For Black History Month, I've collected a sample of Black female artists and their placements that I enjoy listening to from the Neo-Soul, Rap, Afro-beats, R&B, and Alternative genres.

She mentioned in an Apple Music interview, that her faith and connection with the higher power is a main motivator for continuing her music. She's also in the music group SAULT. She came from a musical background as a middle child, giving her space to blend in behind the scenes, experiment with music, and discover her authentic voice through trial & error. She mentioned that her true purpose as an artist is to be a vessel projecting the messages received from God. The warmth from her voice captivates and comforts her audience.

Her words are soft and her rhythm is loud. She embodies the qualities of a developed Aries woman making a name for herself in the Jazz, R&B, and Neo-soul genres.

I feel a personal connection to this artist because her music is healing to the inner child and we happen to share a name. Her middle name, Azeb is the name of her album and means , "Where the Sun rises". Azeb/Makeba are also names of the Queen of Sheba.

Aquarius Sun 26°( Venus degree), Mercury in Aquarius in 5th° ( Leo/Sun degree):
Megan has mastered her craft as a successful business owner, producer, actress, and rap genius. A daughter of Saturn receives her rewards in abundance when she puts in work and learns her lessons.
Moon & Mars in Leo (RX) in 4th House:
Meg has been ambitious from early childhood because her authenticity & confidence was instilled within her by her parents.

Megan learned from trial & error that the people in her inner circle need to be chosen intentionally due to the loss, betrayal, envy, and disappointment. She learned to become more selective of her friend group to protect herself as an individual and an artist. Megan is a champion of Black women who know their worth by taking the necessary steps to develop themselves, and have a good ass time.

An artist who goes by her middle name, UMI, which means "Sea" in Japanese. Tierra grew up learning Japanese from her mom connecting to her Japanese culture. In the youtube video below, she mentioned her main influences came from listening to gospel choir at church with her dad, R&B and J-pop from the 80's & 90's.
Venus, MC, and Jupiter in Pisces :
Her music is spiritual, has intentional movement, and Japanese elements. Her attention to beauty, nature, falling in love, and being present in the moment is what makes her music stand out. "Lullaby" was the first song I heard from her when I was in high school ( years agooo).
