I can now finally, officially say, IT'S TIIIIME!

I am so beyond excited to announce the beginning of the 2024 MDZS Junior Quarter Bingo!🥳

The sign ups this year were phenomenal, and I can't wait to see what everyone does with their cards.

I hope everyone has a lot of fun, creating and sharing (remember recommending and sharing with credit to the original creators, is fine for this event too, just leave them a little something nice while you do).

With that said I'm beyond excited to introduce:

The MDZS Junior Quartet Bingo!

How it works

This event, hosted by yours truly, is open to readers (yes readers!) and all content creators! From fics to edits, art to playlist. If you put a half ounce of creative thinking into it, then it counts toward your bingo! (Don't forget share it and the card)

When you fill out the request form you will receive a randomized card with different prompts in the standard 5x5 format.

You may use multiple prompts on one piece. For example: if your card has 5+1 and soulmate au, and you write a 5+1, Soulmate au then you can cross off those boxes!

You may not, however, use one piece for multiple cards. For example: if you those prompts were on separate cards, and you read a 5+1, soulmate fic you'd have to decide which card to put the point toward. Yes, even if they're two cards for the same character, or two different characters who appear in the same fic.

And that's it! The request form will be open from now until February 28th. The event will run from March 1st - 31st. Go forth and read, write, draw, create to your hearts' content!

Quick recap of the rules/how this'll go:

You can use any method you prefer to fill your card(s). Be that reading, writing, drawing, crafting, however you choose.

Yes, you can use one card for more than one piece. Example: write separate fanfics for different prompts/tropes. Or read some tropes and maybe draw for others on the same card.

You may not use multiple cards on one piece. Example: if you want to draw a modern AU found family comic, and have Modern AU on one card, and Found family on another, you have to choose one card. Whether they're for the same character, or they're different characters.

As you'll see on the form, you can request multiple cards.

Please, please, please, remember to tag things appropriately. NSFW, GDV, etc.

I shouldn't have to say this one, but please keep all pieces focused on the junior represented by the card(s) you choose.

Now, nobody laugh. My WIPs are always a mess😅 This isn't quite done but it'd be a shame to keep Róuqíng's gremlin energy to myself for another minute. I hope to post the actual fic this week but for now, this'll have to be enough

For the following squares: Outsider POV and Crackfic

Had it not been for the laws of their society, Ouyang Róuqíng may have very well kowtowed before Wei Wuxian and his son –anyone with half a working eye could see the Lan boy was indeed his. Or kissed them. Really, it was up in the air, that one. The boy still had the tiniest bit of chub to his cheeks, after all. It would be a crime to not at least pinch them. 

From her elevated position in the shades pavilion, Róuqíng contemplated what her next course of action would be. Beside her, as though reading her thoughts, her handmaiden sighed in exasperation. They'd had many discussions on appropriate behaviour regarding this situation and her approach. Often well into the night; sometimes their darling got involved. Alas, her mind was set. Much to her poor, sweet maid's continued exasperation and their darlings' amusement.

And why, you may be wondering, would the eldest daughter of a sect leader, wish to engage in such demeaning and lowly actions? Róuqíng huffed in amusement as she averted her eyes from her handmaid. It was simple; there in the courtyard below was her answer with his brush firmly grasped, and an excited gleam in his eyes.

Before Wei Wuxian, her little Zizhen had always been… isolated in his classes. He chose to focus more on the literary arts, and talisman and array crafting than the other boys. And his heart. Róuqíng closed her eyes in remembered distress. Her baby brother had always had a soft heart.

She hummed a contemplative note as she watched Zizhen with his friends. They were deeply focused on Wei Wuxian, who was himself excitedly going over a lesson on talisman crafting. 

As the oldest daughter of a cultivation sect, minor though they were, she was well versed in the basics. As her mother's child, she knew far more than a typical oldest daughter would. Even so, she had never seen talismans like the ones Wei Wuxian was crafting. It couldn’t hurt to get a closer look. 

“Madam!” Her poor, long suffering maid hissed frantically as she scrambled to keep up. Róuqíng entered the courtyard and beelined for the little group. ‘Oh! Do really do look like ducklings!’ She thought in amusement.

"Da-jie!" Zizhen shouted as soon as she came into his line of sight. The group of multicoloured ducklings and their teacher rose to greet her. 

A chorus of "Da-guniang" rose from the little group, and Róuqíng needed to call upon every ounce of decorum forced into her body to not squeal on the spot. Some of the little ones motioned as though preparing to bow and she simply couldn't have that.

"Please," she called out to them. "There's no need to bow." Their little ribboned heads rose –and of course it was the Lans!– and stared between her and their senior, aghast at the thought.

"I am here simply as an eldest sister. You are all a-Zhen's friends, are you not?" When she received warm nods, she clapped. "Then that settles it!"

Not doing too bad me thinks. Only took two hours give or take (plus a week😅) Went with art this time.

A bit cliché but if it ain't broke don't fix it, amiright😂 Night Hunt gone wrong. Zizhen gets turned into a toddler.

Honestly was hoping I'd never have to send this update, but alas, here we are. I won't be able to do the Bingo this year. At least, not at the usual time.

This semester is seriously kicking my ass and I've been sick almost two weeks (on and off) at this point. I'm very sorry. I had so much fun planning the event, and even had plans for more but right now I just can't do them and maintain my health.

I hope to start them up again eventually. Thank you to everyone who participated before and to anyone who would have been looking out for it this year. Yall made this so, so much fun.
