some of the most unbelievably low quality Willow photos i have . . . i found these on the wayback machine site a while ago , and i think these specific captures were even from the old official OMEGA site , but there was no way to download them in high quality so this is all i ’ ve got 😭

also i have no clue who he ’ s fighting . the gear and the hair make me think it may be Kid Dynamo ( Shannon Moore ) , but i could be totally off .

Alex Ross' unpublished cover for the collected edition of 1963, a six-issue miniseries published by Image Comics in 1993.

Written by Alan Moore, and illustrated by various artists, 1963 was a humorous love letter/homage to the early Marvel Comics of the Silver Age. This included fake ads, editorials, and printing the pages on the same quality (or lack thereof) newsprint paper used back then.

Unfortunately, due to several factors - especially ownership of the various characters - a collected edition is likely never to see the light of day. On the good news front, however, you can usually find these books in the back issue bins of many comic shops.

This week's featured article is Kid Dynamo, a novel-length fix-it fic written by Connie H and based on the New Mutants universe. Told from the point of view of the original character Jessica Pierce, it goes through the time period when Magneto was the headmaster of Xavier’s School and alters many unpopular canon events.

Published in 1988, this story quickly became extremely popular within the fandom and has even been cited as an example of how to write good original female characters. Check out the fanlore page to learn more about its reception and the reasons behind its success!
