We know that the modelling industry is dominated by FNs/Flamboyant Naturals since clothes are made for a rectangular frame and not customized to the curves and contours of a specific body. Models who are frame dominant are preferred because they can advertise the clothes as they are instead of having it tailored to fit them. But all of that aside, I thought it'll be interesting to find models who do not have a typical FN build.
Keep in mind that almost all the women mentioned below are over 5'7 and with Kibbe's height restrictions in mind, at that height, only a few IDs are possible (SD, D, FN). Since this is a post about models who aren't FN, this list will largely feature Ds & SDs.
For context, this is a typical FN build. Cindy Crawford is a verified FN. She has broad shoulders, a square torso and an overall athletic build. FNs are likely to have an inverted triangle like frame.
Adriana Lima, Dramatic
She's 178cm and thus has automatic vertical. Her overall body is very sharp and angular, she does not have an athletic build or physique. She's just long and sharp?? if that makes sense
2. Stephanie Seymour, SD
90s Victoria Secret models were often SDs, voluptuous and curvy and Stephanie is a great example of it. Its only in the 2000s & since that FNs began to dominate the modelling industry.
She has double curve and has a fleshy, curvy physique.
3. Miranda Kerr, Dramatic
Her physique is so similar to Adriana's. Very long torso's, sharp limbs and angular
4. Laetitia Casta- SD
Her bustline and hips are curved which is what is meant by double curve. So she looks softer and rounder. Her yang comes from her height
5. Tyra Banks- SD
6. Karen Mulder- D
Longer torso, longer overall body, very sharp and angular looking
7. Heidi Klum- Dramatic
8. Helena Christensen- SD
9. Ming Xi, D
10. Chanel Iman is a FN but I'm including her anyway because she can easily be mistyped as an SD or something
11. Irina Shayk, Dramatic
12. Eva Herzigova, SD
13. Rania Benchegra, SD
14. Kaia Gerber, FN (i know she seems like a Dramatic but she's a Natural all thru)
15. Kate Moss, Flamboyant Gamine
16. Devon Aoki, Flamboyant Gamine
17. Chloe Sevigny, Flamboyant Gamine
18. Anok Yai, Pure Dramatic
19. Adut Akech, underweight SD
20. Emily Ratajkowski, Flamboyant Gamine
21. Chrissy Teigen, SD
22. Camille Rowe, Soft Gamine
23. Adwoa Aboah, Flamboyant Gamine
24. Agyness Deyn, Dramatic Classic
25. Joan Smalls, Dramatic
26. Milla Jovovich, DC
27. Sasha Pivovarova, Dramatic Classic
28. Amber Valletta, Dramatic Classic
29. Candice Swanepoel, underweight SD
ive reached the image limit ,, ill make a part 2 in the future<33
hair is part of our appearance and kibbe does give hair recommendations for each type id. however, kibbe enthusiasts disagree on the level of importance that should be placed on hairstyle.
*I'll mention male and female examples, although, most of the discourse is factored more with (stereotypically) women's hairstyles. but it's all pretty much the same. long/short hair.
---
Romantic family
for Rs and TRs, short, soft, curled hairstyles are recommended, although longer hair that goes past the shoulders is also good if it retains a curly shape. short types are generally told to have short hair because long hair can look bogged down/too heavy.
MY VERDICT: R fam definitely benefits from hair that has, at the very least, been lifted with a bit of wave or curl! but I'd say hair length is pretty irrelevant, Rs and TRs can look good with hair that goes past the shoulders (maybe not waist length?) [jiwon/fromis_9, kun/wayv]
~
Gamine family
gamines are explicitly recommended short hair, no longer than shoulders length. gamine recs are made for hair that is short or at least out of the way, for example, high necklines and small details. gamine 'essence' is also chic, modern, and slightly androgynous. kibbe does allow longer hair that is funky, loud and/or shaped in an interesting way.
MY VERDICT: not everyone likes short hair. very few gamine female idols wear short hair on the regular. long hair can be styled (Ariana grande is good at keeping her hair out of her face to fit her gamine outfits) and I find that 'quirky' hairstyles like Seulgi's choppy bangs from 2018 create the same gamine vibe that short hair has. [nayeon/twice, eric/the boyz]
~
Classic family
classics don't have hardline recommendations aside from hairstyles that look balanced and moderate. they can be any length, but are usually middle-parted, with a slight curl.
