Mil told me she wanted to do science last night, so we made a volcano. #bakingsodaandvinegar #bakingsodavolcano #kidscience #acidandbase #kidapproved (at Mackey, Indiana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CW55i8GLV1b/?utm_medium=tumblr
Who wants to start a fire with a boring old lighter? Show off your scientific survival meddle with this Parabolic mirror solar fire starter/lighter. Place object in spring holder, aim toward the sun, and watch the smoke burst into flame! https://bit.ly/3w7dX2X
Everybody loves the volcanoes, and we turned it into more of an interesting experiment this time. I had some pickle juice left over, we mixed up some citric acid and water, and we of course used plain old vinegar. The citric acid volcano (swipe) made big bubbles very fast. The pickle juice volcano (swipe again) was very foamy with rolling bubbles and kept going for a very long time. The regular volcano worked as you expect it to, and they all came together to make a wonderful soup in the box lid we were using as our tray, which the 7 year old then proceeded to play with for quite a while. Image description: Slide 1- Three glass jars on a cement counter in a plastic bin lid, surrounded with a sparkly, bubbly liquid with a purple tint and glitter floating on the top. The jars are overflowing with bubbles, the two on the outsides with purple bubbles and the center one with slightly green bubbles. Slide 2- Plastic bin lid with three jars inside, two with just baking soda and glitter and the third with bubbles overflowing and pooling in the lid with silver glitter floating on top of the bubbles. Slide 3- Same lid and jars with the first settling down and a second filled to the brim with foam that has green glitter floating at the top. The third jar is still untouched. Slide 4- The jars in the lid are surrounded by the bubbly liquid with a mix of green and silver glitter floating on top and a hand is squeezing a bottle of purple vinegar into the final jar with baking soda with red glitter on top. ——————————————————— #bakingsodavolcanoes #kidscience #keepembusy #outdoorscience #scienceandart #processartforkids https://www.instagram.com/p/CDcMe96nyrt/?igshid=gdl59pch3e2j
Growing beans: 1- beans 2- plastic jar with a window cut 3- dirt 4- water The important thing is to put the beans close to the plastic, not in the middle of the dirt as you would normally do to plant something. I loved this experiment because it is self explanatory.
