Based on an artwork from a funerary scroll, the Papyrus of Nakht (14th century BCE) originating from Thebes, Egypt (18th Dynasty, New Kingdom)

The papyrus is currently in the British Museum but not in display due to light sensitivity

For ancient Egyptians, cockroaches were considered a creature of darkness and manifestation of decay, since they eat the fabric and overall, the mummies they threatened the deceased's chances of eternal resurrection so they had to be destroyed 😌the only sensible option imo.

Mama Sphinx and her cubs 💖

Based it on a marble sculpture from the Archaic Greek period (ca. 530 BCE) had lots traces of red, black and blue pigments. Currently exposed in the MET museum

l've of course taken many liberties in my artwork ^^

More art inspired by stuff I'm fascinated with ajshdhd I've always been so intrigued in the symbol of the snake and reptiles through so many different civilizations and how also they were given human qualities^^ the power of symbols remaining in our subconscious as time keeps ticking asjdndi fascinating shdndj

Based on the Ubaid lizard people figurines, from Pre-Sumeria (Ubaid Period, c. 5500-4000 BC) of course I've taken many liberties in my illustration, it's been a very fun design challenge too D

My boyfriend and I but in the Eneolithic ^^ got inspired (but is not accurate, tried to mix best with the ref images I found ^^ )while reading about Cucuteni-Trypillia culture (now Romania as for the Cucuteni and Ukraine Trypillia)

It is said it's one of the first civilizations in Europe ^^

Your Lewis Chess piece set is so beautiful!! When I first scrolled upon it I was like is that the album cover of 'How to be a human being' by Glass Animals? Then I scrolled back up and was just as delighted to find awkward medieval dudes :)