MY VERDICT: really, with k-pop hair styling, I don't think classics have much to worry about. outside of crazy hair (think vintage 2ne1) I pretty much never see hair that looks disharmonious on them. [miyeon/idle, sungchan/riize]
~
Natural family
natural hair, like clothing recs, is encouraged to be tousled, fresh, and layered. flamboyant naturals are recommended long, thick, lion's mane like hair.
MY VERDICT: naturals can rock a lot of styles, especially naturals that look moderate. even short/straight hair looks good on a lot of naturals, like Jeongyeon from TWICE. although a lot of soft naturals in particular just get that extra 'oomph' from wavy hair as opposed to having having pin-straight hair. [ningning/aespa, Bangchan/stray kids]
~
Dramatic family
dramatic family recs are divergent between pure Ds and SDs. pure dramatics are recommended to have straight or geometrically-arranged hair, any length, while soft dramatics are recommended to have hair that is shaped, 'big' and glamorous, like a blowout style.
MY VERDICT: k-pop idols pretty unanimously have straight hair that is suitable for dramatic recs and with styling, can achieve a similar style to soft dramatic recs. [yeji/ITZY, zuho/sf9]

To show a broader scope, I have some examples! Long and short hair, male and female.
ahahah. this is my first ask ever i feel so honored π₯Ί. hello! this is actually so funny cause i jUst had a convo with my friend about this! so without further ado
bangchan - real quick SN. the face, the abs, everything points at SN. he doesnβt have a particularly long vertical line but he doesnβt look as delicate and small as minho or felix. if you look at pictures of chanβs abs (weβve all been there) look at how wide his waist is. muscular, but really its broad and elongated without a lot of curvesΒ (when i say face i mean heβs not sharp like jeongin is, more blunt and with βirregularβ featuresΒ
- look into kibbe if u wanna know what irregular means, its just a way of describing. look at chan vs minho and youβll see what i mean. he just has less symmetry in his face (not a bad thing!)
minho (lee know) - G. iβve seen allot of people type him as SG, SN or even some sort of classic. his face and body is just too delicate (imo) to be a SN. i wouldnβt say no to the possibility of a SG but classic is off the table to me. you compare him to seungmin (SC) and he looks moreΒ delicate and less moderate. you put him next to chan and he looks delicate but more moderate (gamine has a classic undertone in the same way that FG shares a more natural undertone.)
changbin - SN. another real quick SN. shorter than felix but looks less breakable (?) just stronger looking. definitely a SN who works out, but even from a lower angle you can tell that his more defining characteristic is strength and wideness rather than a longer vertical line.Β
hyunjin - okay this boy is impossible to type. iβve seen DC for long time, now it seems the consensus is just a really skinny FN. D has been thrown around but i personally think hes tooΒ βsquishyβ to be a D. his vertical line is too prominent to be a DC (think vernon of seventeen, seongwha of ateez). they look much more moderate (and wider) than hyunjin whos a freaking string bean. so like, FN or SD idk man. take ur pick hes impossible lol.
han - FG. longer vertical line than felix and minho, sharper features too, but still somewhat delicate looking.Β
felix - easiest SG of all time. the small hands,Β delicate features, short vertical line. even his mannerism scrEam SG to me.Β
seungmin - SC. tbh theres nothing that puts seungmin into SC except he fits absolutely nowhere else (which is SUCH a classic thing but it takes a while for that to sink in lol). you can immediately rule out pretty much any yang type, hes too soft. you can rule out TR and R cause hes just uh not (?). just take a look at seungkwan svt (R) or hoshi (TR) svt vs our puppy. (closest imo is hoshi, but minie looks more moderate and taller. he doesnβt have the contrast of a gamine and so youβre left with classic. DC doesnβt feel right (see seongwha and vernon) so SC it is
jeongin (i.n.) - so technically jeongin is too young to type (kibbe says 21 ish) but for the fun of it. DC. when he was younger people classified him as a FG but as hes grown (stop growing, not really but :( ) heβs become much sharper and more defined (oof that jawline). (im simping wth hes so big now)
Hey Caro! Can you identify the difference between Dramatic and Natural bones?
