have you seen the film sing sing (2024)? if not, I think you'd like it & I highly recommend it! it's a beautiful film focused on a men's theatre production group in sing sing prison, specifically revolving around member & founder john 'divine g' whittaker, who was an innocent man sent to prison. it doesn't really focus on why he was there nor the ideas of innocent vs guilty, instead the film really looks at how theatre connects us all - how it allows us to be vulnerable, to process life and all it's hardships, and to find community who love you and want you to thrive. also it's just beautifully filmed on 16mm & with the exception of colman domingo who plays divine g, the other cast members are all prisoners who were part of the actual theatre group rta & it's just a film with so much heart which looks at how theatre allows us to really live! anyway, thought you'd like it & hope you're doing well!
sing sing has been high on my movie watchlist for all of the amazing reasons you listed above but i haven’t gotten to it yet; definitely need to remedy that ASAP though so once i view it i will as per usual report back on here 🙌🏽
