You heard him fellas, dignified bears don’t sulk. HA. They laugh in the face of hardship. With all the dignified-ness due to their noble bearing. Mhm... Yeah... Justified anger and all that. Though that child... Steve must say, is quite- ‘adept’ at causing said justified anger. Thinking about it, those house rules Phil had about not mauling people? Well... Those were just guidelines right?
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but stop stereotyping people aged under 45 as complaining and doing nothing.
There are people who complain about injustice and phone their local politicians, volunteer for soup kitchens, drive disabled people to medical appointments, people who donate to charities and vote for the right people.
Complaining or talking about injustice doesn’t always equal doing nothing to make things better.
Youth and middle age don’t necessarily equal inaction.
Please don’t interact with me if you don’t agree with me.
I think it is good I'm not super social or open . I'm much happier with limited small circle of friends. I would love to live like I only assume is an ideal life that people i admire live .
They have their small circle of interesting and compatible people they've picked.
Picked especially for their space and likely also people who are respectful of them and don't cross their boundaries or gaslight.
That is a big 1 .
I have had friends who crossed my boundaries and manipulated me . Although I assume maybe because I've been missing out on connections with other ace bisexuals that they likely may have gone through the same trauma . Like that is likely how people came up with the unicorn hunter terminology for reasons ..
I'm not trying to center this around identity either but I feel ace people may understand my experiences more than someone who is into casual dating and poly etc. I kinda struggle with speaking up about my needs in situations like that and I don't like situation-ships either.
People a lot of the time didn't care what I wanted or what makes me feel safe etc.
I've been through a lot of assault abuse and coercion from people I trusted whom betrayed me and now any time I see them if I haven't already blocked them with no explanation ..
Just seeing how oblivious to what they did to me that they are, it makes me so angry and hurt . They don't deserve a sensitive sweet person like me . They don't even understand.
And there's more than just that about that stuff but I guess I just don't bother setting boundaries or explaining myself and my point of view with people that don't care about how i feel .
It feels like a waste of time. I would much rather avoid them for the rest of my life than repair or explain what went wrong ..
I'm creating this picture in my head of a circle of friends that might not even be possible or at reach at this current moment.
Of friendships that feel safe and heal me and remind me how important boundaries and informed consent is in real life .
There's healing experiences and genuinely fun outings and adventures to be had in the future. One day I'll find people that really click with me who actually appreciate and enjoy what I have to contribute to this world and as an artist.
I haven't even lived the good times coming my way. I haven't even met the people who will protect me and have my back and actually know my true story yet.
Even though some have misinterpreted me and written me off instead of understanding the chaos I've survived somehow. They try to blot me out w their own narrative even though that isn't a reflection of my true character.
Others will understand my journey and path and they won't mistreat me the way others did and still do . They will be different and better .
I'm unsure of how to end this but I'm looking forward to meeting and learning who my true people are and being loved for who I really am and letting go of all the hurt I've internalized because that isn't who I am .. Things will get better and I will be safe to be my true self one day because the right people are in my life.
What Does the Bible Teach or Say About Anger?
What Does the Bible Teach or Say About Anger?
From a Biblical Perspective
The word normally used in the Bible to refer to an emotion considered sinful. Psalm 37:8, for example, commands: “Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!” Jesus paralleled anger with murder when he said that “every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment” (Mt 5:22) just as if he had actually committed the murder he felt in his angry…

Title: One Step Closer
Summary: Cisco lets loose on Dibny. Due to unhealthy views hammered into him as a kid, he regrets it. Not set during or after any episode in particular.

“I may have minorly misjudged the situation. But, hazards of the job, am I right?” Ralph rubs the back of his neck and shrugs.
Cisco bursts, “I can’t believe this! Is that all you have to say for yourself?”
“Uh… well. It's not like you guys --”
“Your selfish, reckless behavior almost got Harry killed!”
Cisco’s throat is pained from how loud he just yelled. He clenches his teeth and fists at the same time. He wants to throw something. He understands now Harry’s attraction to doing that. Barry and Caitlin freeze with uncertainty. Ralph stares wide-eyed at his wild gestures.
Cisco just couldn't stand the idea of losing someone else. Especially the one he loved most in the multiverse and would miss more than a lost limb.
Harry approaches him with careful steps. He reaches for Cisco. Tears burn in his eyes. What has he done? He leaves before anyone can speak. He bites his lip to prevent the sob escaping. He retreats to his workshop. He stands in the middle of the room, swinging his arms to and fro uselessly. He closes his eyes and takes a few deep breaths.
His stomach burns with shame and guilt. He might vomit. Ralph is new to this. Cisco is neither the team leader nor the most experienced hero on the team. Who does he think he is? Going around, deciding and judging whose actions are unheroic. He nearly got Barry killed once, because of his stupid cold gun. He has no room to talk. A memory filters in.
He had shouted at a teacher in school. The teacher had ignored someone bullying him. He even had the gall to give Cisco detention for disruption. He was at home, his father had slapped him. His father had told him that his unbridled show of anger at school was uncouth and would get him in trouble. He had gotten mouthy again, arguing that his father’s violent reaction hadn't set a good example. He’d been grounded for months.
He inhales sharply, pressing his fingers to the bridge of his nose. He won't cry.
On the plus side his bully had left him alone for a while. The bruise on Cisco’s face had been similar to the one on the other boy’s ribs. But that was the only time his father hit him. He knew that Cisco was right, and he didn't want it proven further.
“Cisco?”
Cisco whips around. It’s Harry. Harry, who can see his shaking hands and watery eyes. He's carrying an ice pack for some reason. He comes into Cisco’s space. Harry places a cautious hand on his shoulder. Cisco assumes Harry is concerned by his ugly display. He's usually better at hiding it, but the stress has gotten to him.
“I'm sorry,” Cisco hurries to say. “I shouldn't have --”
Harry gives his head a little shake. “You did nothing wrong. No one in that situation deserves an apology.”
“But I --”
Harry cuts him off quick and says, “Many people lose their tempers now and then. Dibny deserved it.”
Cisco stares at him. He glances at the ice pack to avoid his eyes. What is that for? Harry notices his gaze. He reveals his own reddened knuckles beneath.
“At least you didn't punch him,” Harry explains with a chuckle. A soft laugh escapes Cisco.
“What did you do that for Harry?”
“Dibny had some rude remarks after you left the room.” That is all Harry says on the matter. Cisco is thankful. He doesn’t need to know the exact words.
“Defending my honor? My hero.” Cisco smiles wider.
Harry pulls him into a lingering embrace. A Harry Hug is rare to receive. He revels in the gentleness. Cisco cups his cheeks to kiss him. He resumes grinning when Harry breaks it.
“Once we deal with this meta idiot, how about a Star Trek marathon? You and I can have a trivia contest afterward.”
“Can we hit the ice cream place too?”
“If you must, Ramon.”
Cisco nods and kisses him again, it’s brief yet fervent. “Thanks, Babe.”
Harry always knows how to cheer him up. They return to the cortex. Cisco glares at Ralph. He follows Harry’s advice and resists the urge to verbally prostrate. Ralph has the grace to look sheepish. The large bruise and bloody nose lift his mood. He really shouldn't encourage Harry though. But there is a dark satisfaction. He's earned it from years of being told to keep his head down and mouth shut, from the toxicity of not being able to express himself. He can be free at last.
Harry raises his eyebrows in Raph’s direction. He shifts and stares at his feet. Caitlin coughs, causing him to look up. She scowls and points at Cisco. Harry gestures at Cisco with his chin. Ralph clears his throat. “I'm sorry for upsetting you Cisco. Mistakes were made. By, uh, me, alone.”
Cisco salutes him and sits at computer. He's not ready to forgive him and that's alright. Harry kisses the top of his head and holds his hand under the table. It cements Cisco’s conviction. He returns with a firm squeeze. It's a quiet thanks, for Harry's unending love and support.
