Putting my ADHD meds on Hermes’ altar, and I pray for efficiency and productivity when I take them.

I’ve just taken them and I’ve suddenly got the urge to go for a walk while they kick in (about 15 min). Usually I’d just doomscroll or watch videos while waiting, so this is already an improvement. 😁

Orphic hymn to Zeus

Music is a fundamental aspect aspect in my religious practice, I love it & nothing can replace the feeling that may be the gods are happy when I play their hymns for them (I create playlists). I always start with music.

And I love above all the feeling it gives, a boost and a link to this ancient culture and deities...

I will never forget the Homeric Hymn to Hermès I learn to prononce in greek, nor this song I associate with Hermès :

And I did'nt mention Petros Tabouris, my beloved Daemonia Nymphe..the Hymn to Apollo, to Hestia...

To Hades:

Acceptance

Even when I scream,

with tears crusting my cheeks

and swollen eyes,

My fingers dug into the earth

clinging to the only

permanence I seem to believe in,

as if roots and stones

could pull me onto my feet,

I always fall back

onto my knees,

lips and forehead pressed to the soil

knowing that all the rubies

and roots

and stones in the world

will never make it go away.

Hey, I was wondering what a good way to end a prayer is. I noticed a lot of ppl use Khaire but idk what that means. Is it like the Hellenic version of amen? Just wondering because I’d like to write some of my own daily prayers. Thanks for your time and I hope ur having a wonderful day x

Khaire basically is a greeting. It’s used both to welcome someone as well as say goodbye. It translates to “rejoice, be glad” if i’m not mistaken.

But you can end your prayers however way you want. I simply say “i love you” bc that’s what’s in my heart.
