References to the DR light novels in Danganronpa S

1) During the opening sequence of the game, Fujisaki acknowledges that Matsuda from Danganronpa Zero - the “Ultimate Neurologist” - was instrumental in designing the Neo World Program. (Bonus reference to Miaya Gekkogahara from DR3, too.)

2) When taking Kirigiri through Development mode, if you talk to Asahina during the bonfire event, Kirigiri mentions that she’s used nicknames before - just not with a classmate of her own age. This seems to reference the fact that, in the Danganronpa Kirigiri novels, Kyoko usually uses a nickname when speaking to Yui Samidare (who is three years older than Kyoko).

3) The unlockable final cut scene for “Junkuro” Ikusaba in Development Mode pretty clearly references Danganronpa IF. In both the climax of that light novel AND in this scene, Mukuro both A) comes to accept the affection she harbors towards her classmates and B) uses the logic of “if I turn against Junko, my betrayal will give her great despair, so I’m actually helping Junko!” to justify her possible face-turn.
