever again. Just one last time I beg of you, trust me.”
At this point Junhoe didn’t know if his stubborn trait of a businessman was a blessing or a curse as he placed a risky bet on those affectionate terms he hoped by the day end, he could once again whispered against your lips. He bet and he won because lost within the sniffles and kitten like mewl of yours, the shuffle of your feet inching closer to the door and he don’t doubt for a second you’re edging on the border of letting him in. The future of his heart riding on the moments to come and the words had yet to form.
“How, Jun- Sir, tell me. You want me to trust you yet there’s nothing to say when tomorrow come, you won’t shun me like you had. What is there to guarantee that you won’t turned into that contemptuous king that thinks everyone else is bellow him, that I’m below him. Who to say by tomorrow’s morn I won’t just be another notch in your belt, just another disgraceful face in the crowd. Because if history is going to repeat then please, let me leave with the last bit of my dignity because I’ve lost everything else to you.”
Junhoe thought he’d lose all the resolve he has the moment his name crept onto your lips even if you had abandoned it midway. He’s close, so so close that he could almost taste you on his lips and it was now or never.
“I know to you there’s nothing to guarantee that I won’t turn my back on you again but baby, I’ve made that mistake too many times now. If I lose you again, I’d be the biggest fool in this world so please, 5 minutes is all I’m asking for. If you hear all I have to say only to find yourself in more pain, I will have someone drive you home. You can have the rest of the week off, full paid. And if it is your wish to never see me again, I will see to it that you’ll have a better job than what I could provide for you.”
The bitterness of regret at the tip of his tongue and Junhoe wished as he thought about the should’ve and would’ve. He should’ve asked you to clear up the reservation in his heart, asked you to be his because then maybe right now you’d be in his office giggling away while stealing food from his lunch box, maybe even planning your next date. He should’ve pulled you into his arms the moment he saw how hard you were fighting to hide your shivering shoulders, to be strong even if you knew he could very well see your broken features in the spotless reflection of the elevator. His hand laid flat on the cold surface wishing it was holding yours, his head hangs low under the weight of a defeated man, a man that was fighting a losing war.
He knew you were crying the moment he shadowed your footstep to this cold empty restroom. Yet there was something about hearing the half choked sobs and the way your voice wavered, it crushed whatever unbroken bit of his heart Junhoe had got left. Why couldn’t he just ask you like a normal person, why did he had to resort to his power and pushed you aside like he does with everything else in his life. Instead here he stood in the cold emptiness of the women bathroom, head resting on the cold lifeless piece of wood hiding you away from him. What he would give to take it all back, those harsh words, chiding tone, he never meant for it to be offensive nor did he meant to degrade you but alas his surmise of being the fault in all his failed relationships had once again bit him in the ass. With you, with you he hoped to do it all different but the second you dropped to your knee in that elevator, he was once again going down the same beaten path and it was too late to stop it.
You deserve so much more than just him and his lonely heart. Hell, he couldn’t even do the whole dating things right and even if it seemed like you didn’t care about it, he would’ve like to for once taking a nice girl out on a proper date before ripping her panties off in the car. Speaking of which, would you laugh at him if he confesses right now, he had kept your lace panties right on his night stand like the creep he is.
“If you put a gun to my head this second, I don’t know still, if I could bring myself to admit that I love you… But I do know that my heart is already in your hand, even if it’s barely a heart anymore by all means of the world. But just knowing that I won’t ever have a chance to say those three little words in the future, it’s devastating and what left of my heart pulverized thinking about it. I deserve every bit of derision and jeer you got to thrown in my face, all the pain, and I’d let you beat me black and blue if you want to. I’ll accept your contempt, I don’t deserve happiness and I know that more than anyone else.” His voice ragged, barely there and painful. “I’m begging you, please have mercy on this idiot, barely a man the way I acted, the way I treated you. Y/n please, don’t leave me. I will give you all the space in the world, I will give you time off and I will stay far away… Anything. Just promise me, don’t make your decision now when you’re still so crossed with me. That’s all I could hope for, that you’ll give me one last chance to see you before you leave…”
The words of a broken man, his pain echoed through the silent space and your heart bled for him. The pain behind each breath he took, you could feel the scars so evidently in his heart left from past relationships, the ones that had left him fearful of the future. In a way, you pity him, pity that with all the money in the world and all the things he could get with that money, he needed you. You were nothing but a faceless, nameless person lucky enough to cross path with him yet he needed you. How sad that truly is and your heart reached up its hand to unlatch the lock on the wooden door separating his side of reality from yours as they finally matched up with heartfelt truth being spoken. Your eyes peeking out at the sorrowful man kneeling on the floor, eyes dejected staring as if his soul had been stolen by the grim reaper. There was nothing left behind those beautiful eyes, cold and dark, no longer did it glowed with the brilliant universe you had grew fond of. The disdain and hatred you had built up wallowing in self-pity for the past weeks dissipated as your hand reached for his, petting warmth back into the man frozen over with hurt. His eyes lit up with hope though still too fearful to move, too scare to reciprocate the soft touches. He choked back a sob, tears still streaming endlessly down those beautiful features, lingering on sharp edges of his jawlines as he watched your hand dancing along the length of his arm, coloring life back to every bit of skin you touched.
