So I recently created some ocs for this story I’m making, and I’ve grown quite fond of them. I might be talking about them more on my blog, so I thought I’d introduce them.
For context, this story takes place in a world where people have small magical powers related to their personality (yes, a bit like Encanto, except they’re born with these powers instead of gifted them). My characters live in Luster City, the capital of the region.
Krystal
My self insert for this world. She’s bright-minded and curious, as well as the owner of a jewelry shop in a quaint part of town. Krystal lives a complacent life, enjoying her work and socializing with her friends. She has the power to create crystals.
Kona
The smart witted, mischievous owner of the local coffee shop, and one of Krystal’s best friends. He’s always down for some nonsense, but understands when to tone it down. He has coffee related magic, which is surprisingly useful at times.
Primrose
With looks and personality as pretty as her name, Rose is quite popular among her friends. However, she never lets her vanity get to her head. Her powers of floramancy are useful to her flower shop.

Syrah
The older of the Cabernet sisters, she has a sophisticated yet amiable aura about her. She and her sister are known for throwing lavish parties, yet they rarely both host at the same time. Has red wine related magic.
Rieselle
The younger of the Cabernet sisters, she is a bit more socially withdrawn than her sister, yet doesn’t hesitate to make her presence known when necessary. Has white wine related magic.
Kestel
Down to earth yet easy to talk to, Kestel owns a bar in downtown Luster City. Kestel is very dedicated to his craft, and enjoys it as a way to engage in conversation with his patrons. He has liquor related magic, but tends to prefer making drinks the old fashioned way, so to speak.
Syntax
(I haven’t figured him out in picrew yet, but imagine him as a tall figure in a suit, with long, yellow hair, and horns.)
Master of anything and everything to do with language and linguistics, Syntax is a mysterious, slightly eccentric soul. Like the Cabernet sisters, Syntax is more powerful than the average person; however, he seems to outrank the sisters to some degree. While he doesn't live in Luster City, he’s good friends with Syrah.
Here’s a summary of my 2020 art! I actually started learning digital art in March of this year, so that’s why it starts in March! I’ve also included multiple pieces from some months to make up for the missing ones. I feel I’ve improved a lot this year. I’ve had my ups and downs in art, but overall I’m so much closer to where I want to be! Thank you to everyone who enjoys my art and has joined me on this journey ❤️
Crystal - What’s the oldest character (in terms of when they were created) that you still write with?
Decima! She was the first one I came up with for Preordained, she actually started out as a rwby oc lol. She was a traveling mercenary, her powers were a bit different and came with her fiddle
Agate - Which character is always helping everyone else?
Nona is the mom friend and the one that handles talking to people most, so definitely her! Hara is also very helpful, especially when Decima gets into trouble.
Moonstone - Which character has the most secrets?
Hara for sure! Or perhaps Krystalline, but that’s a surprise (:
