It was hot. Fuck, it was hotter than usual today. Anubis came to Phenac to drink from the fountain, but the exhaustion of being chased down by Cipher, little sleep, and a rumbling belly made it nearly impossible for her to keep going.
She was so exhausted, she couldn’t even make it to the fountain to drink. Instead, she sat on the shaded side of a building, panting and sweating from the heat.
A human voice made her visibly flinch, not expecting anyone to take notice of her. Hmmm... She had never seen this individual before. Crimson eyes seemed to scan him for any sign of a threat before Anubis let out a loud sigh of relief. The Aura of this individual was a rarity to her. He merely wanted to help, and she knew she needed it.
She sighed, relaxing her tired body and giving a nod to his words to move her. She needed food and water, not to mention shelter from the heat of the day. From the way this human’s Aura flared, she knew that he wasn’t a part of Cipher. Those individuals tended to have purple auras to match their dark hearts.
Anubis stared up at the human, eyes filled with swirling emotions. With a tentative hand, she began to reach out to him hesitantly. Her arm was shaking slightly due to how tired she was, but she wanted to let the human know that it was okay to move her.
