Filtered double kreisel!!!
I got the drums siliconed in and mesh added to the sides over the past few days. This weekend was getting the filter set up and figuring out how to position the spray bars.
Took a couple trips to Home Depot and some help from Darcy, but I finally got it! The flow is a bit slow for both of them, but that will be helped with a couple air stones in each. Darcy did the same thing as well. The video shows some paper towel bits in each to see how well the current flows. Ideally it's a bit faster around the outside to keep them from getting stuck on the bottom, and slower in the middle so they can eat more easily.
So for now, I emptied it again & put it back on the shelf. Tomorrow I'll get the stones in and set up, and fill it again with proper salt water. I have a light above it, a lid to go on, and I'll be setting up my wyze cam to at least get a view from above but preferably from the front.
I'm going to take a piece of sponge from my tank pool to hopefully add good bacteria to the water, and I have coral coming soon to help buffer the water pH. I still need to test our water so I can see if that's much of a concern. I think we're on different water now from my last attempt, and anyway I'm curious.
So that should have a couple days to settle & if all goes well.... hopefully I'll have good news on Tuesday! 👀🤞 I'll be starting brine shrimp hatching jars on Monday too.
