Dead Dad and Spooky Creepy Dad

Akil (meaning bright smart and intelligent) was the Pharaoh preceding Safiya and the husband of Hawthorn. You can tell Safiya gets most of her looks from him. He was rather an enthusiastic personality and was actually the Pharaoh ruling when they began space faring half a century ago. It's said that his three great loves in his life was his people, the mother river and Hawthorn herself-selfishly putting the Gods in fourth place. He's currently very dead; but Safiya speaks with him often. She was about 10 when she died. He was around 800.

Kafele (literally means 'Would Die for') is Hawthorne's current husband and the royal embalmer. He's a rather quiet man who keeps mostly to himself and to his bushiness. He doesn't really know how to PARENT Safiya so he just doesn't and lets her do as she wishes. He seems to keep himself emotionally removed from her because it could end up his job to embalm her since the Embalmers are just as long lived as the royal family-even longer in some cases. His ears are actually docked a bit since the ends kept getting caught in things. Safiya thinks he’s a big weirdo.

He and Akil actually had dalliances before the Pharaoh was married (the cartouche actually is Akil's name) Naturally, thanks to the people of Geb-3's immensely good contact to the dead, Akil apparently greatly approved of Kafele matching up with Hawthorne. You'd think there'd be bitter feelings about your widowed wife marrying your ex-boyfriend, but nah. Two people you love and adore getting married? Someone you know well enough to love and treasure your wife and take good care of your children? Hell yeah.
