Starting with Conan :)
I’ll do each character in a separate reblog for my sake-
this lil guy right here is my favorite of my genshin ocs (I hate to admit I have a favorite lol)
Basic info that’s already mentioned in his character sheet and everything blah blah blah
he’s ten, a changeling, Anemo vision and sword user, etc etc.
however what that fails to mention is he is also my Kaebedo fankid! In a way. He was adopted :3
his entire story is meant to mirror Kaeya’s cause I like thematic parallels :D
basically, in a secluded bit of Springvale, there was a secret group of fae that traveled there from Snezhnaya long, long ago. This group of fae -changelings- were survivors of the Belyi Tsar’s reign, and didn’t agree with his style of leadership.
They have resided in Mondstadt for years to the point while Snezhnaya is famous for fae, Mondstadt is specifically famous for changelings.
(These changelings are based off historical fae and fairytales, cause. Mondstadt is Germany. But also nymphs from Greek myth!!! cause Mondstadt is also based on Greece and Rome!!)

sadly, the folklore surrounding this group villainized them as monsters that stole human children and replaced them with their own, sickly offspring who were not blessed to live longer than a few years
this was propaganda spread by the Lawerence Clan, but no one knows that so it’s prevailed to today-
a young Kaeya Ragnvindr was… terrified of these tales, because wasn’t he just the human version? A child implanted into a pre-existing family, a monster awaiting to be discovered?
Conan lived with his aunt Cordelia, another changeling, after his parents died. He was weak, and the elder changelings knew if they kept him with their magic, he would likely die. The boy was six years old and almost always refused to leave his kitten form, which wasn’t his natural one, but the one he imprinted onto as the first animal he’d seen in life due to all the strays in Mondstadt.
due to the folklore, it had previously been decided that it was safer for changeling children to grow in their animal forms, since if they took a child one -their TRUE forms- they would likely be hunted.
so Cordelia had to do something she never wanted to do.
when six year old Conan was sleeping, she scooped up his young, feline form gently…
when Conan woke up, he was in a box. A box that said “free kittens.”
he couldn’t read it very well, but he had been learning because he liked stories.
so. He was obviously horrified.
for like. Numerous years he tried to just be a cat, learn how humans worked by observing them from the outside and practicing talking and socializing in secret. He was actually pretty skilled, but far behind where he was supposed to be.
until one day, he was found.
a teenage merchant named Drew was gathering supplies when he found a 9 year old boy socializing with. nothing. The kid looked injured, so of course he helped. The kid introduced himself as “Lykos” (a name Conan got from his favorite fairytale. Lykos is a prince of a starry kingdom beneath the ground, protected solely by his royal guard and the royal alchemist)
Drew then brought Conan to his mother, a baker, and they lived together for like. A year. They saw each other as family.
and then Drew found out Conan was a changeling.
however.
Drew thought Conan had been REPLACED by a changeling. That his little brother was dead and gone, replaced by a horrific copy.
But Drew couldn’t let his mother know.
so one day, Drew, a Cryo vision user, invited Conan to berry pick toward the edges of Dragonspine.
it went fine at first. But Drew was waiting for a opportunity.
Snow caved in.
drew was still upright.
Conan was in a hole.
Conan asked for help, thinking was a prank, that his big brother was just being silly?
drew was silently crying, having to kill a “monster” with his brother’s likeness, but he froze Conan in.
later, Drew reported “Lykos” missing to the knights. There was an investigation, but no one find him. They saw proof of an avalanche, however, so they marked it up as a death.
A 21 year old Kaeya Alberich was haunted by the case, due to his relation to his own brother, and how if Diluc died, despite Diluc being the elder, he would’ve never have forgave himself. Albedo, Kaeya’s then just. boyfriend, was equally troubled, as it happened on the ground he held as his own.
a year later, Kaeya, now 22 and married, runs into a odd black furred kitten with sparkling pink eyes, who seems terrified of the merchant in Springvale, avoidant of the cold, and obsessed with watching plays that it… can’t likely understand. But hey, Kaeya is a theatre kid too. The cat has good taste.
(Kaeya later finds out and this. this leads to adoption. Diluc is shocked. Klee is also shocked. But Diluc is shocked cause he ALSO grew up with changeling folklore and Klee is shocked cause. cause she has a NEPHEW NOW.)

he got his vision when he was adopted
he doesn’t hate Drew, he’s just. scared
he LOVES the color pink
he collects cat plushies and names them after stars and celestial bodies
Kaeya calls him “little star”
he loves fairytales, acting, and fashion!
he wants to be either a actor or tailor!
he loves hot cocoa, but HATES cinnamon.
he’s honestly just very bouncy and sweet :3
venti is his music teacher!!
there was a changeling hunt going on a bit after Kaeya and Albedo adopted him. they were panicking.
he started as a PJO oc named Wolfe (the shapeshifting was always there tho.) lolll I have replaced him with my other PJO oc Valentine who can’t shapeshift but he’s a living porcelain doll so that’s cool I guess
his fatal flaw is identity issues!
if he shifts into a specific person he can link with their thoughts and actions and not even consciously realize he’s doing it because he doesn’t HAVE the memories, he can just. recall them. it scares the heck out of kaeya
for like. A month Diluc thought Conan was a normal cat and did stuff like this