In the typology, Kibbe distinguishes between sharp yang and blunt yang essence.Β
sharp = Dramatic
blunt = Natural.Β
Sharp yang is maximum (!) yang. At one end of the spectrum, opposing yin. Bones are long, narrow, sharp, flat, stark, asymmetric, sleek.Β Morticia Addams. Christopher Lee. You see anΒ angularity that can intimidate. Column model body. Bone structure drawn with a ruler. No curve. Vertical line. The Dramatic skeletal frame is tall and slim.Β Muscle and flesh will adapt to that, appearing very taut because arms/legs/cheek bones/feet etc are so elongated.
Blunt Yang is moreΒ inward on the spectrum. Some Yin curve is added. It makes bone structure broad, bulky, strong, squarish-rounded. Length/vertical line is also there, yet not what you first notice. Width adds a different proportion. Itβs not someone from the runway, but the Olympics even if they donβt work out. In either case, where there is a blunt yang bone there will be stronger muscle emphasis anyway. The built is block-like. Few sharp angles, not skinny: blunt, not sharp. Much more grounded, even massive/heavy.Β
So far, so good. The problem only comes in with subtypes. Flamboyant Natural (like RM) is often extremely tall with sharper elements.Β Soft Dramatic can be wider around the shoulders (like Jin). However, the overall impression still counts. SD strikes you as elongated (add lusher flesh, especially in the face). While FN bones will seem sturdy and robust (muscle-leaning flesh). Again, broad vs slim, athlete vs model.
You can test it with clothing, too. D needs chiseled long angles without mix & match, N looks best in loose unconstructed clothing. Any Dramatic is lost in wide clothes and doesnβt bulk out jeans fabric, whereas any Natural will explode geometric angles but rock rugged, massive fabrics. Think Shownu with sharp shoulders (a DC-ish suit here), the opposite of his shape:
β¦ vs Shownu in relaxed, wide, casual knitwear. Where you instantly see him, because it complements his N bones instead of going against them. Itβs harmonious and fits.
And now: Sehunβs stark Dramatic bones with severeΒ tailored angles and then NβsΒ wide unconstructedness. The left is 100% him: edgy bones, edgy style. Head to toe color, long coat, stiff heavy fabric, you could add more asymmetry but other than that the impression is on point. The right doesnβt let his angularity shine. Because the garment doesnβt mimick the outline of his sharp bone structure. The difference is huge.
The most complicated case to tell will be Flamboyant Gamine anyways. Since: they have both D and N bones galore. E.g. wide hands, but chiseled jawline. However, any Gamine will have Yin height meaning they wonβt be as tall-looking as N, and especially not D and FN. Also, they sport more Yin facial features (e.g. round eyes).
Hope this answers the question! If in doubt, compare the legs in the pictures. Sehun vs RM in particular shows the difference in bones pretty well.

Here's how the Yin/Yang scale works:
The extreme Yang edge of the Yin/Yang scale is the Dramatic (extreme, sharp Yang), characterized by a straight body
type; extremely sharp bone structure; and very straight, narrow, facial features (small eyes, narrow lips, sharp nose and jawline, and prominent cheekbonesΒ with taut flesh).
The extreme Yin edge of the Yin/Yang scale is the Romantic (extreme, soft Yin), characterized by a very soft and curvy
body type, with a more rounded bone structure (which tends to be slightly wide or full) and very rounded. Lush facial features (large eyes; luscious lips; aΒ soft, slightly full nose and jawline; and fleshy cheeks.
The pure balance between the Yin and Yang extremes is the Classic, characterized by a symmetrical body type, with a
tapered, even bone structure (neither overly sharp nor overly full), and very regular evenly spaced, facial features (symmetrical eyes, straight lips, a finelyΒ chiseled nose and jawline--but not sharply--and moderate cheekbones.)
The more moderate Yang side of the Yin/Yang scale, falling between the extreme, sharp Yang of the Dramatic and the balance of the Classic, is the Natural, characterized by straight and slightly muscular body type; and angular, but slightly broad bone structure; and angular,
slightly wide facial features that tend to be blunt-edged (wide-spaced eyes; strong, straight lips; a blunt or slightly wide nose and jawline; and moderatelyΒ angular cheekbones that tend toward width.)
