The Premise of Enceladus V is simple: There's a group of young adults stuck on a generation ship traveling through the vast void of space, they've never set foot on a planet and likely never will, and they're sending short video clips back in time to our era to say hello.
Or as the kickstarter puts it
By the year 2150...
the Earth’s climate had shifted so drastically that it became near uninhabitable for humankind. In orbit above the Americas, the continent’s greatest scientists and engineers worked tirelessly to create a vessel big enough to hold what remained of the population. The vessel was built and dismantled many times as several different designs failed or fell short. Until, on the fifth iteration, in a rare instance of all of humanity coming together, brilliant minds from around the world collaborated to create a city-sized, self-sustaining, mobile habitat: The Enceladus V. The successful design was replicated twice more, with the Enceladus housing the remnants of The Americas and Canada, The Hyperion for Europe and Africa, and The Titan for Asia and Australia. These short animations are the project of Anna Lencioni, a storyboard artist with an impressive resume including Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, DC Super Hero Girls, Onyx Equinox (which she worked on with her wife and is hoping to one day return to), Amphibia, Helluva Boss, and soon Hazbin Hotel and The Search for WondLa.
Lencioni has fleshed out her universe pretty thoroughly, but her goal here is to create something that works as a series of short clips of animation, to better make use of a small budget. It seems like a pretty fun project and I hope more people will contribute to the kickstarter (link)!