“Junhoe…” The second his name so delicately left your lips, he broke down with the full force of a heartbroken man.
“Sweetheart” He wailed, falling into your arms, barely fitting but he really couldn’t care. You both sat there on the floor for what felt like eternity before the noise of a crowd just finished with their lunch reeling your blissed-out mind back to reality. Panic once more breaking over his handsome face, knowing that he had run out of time. He stared at you desperately, silently begging you not to leave for all the words he wanted to say still safely tucked away in the depth of his heart. Without his brain even commanding them to, his hands gripping at the sleeves of your blouse, not quite confident enough to hold yours. “I- There’s so much I need to tell you…”
“Shh, you’re fine.” You cooed gently, soothing the flustered man back to serenity with soft passing of your thumbs over his cheeks. “We’ll talk.” You said simply yet his body still rattled with fear as you pulled him back onto his feet. Hands patting away, smoothing over the small crinkles in the crisp bespoke suit so perfectly tailored to his body.
“No, Y/n… You don’t understand. I-, I don’t- Fuck!” Frustration taut on his forehead, brows furrowed. Stammering incoherently, Junhoe did his best to explain, to get you to stay. He meant it when he said that he’ll give you space but now that your touch once more becoming so familiar, he found it harder and harder to let go.
“I know a long talk is overdue for you and me, but this is hardly the place to do it. You said you want to do this properly, I think you can do better than pouring your heart out in the restroom, at work of all places.” Part of you really just want to forget about all the pain and all the tear, letting the lingering warmth of a broken promise carrying you both into the future. Was it so wrong to crave a relationship you never had? As you stood there, searing every bit of his skin with your gaze, all you could think of was how fucking kissable Junhoe was, and if this very second you were to push him against the wall and let your heart loose to do its deed, you doubted he would even care and just let you have your way. Yet there was no denying how real the hurt felt, and it was mere minutes ago that shame of being thrown out like trash, of being called a slut, and of being just another notch in his belt, all those emotions were still so fresh. Perhaps you were making the biggest mistake of your life, giving into a man you barely knew, but the little girl inside of you, the little girl that dreamt of a happy ending with the handsome prince and peace for all the universes, she was screaming at you to give him another chance… So, with all the hesitation of a shameful one night stand and all the love of an innocent girl needing true love, you let your heart ran wild. You kissed him. It wasn’t a horny kiss and it wasn’t a needy one either. It was sweet and chaste, a delicate kiss against his quivering lips to calm his erratic heart, a kiss of promise.
“Y/n…” There was no describing the insane tsunami of emotions crashing upon his heart as he felt your lips ghosting over his, hands gripping at his side pulling him so much closer. He uttered your name once then twice, unable to process the event chaotically unfurling before his eyes. “I’ll wait for you, tonight, after hours. I want to do right by you even though there’s nothing left, even though I’ve already done everything wrong.”
You nodded, fingers gently brushing through his dishevel hair, smoothing over the stray pieces with one last lingering kiss to send off a man with nothing left to lose, holding onto the last thread of hope. You heard him whispered something to his bodyguard before Junhoe hasten back your way, a hand outreaching for yours.
“Seems like everyone is gone. Go first.” He whispered gently with a soft kiss to your forehead, sending you off but not before letting his thumbs caressing delicately the few tears still lingering on your redden cheeks. “And about tonight… Should I come get you?”
“I’ll wait for your call.”
