my wizard, placing the romance in necromancer
Helloo please do tell me more about how the relationship or bonding between Jason and Jace is. Does Jason think his kid is annoying?? Or does Jason see him as a mini him? And does Jace look up on Jason?
ob my gOD
i can picture their relationship being a bit rocky since the start, but you can't really blame Jason for being sketched out by this random kid who rolled up to his door one day going "hey, i'm your son, can we talk?" now can you? Still, with that being said, Jason doesn't remember what happened 19 years prior until he really took a look at Jace's eyes. And then it hits him
I don't really consider Jason a good father, even so much as a big brother he doesn't do much with Riley (which is pretty sad ngl) but I like to believe that Jason sees himself in the kid in a way that makes him more patient and sad for him. He also sees Riley in him and often sighs because of how cheerful he is, exhausted by his energy but motivated not to ruin that because, to some degree he really grows to like Jace for who he is as his son. Still, if he could do better as a person? After decades of mistake after mistake? I'm sure Jason would be a better version of himself just for his kid, especially with how naive he is.
Obviously, with Jace not knowing much about Jason and seeing him just be a bad-ass in Rook (to get Ava) and in Kyrat? He wouldn't know better than to think his father is a big bad-ass of the century who kicks ass and kills people. With being oblivious to how much of a jerk Jason tends to get though, the side that Ajay has, shines through, and it only takes Ava to go, "Hey, you're treating my brother like shit!" before Jace realizes Jason isn't really a perfect person. Of course, Jason is forced to try and be better, and the more he gets to know Jace the more he's determined to be like that, especially with how he's about to meet Ajay.
