Doodle of the new girl!!!
just read the newest necron novel excerpt. i like khemet shes like a hamster to me. please look at her cute round cheeks and funny ears. thank you
Pss pss psss 🐈✨
I'm going to come off as a sanctimonious ass about this.
The main character, Khemet, from the Tomb World book that just went up for pre-orders, for which an excerpt has already been released? Stellar. Disaster girl. I've seen this fandom's tastes and I can't wait for her to blow up in popularity. Props to Beer for making a perfectly scrimched little hamster for us to play with
However. The tag #khemet? Already in use. Khemet is in use by those who practice kemetism, participating in the old religion of Egypt, Ra and Osiris and all the classic favorites. Kemet/khemet is the old name for Egypt (literally "black land"), and those who practice are referred to as Kemetic.
I don't think either group can drown each other out. Khemet isn't the main tag for kemeticism, and only like 100 people are going to post about Khemet the girlfailure. But in the interest of 1) not stepping on toes, and 2) keeping the tags nice and clean:
Could we please use a specific tag for the character? #khemet tomb world, #tomb world khemet, #praetorian khemet, something like that.
Khemet knows this cannot have happened. She never came to Kheretesh in the time of flesh, never knew Ahnuret before biotransference, and certainly never knew her like this. This memory is a lie. That knowledge does not help.
(A thing I wrote for Secret Sanguinalia this year, and am mostly pleased with.)

Now let's Analyse the other side of sumeru. King deshret.
The first thing is a symbol as an eye which ofcourse references the eye of Horus, a symbol for knowledge. And deshret searched knowledge
This is the reason why yugi in yu gi oh is associated with the eye as well.
One side note: I think his pyramid looks rather scary and reminds me on the sith and their homeworld korriban in Star wars. The sith are also seekers of forbidden knowledge.
This is a picture of korriban which looks remarkably similar.
To gain knowledge, deshret makes a pact with apep/apophis. In ancient egypt, apophis was the counterpart to Satan and the god of evil and chaos. The god seth, which always had a kind of evil side, was originally the one who kept apophis at bay, but later, people said Seth and apophis were one and the same. (This is the reason for the depiction of seth in Media like mummies alive.)
To go further, we need to look at 2 sides/aspects of satanism. On the one hand, there is the idea of Satan as a symbol of evil. Then, there is luciferianism which Sees Satan as a Provider of knowledge (like with the Apple). This is basically a gnostic thing and results from the idea that if knowledge is good and lucifer wants to give us knowledge, while jhwh wants to hide knowledge, then lucifer is probably not the bad guy here. People like Maria Naglowska, Otto Rahn and Alice Bailey took this view. Rudolf Steiner in parts too. Steiner basically replaced the evil Satan then with the zoroastrian concept of ahriman. (And in the old testament, jhwh is quite cruel and tyrannical. So, many gnostics thought its not a bad thing that lucifer did not want to serve under this guy.
Then there is the idea that lucifer is indeed dangerous and evil and still can give people knowledge. This is connected to a practice since ancient times where people essentially tried to tame demons and wanted to use their powers. King Solomon is said to have done that and many experiments done by aleister Crowley went in the same Direktion.
And there is the idea of the faustian pact of selling yourself to Satan in exchange for Hidden knowledge and King deshret Basically did exactly that. But it went wrong and he brought the withering over sumeru which makes plants die and causes the desert to spread.
And apophis was the god of desert storms.
And seth is seen as an evil god and enemy of the light god Horus and also as the Beginning of civilization. (Similar to susanoo in shintoism.)
Michael Aquino was a member of Anton laveys church of Satan and said Satan was basically just another name of seth and founded a new Temple of seth. He believed seth/apophis to be a god of Chaos but one who also brings knowledge. He interpreted the Monolith in 2001 as a symbol of seth.
One central aspect of aquinos sethianism is the ancient egypt word kepher or xeper, which means "I will grow stronger" and "bug"/"scarab". (The german word kaefer, which means Bug, is derived from kepher.)
And cyno needs scarabs/Bugs to grow stronger
what could that beeee, am i finally working on some khemet/ahnuret fic?
