Random facts about the Commonwealth Brotherhood Pt. 1:

Elder Maxson and his right hand Lancer-Captain Kells did not tell Proctor Ingram, the one who actually flies the Prydwen, where they were going when they moved the ship to the Commonwealth. He didn’t even give her coordinates to fly to. This implies that almost no one on the ship knew exactly where they were going or why. 

Maxson’s Brotherhood pulled the same strong-arming-the-locals-for-resources stunt that Procter Teagan asks the player to do in the Commonwealth in the capital wastes before they left DC. 

Knight-Captain Cade (the head medical doctor) advised Captain Kells that Proctor Ingram had practiced with her mobility aid power armor frame extensively and was actually more equipped to be deployed to the wasteland than most abled soldiers. Kells nonetheless denied Ingram’s many requests to be deployed to the wasteland. Maxson also requested that Ingram be put on mandatory medical leave, despite not having issues that interfere with her work. This shows that there is ableism within the Brotherhood.

Captain Kells (with Maxson’s blessing) sent an individual soldier (paladin) to clear a massive amount of super mutants alone, despite knowing the great risks of doing so. This makes me think that they are short on manpower in the Commonwealth and cannot provide a full squad for every mission. This would also make the fact that you are immediately given the rank of knight just because of Danse’s recommendation make more sense. 

The Brotherhood is actively trying to find Recon Squad Artemis as of their arrival in the Commonwealth. They have apparently sent several squads to do so which is an impressive amount of manpower to find one missing squad. This is kind of strange when thinking about how they only sent one paladin to clear out most of the mutants in the Commonwealth.

A lot of resources were used to get the Prydwen to the Commonwealth and because of that they are not going to be able to hover over the Boston Airport for long. The Prydwn will have to land soon if they are unable to recover a lot of resources in a short amount of time.

Alright, so I believe I’ve found my new favourite mod for Fallout 4: The Danse Dilemma.

This mod restores a portion of the Blind Betrayal quest that was cut from the final game, allowing you and Paladin Danse to challenge Elder Maxson to a duel and usurp his command. Once defeated, you can either pass the title on to Danse, or take it for yourself. Taking it for yourself allows you to spare the Railroad during Tactical Thinking. 

However, because much of the dialogue for this was either cut or never recorded, the mod author had to make use of what dialogue was already in the game. As a result, the scene with Lancer-Captain Kells plays out in an oddly hilarious way. 

Your character just subtly and savagely shoots down Tuvok’s long-lost-genocidal doppelganger with three simple words, and Kells just backtracks so damn fast, acting like he didn’t just tell you to murder some of your closest allies and then goes about his business.

Why is Kells the biggest matchmaker in the Brotherhood?

Because he ships everyone.

Danse had intended to wait for the new recruit just outside of Knight-Captain Cade's quarters, but decided against it once he remembered just how thin the walls were in that area of the Prydwen. As he made for the command deck, he couldn't help but overhear what should've been a private conversation.

"Interspecies fraternization? You lost me here, Doc."

"Intercourse with non-humans," Cade explained patiently. "Ghouls, super-mutants, synths... This is no joke, Knight. It happens more often than you’d think."

Danse frowned as he climbed down the ladder leading to the command deck. Johnson was way too flippant about this. The man had potential, but he needed some sense knocked into him, ASAP.

A raid in a mutants' hive, maybe. That should do the job, Danse thought as he opened the door leading to the flight deck. Lancer-Captain Kells was there, cap tipped low over his face to protect his cigarette from the pouring rain.

"Paladin." Kells gave him a brisk nod. "Dropped your blue-head already?"

Danse refused the offered smoke and looked at the grey waters of Boston's inner harbor below them. "He's doing his medical check with Cade."

Kells nodded absently. "I hope you're right about him. Our previous interactions with locals were complete disasters."

From what Danse had gathered, Johnson hardly qualified as a local, but it wasn't his place to share another's man story. Especially when he had limited knowledge of it at best. "I'm confident he can be a great asset to the Brotherhood. He’s got gunshooting skills, is in good shape and doesn't question orders."

"Sounds too good to be true," Kells smirked, tapping the ashes of his cigarette out. "Tell me, is the hanging tongue part of the package deal?"

Danse stiffened. He'd noticed that trend in Johnson's attitude, but had dismissed it as typical authority worship -- and most importantly, he hadn't expected others to pick up on it so quickly. He really needed to get out of his head more. "Sir?"

"I don't blame you," Kells said. "It makes for a comforting presence onboard. Keeps you warm at night."

"Sir."

"Just make sure he doesn’t shit on deck," Kells concluded, flicking his cigarette over the railing. "Wouldn’t make your protégé look good."

Danse’s brows raised in slow realization. "You mean the actual dog."

"Well, yes." Kells gave him a puzzled look. "What did you think I was referring to?"

Better end this before he made an even bigger fool of himself. "Nothing important. Lancer-Captain," Danse saluted quickly before operating a strategic retreat.

Johnson and his damned pooch had better be ready to depart when he made it to the main deck.