Your words lit up his heart, blanketing his soul into a comforting bundle of joy. He watched you walked away but this time, a smile lingered on his lips, blooming brighter than flowers of spring when you slyly snuck a glance only to broke out in laughter when you realized he had been staring this entire time. He knew full well that the elation carrying his heart amongst cloud nine this very moment was only temporary for hell awaited him in just as few hours. He needed this, needed to pretend for a second that all this was permanent and at the end of the night, you’d be waiting for him, counting down every second for that first date he had promised.
When the mighty pirate captain, Koo Junhoe, has no choice but to take an annoyingly talkative rich female on board, he immediately regrets his decision. Yet, money is more important to him than his own pride.
♦ Pairing: pirate captain!Junhoe x rich!Minji (OC)
♦ Genre: fluff, comedy, slight angst in one scene
♦ Words: 4.8k
♦ Dedicated to: @binkygee aka my beloved twin soul who deserves the world! Thank you so much for being in my life, I’m so happy to have met you! You are such a wonderful person and I wish you all the best! Have a beautiful Christmas, dear! ❤️
Koo Junhoe had never had any luck with women. Especially not with women who had a lot of money, and especially not with women who not only had a of money but who were also annoying blabbermouths.
But Koo Junhoe was a man who didn't give up easily, and one woman could not break his persistence. Not even Ryu Minji who was a pain in the ass, the nuisance he didn’t need in his life. Even though she had promised him a very generous amount of money to be shipped to the furthest island possible (for that, Junhoe was pretty sure she was either exaggerating to look more dramatic or she had lacked more braincells than he himself did), her crazy rich antics were slowly getting on everyone’s nerves.
“Cap’, do we really need to keep up with her behaviour?” Chanwoo, the youngest member of the crew, inquired rather indignantly, quirking a brow at the captain of the ship.
Junhoe merely let out a frustrated sigh in response.
“She has a lot of money,” he reasoned as if it would have made up for all the things Ryu Minji had done ever since she was on board with Junhoe’s crew, starting from demanding a cup of hot tea when she arrived, asking a dumbfounded man to wipe the dust off the wooden place she would have wanted to sit on and wanting to have lunch precisely at 1pm every single day. She was lucky that Yunhyeong, the chef, had the heart of an angel, and he was rather glad to be able to share his food with someone who would finally appreciate it. It’s not like anyone else on the ship didn’t like his food, but they were boys, they didn’t compliment each other so easily.
“How much did you lose on that last bet?” Chanwoo inquired a bit too curiously for Junhoe’s liking, even though he knew that all of his crew members knew about his deals; he bragged about them whenever he won, and he kept his mouth shut when he lost.
Small wonder the others got suspicious when they hadn’t heard about his bets for a while.
“A lot, matey. A lot,” Junhoe admitted honestly, patting the younger boy’s shoulder. He didn’t like having Minji on the ship either (especially because it was his ship, his territory), yet money was what he needed in that moment, and if she was willing to give him money, he would endure the way Minji acted up.
Of course, he should have known that something like this would happen from the moment the obviously rich female showed up in the port, quite short of breath and with a surprisingly little luggage. She looked like she had just run away from someone, her hair in a complete mess, her features alarmed. Even though she had flipped her hair back several times while she was talking down to Junhoe and his crew members to convince them to get her on board, Junhoe could sense that something was wrong. Why on Earth would someone as obviously rich as her who could have easily bought a ship for herself would ever deal with a pirate? He had made it very obvious that he was one, so either she was completely stupid (which wouldn't have come as a surprise) or she had an exceptionally good reason to run away. From whoever and for whatever reason she wanted.
However, he decided to shrug his unnecessary questions off since he had nothing to do with the petite female’s business. Not like he would have wanted anything to do with her, except her money. For a while, he could listen to his crew members complain about the girl, but when one day she started whining because they sailed too fast for her liking, Junhoe couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
“Look! This is my ship, and I’m the captain, so I do what I wanna do. Whether you like it or not,” he practically spat the words, scoffing at the absurd request of Minji.
She looked obviously hurt by his tone and the way he told her that her opinion didn’t matter in the least, yet instead of asking herself why would he treat her so poorly (like any other intelligent human being), she counter-attacked him instead.
“This is how you treat a lady’s request?” She raised an eyebrow at him, her voice rising. Donghyuk was merely passing by at that moment, but he couldn’t stop himself from glancing in Junhoe’s direction, seeing the way the girl stood in front of the captain, her hands firmly on her hips, looking amusingly bossy for such a short woman.
“Aye, wench, and I’m not even gonna change the way I act.”