The final major spot on the Yin/Yang scale is the combination of opposites that represents the Gamine. Yin in size
(petite), Yin in facial features (full and rounded), but Yang in body type (straight and narrow) and in bone structure (sharp and narrow). The Gamine is equalΒ parts Yin and Yang, always maintaining a natural contradictionΒ that is the basis for her physical makeup.
Since most people have inherited a mixture of different elements, the scale can be further broken down as follows:
I. Dramatic--extreme, sharp Yang (As described above.)
sub-division: Soft Dramatic--extreme bold Yang with a pronounced Yin undercurrent. This is a Dramatic who borrows an undercurrent from the Romantic.
Strong, straight bone structure; body type tends toward softness and fleshiness; facial bones very prominent and exotic; facial features very large, very full,
and very lush.
II. Romantic--extreme, soft Yin (As described above.)
sub-division: Theatrical Romantic--extreme soft Yin with a slight Yang undercurrent. This is a Romantic who borrows a slight undercurrent from the Dramatic.
Very curvy body type, with an hourglass figure; slightly angular bone structure (small, delicate, and slightly sharp); facial features are round, full and
lush; facial bones are delicate, narrow and slightly sharp.
III. Classic--balanced between the extremes of Yin and Yang (As described above.)
sub-division: a. Dramatic Classic--balanced, with a Yang influence. This is a Classic with a slight undercurrent of Dramatic.
Symmetrical, slightly angular bone structure; body type tends toward either a slightly elongated line (narrow) or a slightly squarish line (particularly when
overweight); facial bones are angular (may be slightly sharp and narrow or rather squarish and wide) but very chiseled; facial features tend to be symmetrical
but strong.
b. Soft Classic: balanced, with a Yin influence. This is a Classic with a slight undercurrent of Romantic.
Symmetrical, slightly soft body type (tends to more roundedness when overweight); symmetrical, slightly round or delicately wide bone structure; facial bones
are slightly wide and soft-edged (not sharp); facial features are very full and rounded but symmetrical.
IV. Natural--soft Yang (As described above.)
sub-divisions:
a. Flamboyant Natural--strong Yang with blunt edges (not sharp)
Strong, straight bone structure that is elongated, wide, or broad; body type tends to muscular width or sinewy length; facial bones are strong and prominent
but widely blunt or asymmetrical (not narrow and sharp); facial features are strong but narrow (not round and lush).
This is a Natural who borrows a strong undercurrent from the Dramatic.
b. Soft Natural--soft Yang with a pronounced Yin undercurrent. This is a Natural who borrows an undercurrent from the Romantic.
Soft body type that tends toward fleshiness and curve, particularly in the upper arm/thigh and hip area (may become extremely soft when overweight); softly
angular bone structureΒ that tends towards soft width or a slight elongation; facial bones are very full, very soft, and somewhat rounded.
V. Gamine--combination of opposites, Yin in size (petite) and facial features (full and rounded), Yang in body type
(straight and narrow) and bone structure (sharp and narrow).
sub-divisions:
a. Flamboyant Gamine--combination of opposites, extra Yang. This is a Gamine who borrows an undercurrent from the Dramatic.
Petite in stature; strong, straight bone structure, tending to slight broadness; slightly muscular or sinewy body type; slightly strong facial bones, tending
toward bluntness or squarish shapes; full and rounded facial features.
b. Soft Gamine--combination of opposites, extra Yin. This is a Gamine who borrows a pronounced undercurrent from the Romantic.
Petite in stature; body type tends to be rounded and soft, with curvy figure, especially through the hip area; bone structure is very delicate, may be very
slightly wide; facial features are very rounded, very soft, and very full; facial bones tend to be very delicate, possibly rounded and slightly wide.

Note: Kibbe organizes the balance of the above in his IdentitiesΒ as you can tell by the various descriptions (GUIDELINES!) and details he suggests for each
category. The Yang suggestions and the Yin suggestions are different for each individual category.
There are sharp Yang touches and softened Yang touches depending on facial and body structure. The same with the Yin touches. Some Yin items can be really
romantic or theatrically romantic, and others more controlled and suggestive.
Haifa Wehbe is not a verified TR but imo she is a TR and dresses like one all the time so I included her. Rihanna is an SD (former TR) but that Swarovski gown is super TRcore esp with the makeup so I included it. The random makeup looks in between are ones I found on Pinterest and I have no idea whether or not those girls are TR but those lewks are what Kibbe recommends in his book for TR women (glossy lips, smokey eyes, lots of highlighter, pearlescent eyeshadow). The nails are all very iridescent/shiny looking and reminded me of TR glamour hence why they were included.
