Pro tip: when making a baking soda volcano, use uncolored play dough and dye your vinegar. Makes it look way cooler. You know, until it all just turns that weird brownish green in the end anyway. Play dough recipe and full volcano fun instructions from @mericherryla ‘s book “Play Make Create” Image description: A cream-colored hunk of dough with a hole on the center sits in a puddle of green liquid in a light brown bin. Floating to the left is an empty squeeze bottle, and to the right is a pile of unreacted baking soda. The side of the dough has drips of blue, red, yellow, and green running down randomly. #PlayMakeCreateProcessArtHandbook #ProcessArtForKids #SensoryPlay #BakingSodaVolcano #ScienceAndArt https://www.instagram.com/p/CQj_uXpLscM/?utm_medium=tumblr
We made a volcano today. The color choices of vinegar ended up creating ice cream colors. Swipe for the before and the ice cream volcano. Though, as I said many times throughout the process, it definitely would not taste good. Project idea and play dough recipe from #playmakecreatebymericherry Image description: Slide 1- A beige play dough volcano on an aluminum foil tray with blue stripes running down the sides and a puddle of dried baking soda around the bottom with spots of red and blue. Slide 2- the clean play dough volcano before adding the vinegar and baking soda. Slide 3- The play dough volcano full of fluffy pink liquid with a trail flowing down the right side. Slide 4- Overhead view of the play dough volcano with pink and blue fluffy liquid inside, running down the back, and pooling at the bottom. Slide 5- The play dough volcano and aluminum foil tray on pebbles. A small child’s hands are squeezing a bottle of red vinegar into the volcano and red fluffy liquid is pouring out of the volcano, pooling with blue liquid on the tray. Slide 6- A small child leans over and adds blue vinegar to the volcano, which has blue fluffy liquid pouring out and pooling at the bottom. ——————————————————— #kidsscience #bakingsodavolcano #playmakecreate #kidsart https://www.instagram.com/p/CC95xvIna_L/?igshid=1bevhqg60tedq