Minji couldn’t believe her ears; her eyes became twice as wide as before, burning from fury and frustration. She was trying so hard to say something back to him, opening her mouth several times, anger boiling up inside of her. In the end, she only managed a sentence out, and even that seemed ridiculous.
“You uneducated buff!” She shouted at him, throwing her hands into the air. Donghyuk found this the perfect opportunity to leave the scene, knowing all too well that Junhoe’s reaction to the girl’s outburst wouldn’t mean any good anyway.
Junhoe merely laughed it off. He had been called a lot of things in his life (including some particularly nice and some not so nice ones) despite his surprisingly young age as a captain, and not so despite his job as a pirate. So hearing her (kind of) polite cursing, he laughed like there was no tomorrow.
“Blow me down!” He pretended to be shocked, the words rolling off his tongue ever so naturally. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he added, theatrically saluting to her before he went back to steering the wheel as casually as he always did.
“Do you even know what the word ‘buff’ means?” Minji retorted, challengingly wiggling her eyebrows.
She acted like a total know-it-all, probably to cover up the fact that she wasn’t the most intelligent girl on Earth. She may have been educated, but to Junhoe, intelligence didn’t equal knowledge. She was stupid enough to trust pirates, so he wouldn’t actually call her intelligent. Even though Junhoe’s crew didn’t like to use force against woman until it was completely necessary, it didn’t mean that she couldn’t be called names or be looked down while she was on the ship with them. (Both of which had already happened, but she was the one to blame for that, not his mateys.)
“How would I know?” Junhoe shrugged his shoulders, focusing on the vast sea stretching out in front of him instead of the girl. “I’m the Scourge of the 7 Seas!”
“The what?” The woman gasped, and the sight of her knitted eyebrows were much more hilarious than they should have been under other circumstances.
“See, we don’t speak the same language, wench.”
“Don’t call me wench!” She protested right away, puffing her chest out as if she had wanted to prove a point. “It’s making me feel inferior,” she added with a disappointed pout.
“Well, you are inferior here,” Junhoe admitted without a blink of an eye. Though he may have expected her to get mad at him, seeing her flushed face and the way her body was trembling in anger made it all worthwhile. She was such an amusing sight, whether she was annoyed, frustrated or confused. He was sure she could have made a really good street comedian.
“You… you…” She pointed a finger at him although her hands were trembling, so the effect she wanted to leave on him was anything but intimidating.
“Yes?” He quirked an eyebrow, enjoying the situation way too much.
“Just ship me to the next island and you’ll get your money.”
“With pleasure.” He tilted his head a little to add to the effect, making the woman fume even more as she turned on her heel and left the captain alone, throwing some deadly glances in his direction that he couldn’t see because he was staring far ahead, grinning to himself like the smug idiot he was.
Minji was a real pain in the ass. Seriously. Junhoe had never had more headaches in his whole life than he did during the last week while Minji was turning the life on the ship upside down. She was acting like she owned Junhoe's most precious treasure, and he couldn't have hated her more for that. If there was something he couldn't stand, it was the people who made him feel like he wasn't the owner of his own his ship.
The other guys were obedient, that's true, and he was glad he managed to recruit such a crew. Yet, it didn't mean that they had to be obedient when it came to Minji too. But that's exactly what they did.
They did what she asked even if it was ridiculous, totally unnecessary or almost impossible. It was as if everyone had been under her spell except the captain of the ship himself. Junhoe tried to convince himself that he would get rid of her soon, yet he knew that considering the alarming weather conditions and the area they had sailed through, it would take a couple more days until they could reach any habited island. It didn’t help either that even his crew members tried to talk him into understanding the girl a bit more. He didn’t lead a charity organization, he didn’t need to show empathy towards a woman who acted like he owned his ship.
Though it was definitely interesting what Yunhyeong had told him one day.
“You know, she’s not that bad of a person. She just wanted to get away from her family, and I can totally understand why,” the chef remarked as if he was telling a story, looking up at Junhoe at the end of the sentence.
“What? Are you on her side?” he huffed, putting his hands on his chest. Wasn’t it enough that the other crew members were against him, now even the closest ones were trying to ask him to act nice? Hell no.
“No.” Yunhyeong shook his head immediately and raised his hands in front of him to indicate that he wasn’t there to cause any kind of misunderstanding or start a war of words. “I’m just saying that it couldn’t have been easy on her that she was forced into a marriage with a man who was treating her in an inappropriate way,” the chef babbled on and on, spilling the beans without noticing the slight raise of Junhoe’s eyebrows.
