I woke up and had trouble believing tumblr had 3 posts at 9:45 this morning. I was right. It was hiding them. Which… feels like something? Idk.

This book, this story in the silly little setting that is Discworld, not even a fantasy setting but a satire of a fantasy setting, is making me weepy this morning.

It’s raining. It’s Memorial Day. I have to think for a moment about affording hard boiled eggs. 🥚

I think about what Terry was saying about revolutions. They come around again, their mainly orchestrated by someone else, they mostly get a lot of people killed, they rarely solve all the problems that need solving…

But if you aren’t looking to solve them all. If you just can’t stand to see what you see every day anymore. If it’s about the person next to you more than any glorious shining perfect future- sometimes, and not even right away, you work the world into something tolerable. A world where more people have a say. A world where more people are allowed to be people. A world where you can arrest a political leader and get away with it.

Gods- doesn’t that sound nice right now?

Art is not dead, AI did not kill it. It's just being attacked and disrespected, those who use generative AI, especially those using directly on artists work have never respected art and the artists who make it. Art is something that has always been attacked by people who are threatened by it, art will not die.

you can pick up a pen and scribble your heart out, and it still has far more passion then something that is generated. Be passionate, be weird, make bad art, but most importantly make art that makes these kinds of people foam at the mouths of jealousy, while they are capable of picking the pen themselves.
