you know, i actually once theorized myself the flames you get could depend on your needs/wants as a person instead of your personality the way it's common and popular in the fandom, so i'm all for your take too. and i do think it could work in canon actually!

i mean, strictly canonically speaking your dying regret simply triggers your flames if it's strong enough independently of what the regret is about or the easiest way to deal with it, but it's a very little reach to do from there to your idea. it fits right in with the dying will flames lore we got as a whole in the manga too. and i agree it'd be super cool and fun to play with in fanon, because it'd put more weight and meaning into your dying regret and the type of flames you get as a result, and also would make for an instant “backstory” for anyone who's active, and would give instant insight into the type of person they are.

because like, two people faced to the same regret might not go about resolving it the same way. or two people faced to the same regret do end up with the same type of flames, but it could still mean something different from each other, and in this case it would give you instant insight into their dynamic on top of that (i'm thinking tsuna and xanxus having both sky flames, which in this au would be even less obvious than tsuna and dino being both sky for example). OR someone being faced to a regret but not ending up with the type of flames you thought they were more likely to get as a result of it, and in this case it'd give you instant, surprise, deeper insight into their character, and also in a way instant character development.

okay you know what, i actually LOVE this idea! there's a lot you can do with it character-wise, and it's right up my alley, so you’re welcome to tell me more if you want/there's more to it!

14. What are your gender goals? They don’t have to be transition goals, but you can focus on plans for coming out, presenting in a certain way for the first time, or taking on a new label.

As far as transition goals go, I'm hoping to simply stay on testosterone. I'm not sure on anything else just yet. I'm kind of in a weird place in my life and I don't have access to many resources, so a lot of life plans are on hold for a while.

I'm not planning a big coming out to anyone outside of the internet because I tend to only be out to other queer folks and to everyone else, I'm just a trans guy which is fine for me.

I'd like to start using the asteresque label a lot more and experimenting with different ways of discussing that aspect of myself.

2. What’s something about your gender that doesn’t make sense to anyone but you?

Hmm. I hadn't really thought about it. I talk so much about my gender that I feel like the only people it wouldn't make sense to are people outside my intended audience.

Hello hellooooo (that's probably good bc at this point I have rewatched the show so many times in random order, there are only some big main events I remember as being spoilers lol)

The character I least understand:

Well I suck at Math, so. 🤣 But maybe Liz? (she comes in later seasons.) Like... I just want to shake her a lot of the time. XD I love how the team welcomes and supports her, and I think she is really good for Don in how they both learn more about themselves and what they want from each other, but she just never really grew on me and I dislike a lot of choices she makes. I think there were some failures in writing her that kept me from connecting with her.

Interactions I enjoyed the most:

Don and Charlie, 100%. I also love love the teeny tiny interactions we get with Colby and Alan, I think I or someone else has waxed poetic in a post about the importance of the activist and the soldier dynamics they have going on.

The character who scares me the most:

Ian. 😅 I love him but he scares me, and for good reason. XD But also, Don when he's angry.

The character who is the most like me:

Larry, I think. XD "My memory is a memory" and picky food habits and infatuation with the relationship between Creator and creation, and love of teaching and space. I don't have a bathtub (or pool) sadly, but I do my best thinking in the shower, so there's also that. XD Could also say David in how he is committed to the rules (usually) and his beautiful loyalty and how hard it is for him to recover when that loyalty is broken, and also his just pure commitment to doing his job well.

Hottest looks character:

Ummmm, idk. They're all really great looking but I wouldn't really call anyone hot lol? Like, Liz and Nikki have the conventional hollywood hotness thing going, but I'm entirely heterosexual so. XD Charlie and Don both when their hair is a certain way. (Those who watch the show for more than one season will understand what I mean by this. XD)

One thing I dislike about my fave character:

Colby is arguably my favorite character but it's complicated at a certain point. XD He mostly avoids the toxic stereotype jock stuff while simultaneously being a caricature of it, but I'm not a fan of the occasions where they go that direction - to the writers' credit, these moments are usually portrayed as faults.

One thing I like about my hated character:

Who do I hate in Numb3rs... Oh Marshall Penrod. I hate everything about him. XD

A quote or scene that haunts me:

Plot-wise, any of the mass-incidents: trains and bombs and serial offenders, etc. And, of course, the whole Janus List+Trust Metric thing. That scene.... on the boat.... hhhh.

A death that left me indifferent:

This question I'm finding hard to answer, bc if it left me indifferent, I probably haven't thought about it much to remember it happening lol. Maybe [spoiler potential] the death of Don's one sort of girlfriend. That's a really important arc for him, but I wasn't actually affected by her death.

A character I wish died but didn't:

Ok so maybe I'm just against characters dying based on how I can't think of answers to these two questions easily lol. (And I usually can't remember which of the bad guys gets arrested vs killed so that doesn't help.) I was, however, extremely satisfied when Don punched that one guy in the face.

My ship that never sailed:

My ships (for what its worth) do pretty well in this show 👏 so I'm not sure I have one that didn't work in my favor - although some are left more open-ended than I would prefer. I have one super random crack-ship of Colby and Caroline from the episode Pandora's Box (but like, way down the line, don't make it weird with her grief), but it's not a strong ship. XD