“What?”
“Maybe if you hadn’t been so obsessed with arguing with her, you could have got to know the same.”
With that being said, the chef went back to his own territory aka the little kitchen on the upper floor of the ship, and Junhoe was left dumbfounded in the middle of the open area, lips slightly parted hearing the other boy’s words. Sure, Yunhyeong could always get along well with others, he didn’t have that defensive mechanism in him that the captain of the ship had built during the years to avoid getting hurt and feeling guilty for every sinful thing he had ever done. He wouldn’t have become a respectful leader if he had left his emotions get in the way.
However, the fact that Minji was willing to share something so personal with Yunhyeong surprised him. But of course, it could have also happened that she had just spilled the beans without intending to tell him anything. She was a real blabbermouth after all.
After their conversation, Junhoe examined the woman a bit more in depth, looking for any sign that would indicate what she must have gone through before she got on the ship. On the other hand, he couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary, anything that would prove that she had a better reason to run away than to order the members of a pirate ship as she pleased.
Not until the day they had encountered some sirens did his opinion change.
Minji was downstairs, looking at her nails, calling for someone (anyone) for the fifth time already. She was getting bored without a book, without anyone to talk to and without anything to look at. The ship felt like a prison sometimes, and she was definitely missing her grandiose room. Though whenever she thought of her home, a chill ran down her spine, reminding her why she had run away. She didn’t need a man in her life, let alone a man with no feelings, a man who would only use her to give birth to their child and a man who was also 24 years older than her.
Minji knew that not anyone can get what they want but she couldn’t stand it anymore. Her father had literally sold her to that old man just for the sake of more money, that’s why it wasn’t a surprise that she wanted to escape before she could even be properly sold. She didn’t want to step a foot into the old man’s mansion.
As stubborn as she was, she was willing to do anything to achieve what she wanted, so even if it meant that she had to bear multiple noisy and uneducated man drinking whisky and sometimes speaking a totally different language, let it be. It was still better than her arranged marriage.
Though it didn’t mean that she didn’t have her own requirements and preferences. She didn’t like if she was left alone for a long time, that’s why speaking to the ship’s chef was a pleasant pastime for her.
However, she was now left alone in one of the cabins downstairs and the ship was quieter than ever. She had no idea what must have happened, so she tried to call out for someone – to no avail.
“Come on! Can’t anyone tell me why we are slowing down? And why we had just stopped right now?” She shrieked as the ship had seemed to come to a halt. She immediately started suspecting that something was definitely not going as planned, but she couldn’t suppress her sarcasm either. “I swear these men can’t do anything without a woman on board.”
With that being said, she got to her feet and walked up the stairs to reach the upper floor. What she saw there made her blood run cold in an instant. All the crew members who were there seemed to be hypnotized by some unseen force, their faces showing no emotions, their features numb. They either wandered by themselves or looked at the waves of the sea very, very close to the edge of the ship.
As Minji walked closer, she realized what exactly they looked at. It wasn’t the sea they looked at; it was what was in the sea. To be precise, who were in the sea.
The waves hid their bodies well, but Minji could tell that they were sirens; sirens with flawless skin and seducing gazes. To her, their voices sounded awful but to the men around her, it seemed like it was like a lullaby; they were under its effect, they were ready to throw themselves off the edge just to get closer to the beautiful creatures.
Minji didn’t think her plan through when she noticed Junhoe walking closer to the edge of the ship. She rushed to his side, trying to wake him up, gently (and then not so gently) punching him, his face, his chest, his side… Junhoe still acted like she was invisible, not taking notice of her presence, nor her attempts to stop him. She had no idea how to get him out of this state, she had never even seen sirens in the first place. She wasn’t used to such dangers situations, that’s why she was helpless when it came to good solutions.
In the end, she did what seemed like her only choice. She didn’t think it through, she merely kissed the pirate with all her might. It wasn’t pleasant, of course, it was more like desperate. But it had an effect because Junhoe’s eyes widened as soon as she sealed his lips, and he seemed to have come back to life judged by his dumbfounded expression.
Minji was the first to back away after she saw that she had succeed, taking a few tentative steps back.
“Wait, what? What’s going on? Why did you kiss me?” he asked confusedly, looking at her with countless questions in his eyes. He was just coming out of his whole hypnotized state, so Minji knew she should have been a bit more patient, but he wasn’t the only one who needed help.
