Morocco Blue. This might be the cleanest one I’ve done so far. Really pleased the wood has some cool grain as well. Really provides a nice depth of glow. It’s headed to Texas for a private collection. Orbital View. Maple, 9 1/4 inches diameter by 2 inches tall. Working with some new (to me) products and exploring another artistic process. I’ve been doing a lot of travel lately, most recent being the flight home from Thanksgiving with my in-laws in New Mexico. The view from the airplane was my inspiration on this. There was enough sunlight to really make the colors pop. Strata. I’ve always been fascinated by the geology of road cuts. Seeing much more highway with all the travel I’ve been doing lately and it dawned on my the strata layers really do resemble wood grain. Exploring figure and texture with this one. Squigglefish. Had the opportunity to spend two days in class with Michael Hosaluk last week. This class was hosted by @dovetailwoodarts and came at exactly the right time in my woodturning developement. Michael is an amazing turner and mind blowing artist and the class was full of other fantastic talent too! Think I’m going to play with this process for a while, lots to experiment with!!
