I passed my LCSW exam this morning, and it was SO unsatisfying because instead of giving me a printout the screen just said PASS in tiny letters after I hit submit. So now the dumbest and most useless part of my brain is like "what if I just hallucinated that I passed? there's no proof!" So now I am Jacob Wysocky style repeating to myself "you are a regular guy, you know what the word 'pass' looks like."

I passed my LCSW exam (to be licensed as a social worker in CA)! After like five and a half years and 3200 hours of supervised work and a 170 question exam, I'm done and licensed and I feel like sleeping for a thousand years and my bedroom is a disaster after studying the past two weeks

so glad that test is over with

Also very glad that I can go back to doing art and writing and fandom stuff without feeling guilty because I should be studying, so hopefully now I can get some of those wips done soon 🙂

stop gendering your compassion for survivors of abuse - and see your humanity for what it is

Young boys get sexually abused by adults at high rates, too. Nonbinary and trans people at even higher rates. Patterns of some of the worst kinds of abuse run along power lines and opportunity - they aren't limited to one kind of child, and they are not just perpetrated by one kind of person. Women, queer people, and trans people are capable of committing this violence also. You have to be able to face this if you are sincere in your concern for the dangers and consequences of this abuse. If you want to help deal with the problem, you should want to be able to understand the conditions in which it occurs.

With boys, and in similar ways with queer people, many portions of society see this as more humorous than tragic. Can you examine the things you say online and truly declare that you're blameless of that crime? It's sometimes edgy humor, or jokes about how a child was lucky to sleep with a milf, or that an abuse victim had pleasure. Words like "butthurt" illustrate what I'm talking about - laughing at the victims of 'creepy uncles', iffy vicars. Now increasingly ominous 'radfem' ideas spreading with frequency and variety.

Abuse survivors and victims of all kinds are treated poorly in all societal groupings & settings. It's alarming that tumblr isn't just a vector for it, but an originator of so much of it.

ha ha murder all men jokes don't create safe places for children (or anyone else). They don't endanger abusers or predators, either - you're helping them mask, and creating a culture of terror that is their preferred playground.

I think that if you want to make comments to let off steam, remarks about shooting all men, or hunting down people who look at porn, you should keep them very private. You should recuse yourself from larger society while you're in that mood, and work out your feelings.

Take some time to craft dialogue for yourself that adds to the safety and joy of human life and interaction.

I really had hoped that mainstream society had learned all these lessons in the 1980s. It is breathtaking how quickly this next crop of innocents were turned into vicious predators with even less intelligence or compassion than their Moral Majority role models.

For my own letting off of steam, I hope y'all's day is done pretty soon, I'm sick of wannabe church lady scolds on tumblr.