“I’m trying to save your life if you can’t see!” she shrieked, gesturing wildly but the pirate’s eyes could only see her and her rosy-coloured lips.
“By trying to kiss me?” He raised an eyebrow in question, her statement obviously making him even more confused. Minji’s patience was already wearing thin, she didn’t need the pirate’s useless questions to add more to her building frustration.
“If you looked around you instead of arguing why a pretty woman like me ever laid her lips on your dirty ones, you could see that we are in the middle of a siren attack!”
“Hey, my lips aren’t even‒” Junhoe protested fervently, but stopped halfway when he realized what she had tried to imply. “You said what?”
“Oh, these bloody men!” Minji huffed, not believing that she was the only one who had more than two brain cells on this damn ship. Men really thought of themselves as the dominant sex, but she wasn’t sure they could ever be able to lead anything without asking for a woman’s help. Seeing Junhoe and the other males on the ship, she started questioning how they even got there without losing a member here and there.
“Just help me distract your crew members or tie them to something until we are out of the siren zone!” Minji practically ordered him because he didn’t look like he took the situation seriously even though his eyes were roaming around.
“Do you want to distract them too by kissing them?” He turned back to her, slight amusement plastered on his annoyingly handsome face.
“You ungrateful buff!”
“Okay, okay, I’ll handle it from now on! Get anyone you can from downstairs, and ask them to help us out!”
“With pleasure,” Minji spitted as she rolled her eyes, not believing that it took so long for the captain to come up with a reasonably good plan.
She hurried down the stairs, looking for anyone who might be able to help them. Luckily, she found a sleeping boy on one of the wooden beds, so even if he wasn’t particularly happy to be woken up, he immediately ran upstairs when he heard what was going on. Then, Minji even found Yunhyeong who was in the middle of cooking (probably coming up with a new recipe), small wonder he didn’t realize that there was something going on outside of his precious kitchen. When he alarmed the chef, he looked so guilty as if he had been the one who asked the sirens to come by. Together, they went back to assist Junhoe as he finally came back to his senses and did everything he could to save his crew members. After they took care of the hypnotized boys, Junhoe focused on navigating the ship instead, so that they would be out of the danger zone sooner.
When all males were back to their own selves, Minji couldn’t help but let out a relieved sigh. Maybe she did care about them after all. Maybe that kiss with Junhoe was worth it after all.
Minji didn’t want a proper thank you. She didn’t even want a nice sentence coming from Junhoe’s mouth, but at least she wanted a good damn word for saving the males’ asses. She may have been looked down because she was a woman and she was whining like a child (she was aware of that, bad family example, that’s it), but she felt like she deserved better after the siren attack, especially from the captain of the ship.
On the other hand, he seemed to be the only one who wasn’t thankful to her. Everyone on the ship thanked her or at least treated her better after they got to know what she had done for the crew (except the kiss part, neither Junhoe, nor Minji wanted to highlight this particular piece of information). Everyone but Junhoe himself.
It wasn’t until after a quite uneventful day that the captain did say something about what had happened before.
Minji was reading by herself in her “room” (a random corner that was said to be her room), elbows resting on the wooden table with the book in between. She didn’t fancy joining the pirates’ nightly conversations because they usually ended up in overexcited pirate songs and too much rum. Instead, she liked to have the time to herself, wondering about the what ifs just like this particular night.
“Hey. Can I sit down?”
The all-too-familiar voice asked from behind and she couldn’t help but let out a weary sigh. No matter how uncharacteristically gentle the captain’s words were, she really wasn’t in the mood for a conversation with him. Not after complete days of radio silence.
“It’s your ship, isn’t it? You do what you wanna do. Isn’t that right?” She raised an eyebrow challengingly, quoting the words the young man had spitted at her not long after she got on the ship. Well, he wasn’t the most hostile captain but at least he didn’t throw her out.
Junhoe also let out a sigh. Indeed, when two adamant people got together who could suffocate each other any minute, it was difficult to find a balance and let both of them have a say in the matter without trying to kill each other.
“Look, wench…” The captain started and not until he caught Minji’s dead glare, did he realize how he had called her. “I mean, look…” He hovered over the last part of the sentence but decided to drop his idea in the idea. It didn’t matter how he addressed her, what he was about to say was more interesting than mere nicknames. “I think we misunderstood each other,” he admitted bluntly, his sincerity not moving the girl’s heart.
“I would say we have quite different manners.”
