A girl whose full-time job is being annoyed at everything / a living, breathing annoyance
So the interesting situation being: I noticed this immovable obstacle in the RPG known as real life, I for some reason were obsessed with giving my SPECIFICALLY sapphic woman the female-pref labels. Like, for example, I can't just make her polysexual, I need to SPECIFY that she is a FEMALE-PREF polysexual. And of course it could be just wokeness, but I want to deconstruct it, because my man characters are bi, pan, poly, without a specific preference, and date men just fine. Heck, he can be omni with a female pref and still settle down with a dude, when if a woman is something else but a lesbian, my mind automatically categorizes her as "IN DANGER OF FALLING TO A MAN"
because this is the type of soapbox fandoms are on. FOR A LONG. TIME.
Of course we can run into many different cases, like
a woman is sapphic, let's say pan, in canon, said label just slapped onto her, and then the absolutely straight character gets written underneath. Or one more diabolical case scenario: "lesbian at home" that is just a bunch of stereotypes sewn together WITH A LIGHT THREAD that has an endgame with a man in some kind of a straight situation. A woman can have thick as shit sapphic coding, but when she has any contact with a man, let's say to represent a sapphic experience, that a woman's sapphic attraction gets downplayed in her own mind due to heteronormativity, SHE TURNS STRAIIIIGGHHHH
if a girl looks at a boy, the general masses allow NO NUANCE. The best nuance they are able to let in is "boy gay therefore girl evil, girl force boy to love her, girl make poor boy sad" and in this scenario woman gets swooped away from the conversation and the best the female character can end up with is a "poor heartbroken straighty" title some people pity, but not too much (she is a woman after all guys dont forget that)
And this is the background we are working from, so to avoid a straightifying of my woman in my mind it should be good enough to just add this female pref in, lets gooo specifyyy, put this PNG in, but actually I control every and any action of mine, I am able to deconstruct all the thought processes, I am able to control all of that, so now we know a little more about my thoughts, yey!! Now we need to find a way to, well... escape the hellring
us?
Her romancing methods are badshit insane, like girl you know you can just flirt with them right?
The fact that she is driven to women… it’s in her core, they trigger her so much, they drive her to emotions, but due to her utter bigotry she spent her life in, she was taught that strong emotions are weakness, these feelings are dangerous, blasphemous, wrong, traitorous. If that’s not thirst for blood, if that’s not anger. Girls make her feel so much, all the feelings keep her in agony in her room, her chest is so full it hurts, but it’s ok as long as it’s anger, everything is pure, morally correct, and she is not a “traitor”
as long as she is angry doing it.
This is how my ahh is ignoring the fact that Skarmilla is what is essentially a perfect butch4femme toxic yuri
Fannish History Friday: Ladyslash

It's Fannish History Friday! Today we're talking about Ladyslash, the first multifandom femslash mailing list. It was founded by Hth on April 4, 1999. Members discussed femslash pairings from fandoms like Xenaverse, X-Files, and Highlander.
Ladyslash offered femslash fans a place where they could connect, share their f/f fanfiction, and discuss the f/f subtext of their favorite shows. However, the term is still occasionally used for fanfic about queer female characters.

AUTHOR: aPlatonic CAST: Calliope/Roxy RATING: Explicit WORD COUNT: 2692 ADDITIONAL TAGS: post SBURB AU, slice of life, created for drone season 2014 SUMMARY: Calliope and Roxy make a life for themselves after the game. Also featuring Rose Lalonde's psychiatry and guest star Tamika Flynn. EXCERPT: You remember you were terrified to strip in front of her when you first started dating. You’ve since been reassured that this is perfectly normal, but you don’t see how it can be - you were sure that your body would only disappoint her, even if she wasn’t disgusted. Weren’t human relationships meant to be physical in nature? When she saw you, surely she’d realise that physical relationships would be out of the question. It’s basic biology. But eventually you worked up the courage to open yourself up to her judgement. To your shock, she didn’t react with dismay or revulsion, or even surprise. More of a… critical examination, scouring your body with her gaze, followed by a decision that this was something she could work with. Which she then set about proving to her satisfaction. Multiple times that night. Admittedly, you weren’t entirely prepared for her body. Rose’s book of lore didn’t provide anatomical diagrams, and you hadn’t been particularly inclined to spy on the humans to that degree. But there were more… lumps than you were expecting? And what on earth was that meant to be- -ah, that’s what it does. Luckily you had a patient and enthusiastic teacher, and it didn’t take long to get the hang of things. rec'd by likeasmilinggod
AUTHOR: #sunbreaksdown CAST: Rose/Kanaya/Vriska; John, Karkat RATING: T WORD COUNT: 16529 ADDITIONAL TAGS: complete, future AU SUMMARY: Five years after the game's over and done with, everyone's settled down on the newly recreated Earth. The universe itself seems to bend its will to make life easier for them, and there are absolutely no gaps to slip through. Everything's fine. EXCERPT: John turns eighteen. It's not the milestone it should be. Conquering thirteen and what came after it had been an accomplishment in and of itself, and he recalls that birthday intimately, with the sort of stark clarity he'd be better off without. The birthdays that inevitably followed only served to pull him further from the game's end, rather than push him on in his life, but John doesn't mind as much as he could. He's in one piece. They're all in one piece, somehow; he accepts that fact, and he doesn't question the truth of their reality, lest his wonderings cause it to come apart at the seams. As if a mere thought could destroy a universe. The planet they live on now is young, a warped mirror image of what both Earth and Alternia once were, and he knows that barely anyone realises just how fragile it really is. rec'd by 2olluxvanta2
