A pretty healthy bake with not alot of calories is what I prefer after high cholesterol carbs foodventures. No need for food guilt going for this Taiwanese Chocolate Castella with Belgian Callebaut chocolate chips (RM40) We enjoyed the light and fluffy cotton texture. It’s almost like Chinese/ Cantonese雞蛋糕( egg sponge cake?), up a notch with fudgy Belgian chocolate chips, which gave the cake more richness and moisture. At least 6 eggs sacrificed for this lovely moist bouncy cotton-y cake. Not your ordinary sponge cake. Having no butter , you don’t get oily fingers or plates when you’re eating this. Castella cakes are low in calories, the fact that this isn’t too sweet , is a healthy fix to dessert cravings finding it’s way to our stomach. Reckon this for y’all who wants to have a delicate cake, but still health conscious. Also, suitable for elders.