“We can put it that way, too.” Junhoe was quick to react as he didn’t want to anger her even more, especially because he knew she deserved a proper thank you after the siren attack or at least she deserved to feel valued.
Yet, as an emotionally malfunctioning jerk he was, it was difficult for him to reach out for her after she had practically saved their asses. So what did he do? Instead of trying to talk to her somehow, he didn’t say anything. So typical of the almighty Koo Junhoe. He really didn’t know how to act around females.
“So uhm… thanks for what you’ve done for the crew.” For me, he wished to add but the confession was already weighing down on him, and his heart wasn’t sure it would be able to bear even more.
Minji’s features softened a bit upon hearing his words, but she was still more tense than usual, and he had no idea why. He really didn’t know how to approach women, so it was no surprise he couldn’t decipher Minji either.
“I may be annoying, and I may be just a woman, but I have a heart, and I couldn’t just let you all suffer like that. Let me be the only woman who causes you headache. You don’t need sirens for that,” she explained with a playful edge to her words, making the pirate laugh for the first time they met.
Even though he would have said it differently himself, he was sure that in her own annoying way, the gorgeous female was really taking care of them. They may have been upset at her for telling them to stop drinking too much rum or to stop shouting at the seagulls when they had already become tipsy, but maybe she did it in a loving way, they were just not used to such form of affection.
Though he was more interested in her future plans now that she seemed to have let go of the grudge against him.
"What are you gonna do?" Junhoe inquired, subtle curiosity easily detected from his voice.
"What do you mean?" She counter-attacked although she knew what he was trying to imply. She merely wanted to save herself some time until she could properly think over her answer.
"What are your plans after you leave the ship? Cause we'll arrive at a port city soon," the pirate explained, his intense stare piercing through her heart. She knew that it was a question she couldn't avoid, yet deep down, she didn't want to think about the future.
She was already accustomed to Yunhyeong's childish whining when the boys didn't compliment his new creations, she grew fond of Donghyuk's smile that outdid even the Sun itself, she was used to seeing Bobby sleep anywhere and everywhere he could, she didn’t even blink an eye when Chanwoo was telling childish jokes, and she was no longer unfamiliar with Junhoe's grumpiness in the morning. Or the way his eyes widened, and his jaw dropped comically when something didn't go as he had planned. Or the deadpan expression he fathomed when someone said something slightly insulting to him. Or the duality of his interior and exterior. Or the way he raffled his hair when the wind blew too strong. Or the smooth way (even smoother than usual) he talked after drinking too much rum.
Maybe she would miss all of these if she decided to leave the ship and with it the crew itself.
"I don't know, I didn't give it too much thought." Minji shrugged, her fingers playing with the hem of her dress. She knew it was her time to go, but the captain’s soon felt too soon all of a sudden.
"You can stay, you know," Junhoe offered rather seriously, but before she could comment on it, he added something more, taking back the serious edge of his words. "We won't throw you out of the ship."
"That's very kind of you." She let out a little giggle, letting the conversation soothe her nerves. She could see the sincerity in the pirate’s eyes (something that she had never expected to see in his orbs), and even if she wouldn’t admit it to herself, she was glad that he would like to see her on the ship in the future as well.
Maybe she wasn’t the only one who didn’t regret that kiss.
“I’m serious,” Junhoe stated matter-of-factly, earning yet another giggle from the girl.
“I know.”
“But of course, we won’t keep you back from leaving the ship if that’s what you want.”
“I know.” Minji nodded, her lips raised into a cheeky smile as she watched the always so confident and smug captain babble in front of her. It was a rather comical sight, and she enjoyed every moment of it, especially because she knew he was being embarrassed because of her.
“But if you want to stay, I can’t take it anymore and I have to tell you that‒”
“I know.”
“But I didn’t even finish my sentence,” Junhoe quirked an eyebrow in question, examining the girl’s features. She may or may not have known what he was about to say, but it didn’t really matter who would take the first step. She was willing to do it. After all, she saved his ass already, why wouldn’t she save him from another five minutes of embarrassment?
“I know.” She bobbed her head, then rose from her seat and closed the gap between her and the pirate. Junhoe was seemingly taken aback by her bold move but he couldn’t deny the way he tried to gulp down his nervousness.
Minji sealed his lips in the next moment, their kiss definitely more passionate and less desperate than the first one. Now, Junhoe was also having his fair share, enjoying it to the very end. The kiss was just perfect this time; it was exactly what they both needed after the recent events and what their hearts yearned for ever since they met.