This is a random topic I'm extremely passionate about and I've been working on this hypothesis for a long time. This is going to be a little long so bear with me besties π
Jennie is often typed as a Flamboyant Gamine/FG in Kibbe communities and I think this is dead wrong. She's clearly a Theatrical Romantic/TR.
Flamboyant Gamines are described as having a straight narrow build and kind of athletic. Curves are minimal.
These are pictures of Jennie at a normal weight. Her body is fuller, lush and rounded. She's lost a lot of weight this year so she looks very underweight rn. Its easy to tell from these pictures that her weight is stored in her chest, hips and thighs. Her face is fuller and her cheeks are round when she's at a more normal weight.
Her build is neither straight nor narrow and she most definitely does not have an "athletic build".
Just compare these two looks to each other. She looks good in the black outfit but awful in the yellow/white one. Why? Because she's not wearing her lines or honouring her essence.
All TRs have Romantic/Dramatic/Ingenue essence and so does Jennie. When she wears light, pastel colours, shapeless outfits and "cutesy" accessories, she looks very washed out and unlike herself.
Look at these outfits and how they make her shine. Its her Dramatic essence that makes her give off these boss bitch vibes. Even in the bottom two outfits where she's wearing jeans and a pant suit in the other, the colors, the fit, the styling enhances her Romantic/Dramatic/Ingenue essence and makes her really stand out.
Its her Ingenue essence that makes her look so babyish and look younger than she is.
However, despite her babyface she does not look purely innocent. She has that femme fatale charm and magnetism.
(L to R)
Joan Collins, Mila Kunis
Selena Gomez & Jennie
The other 3 are Kibbe verified Theatrical Romantics and look at all of their faces together. They clearly project a similar quality. All of them have very seductive "bedroom" eyes, full lush faces that are very youthful looking. There's an undeniable magnetism to all of them. They all clearly fit the Romantic Dramatic Ingenue essence.
This is what Jennie wore to the Met Gala this year. This outfit clearly shows how you can wear your lines and still not honour your essence. This look is too cutesy for Jennie. It honours her Romantic-Ingenue essence but not her powerful Dramatic essence.
Compare the above outfit to the two outfits below. She looks so elegant, ladylike and poised in these. It seems to bring out a very different side to her. She does not look out of place or "plain" in these.
The thing with Kibbe IDs like Theatrical Romantic/Soft Dramatic is that its very hard to play down the glamour of the ID. They are by nature so extravagant and luxurious. So in an outfit that's even a notch below the mark, these individuals look very drab and boring.
Look at these 3 outfits and compare them with her looks from above. All 3 are very Gamine lewks but they do not flatter her in the slightest. She simply looks out of place in these clothes.
It goes against her ID and her essence.
However in the last few years there's been a clear departure to her earlier style and she seems to prefer to dress like a Gamine
TRs have a femme fatale essence, this can overwhelm others
Gamines have a sweeter, gentler presence that is not as overpowering.
In the past when Jennie still dressed according to her ID. She often received a lot of flak for being "YG's Princess", "Ice Queen" and was heavily bullied online for her perceived attitude and style.
Just look at the confident boss bitch aura she radiates even in these casual outfits that bring out her Dramatic essence and look at the ones above where she looks gentler and less intimidating.
She rarely even wears makeup these days which is just sad. Considering the hate she received so early on in her career it makes sense as to why she'd downplay her style so heavily and try to appear "softer" and meeker. Its truly sad that a woman has been villainized to such an extent that she feels the need to change her own image.
This is the power of Image Identity. I'll make another post about how several celebs have successfully incorporated their IDs to sell their image and what changing ID looks like.
These are all outfits she wore on tour this year and last year and you can tell that she's clearly trying to appear more cutesy and girly. However they are not very harmonious on her.
these are just a few of her old outfits but look at how good she looks in these outfits!!
β¨her auraβ¨is unmatched, she looks fierce and powerful and completely in charge; no wonder the netizens were pissed.
Given the rumours about Blackpink's potential disbanding, I am intrigued to see how her style will change and develop when she has the independence to be herself and not worry about outshining others or "standing out too much".
