I love when the ‘plot driver’ character isn't the protagonist. I don’t even mean they’re dead or off screen and the characters are left to deal with the consequences of their actions, I mean like they’re fully a major character just not (conclusively at least) the main one. Like I just think it’s so interesting when narratively a story so clearly revolves around one character but structurally  they’re just treated as one member of the ensemble.

I hate it when there is a shoe and the characters can't curse. BUT you know for a gosh darn fact that they woukd curse like a sailor if given the chance