After all, love and hate were only a tad bit apart.
stuff i’m working on and plan to do for the future
i’ve made a lot of empty promises the past couple of weeks. i’ve said that the third part of the yeosang sasaeng fic would go up sometime this week but i’ve been super busy with school. i said that the junhoe fic would go up this week as well but once again, ive been super busy this week.
so because there a lot of you that follow me (122 as i’m writing this) for my content (hopefully), i’ve decided to make a list of things that i’m working on and their status and things that i plan to work on.
works in progress
chapter three of “biggest fan” (sasaeng kang yeosang [ateez] and female idol reader)
summary: when you left your family to go to south korea to become an idol, you definitely didn’t anticipate being kidnapped by your “biggest fan”.
status: i’m almost done with the first half but unsure if i like where it’s going
“ah, ah imagine” scenario (koo junhoe [ikon] x female makeup artist reader)
summary: when you were first hired as a makeup artist for ikon, junhoe thought about what his life would be like if you were a part of it but he never imagined it would be like this. (based on a single line from loona member choerry’s “love cherry motion”)
status: halfway finished
no definite title yet multi-chapter fic (kim hongjoong [ateez] x black female music producer reader, [several??i’m not sure yet] alternate love interests x [as previously described] reader)
summary: people are a lot more bold with their statements when they think you can’t understand them. for example: right before you shook hongjoong’s hand, he announced to everyone in the room that you’re even prettier up close.
status: started but unsure if i like where it’s going
“bucket list” scenario (sohn youngjae [the boyz] x female reader)
summary: it’s your final year in high school with your best friend eric and you guys haven’t done anything exciting over the past three years. time to change that before graduation.
status: started (a while ago) but unsure if i like where it’s going
stuff i plan to work on
“culvers, ignorance, and other things that happen when you take an idol to your school prom” (not a definite title) scenario (sohn youngjae [the boyz] x female reader)
summary: when you jokingly tweeted the boyz to have eric go with you to your school’s prom after all of your friends laughed at you for not having a date, you didn’t think he would respond and you definitely didn’t think he would agree to go with you. (there’s most likely going to be a lot of illinois/midwestern united states references)
Can I get an ikon Ju-ne fic, like fluff/smut??? Thanks :) 💕💕💕
Yes, of course, you may @3rararacha!

“You can’t stay in bed all day,” June chuckled, stopping in the doorway and leaning his shoulder against the frame.
“I can, too,” you retorted as you stuck out your tongue defiantly. “Just watch me.”
“I would rather watch you do other things.”
“Oh?” you smirked. “Like what?”
“Like... getting out of bed and eating and showering and doing normal human activities.”
You frowned in disappointment, hoping he was going to say something more exciting than that. “I don’t have to go anywhere, and if I don’t have to leave the house, why can I not just stay in bed?”
June shook his head, rolling his eyes playfully at you. “If that’s what you want, then...” He knew he wouldn’t be able to stop you.
“Have you ever stayed in bed all day before?” you asked as you sat up and eyed him suspiciously.
“Probably, but... I can’t remember the last time I did.”
“...Do you have anything to do or anywhere to go today?”
“No,” he answered, narrowing his eyes. “Why?”
You simply pulled back the covers and patted the spot on the bed next to you.
He laughed, but all you had to do was wiggle your eyebrows and beckon him over with your index finger for him to break down. He crawled into bed next to you, immediately snuggling up as close as he could and wrapping his arms around you tightly.
“See?” you said softly after you’d both settled in. June had cuddled up next to you, resting his head on your chest and letting out very content-sounding hums as you played with the hair on the back of his head. “Isn’t this much better than whatever you were doing before?”
“Well, considering I was doing laundry, yes. But just about everything is better than laundry.”
“True,” you agreed. “But this is definitely much, much better, right?”
“Mmm,” he murmured, burying his face in your neck.
You laid there for a while, talking quietly here and there, but mostly just cuddling.
And then, when June nuzzled your neck as he adjusted himself to be more comfortable, you felt his lips press against your skin.
You bit your lip to hold back a smile, curling your fingers into his hair as a way to let him know you would very much like for him to continue.
He kissed your neck again, letting his lips linger this time. You tilted your head slightly to grant him more access, and once you did, he gently pushed you onto your back.
As his lips moved from your neck to your jaw to your lips to your chest and then down the rest of your body... you were more than satisfied with the decision you’d made to stay in bed all day.
And, after a little while, you were more than satisfied in another way.
