Instead of beef burgers, these lean turkey and mushroom burgers are a healthier option. The mushrooms add flavor and moisture. They're juicy, tasty, and great for a burger night without feeling bad about it!
Ingredients: 1 lb lean ground turkey. 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1 egg. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 4 whole wheat burger buns. Lettuce, tomato, and your favorite toppings.
Instructions: In a skillet, saut mushrooms, onions, and garlic until soft and most of the moisture has evaporated. Let it cool. In a bowl, mix the sauted mushroom mixture, ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties. Preheat grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Grill or cook patties for about 5-6 minutes per side or until cooked through. Toast whole wheat buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned. Assemble your burgers with lettuce, tomato, and your favorite toppings. Serve hot and enjoy!
