“This is Mitarashi Anko, apprenticed to the legendary ninja Orochimaru-sensei, and I’m here to teach you what to do in the event that you’re bitten by a snake!”
“Step one: Move far away from the snake and don’t try to catch it. Most snakes only strike when they feel threatened, so it’s important to give it plenty of room for escape to prevent it from striking again.
Step two: Do not panic. This is especially important if the snake turns out to be venomous. Panicking will speed up your heart-rate and increase your blood pressure, ensuring that the venom moves through your body at a faster rate as well.
Step three: Remove any tight clothing near the bite in the event that you begin to swell.
Step four: Keep the bite below the level of your heart.
Step five: Clean the bite with water and-or soap, if possible. If the venom doesn’t kill you, the ensuing infection might. Dress it loosely with a bandage.
Do not try to remove the venom by cutting open or sucking on the wound. Cuts or sores in the mouth only serve as entryways for more infection. Do not apply ice or a tourniquet near or around the infected wound. Do not take any pain medication, as it could increase bleeding.
It’s important that you remember the color and shape of the snake for identification later, so your local med-nin can properly treat your symptoms!!

“Today I learned that they make drinks out of snake venom. They ice the snake until it forces itself into hibernation and then gut it while it sleeps. Then they sew it back up, place it in a bottle full of alcohol, and wait for it wake back up.”
“When it does wake up, its instinct is to strike again and again until it eventually dies. The venom is neutralized by the alcohol as the snake soaks.”
