Ah, yes, those two totally connected professions... librarian and nutrition coordinator.
I was looking up alternate names for "librarian" to make a post about different names for the profession and...
So it’s 8 at night on a Sunday and I’m creeping school learning commons sites for ideas for mine.
I’m a nerd.
Happy Homo days moth
happy homo days anon I just need you to know this made me cry laugh last night, so enjoy this new LC chapter just for you<3
Chapter 27: The Vault + Bonus
Adventures in Librarian-ing
Grade 1 Kid, very worried: Ms. Flecha, this book has a rip in it right here. *shows me the rip*
Me: Ah, I can fix that. I have special tape just for that.
Grade 1: *intrigued* Special tape?
Me, as I rifle around for the tape and assess the damage: Yup! It's even called "book tape" because it's made for fixing books just like we're doing.
Grade 1: Why is it special?
Me, as I begin rolling out the tape: Well, it's stronger than regular tape but not too thick so you can still bend the page--
Grade 1: This one's also see-through too!
Me: That's right! That's so you can fix the book but still see the writing or pictures underneath.
Classmate: What are you guys doing?
Me: We're fixing a ripped book.
Grade 1: With book tape!
Classmate: Haha "book tape". *chuckles*
Me: No, really! That's what this kind of tape is called. It even says so on the roll, see? *kids lean in to look*
Grade 1: *repeats to Classmate what we've discussed about what makes book tape special*
Me: *lining up the pages for repair* Alright, time for some book surgery!
Grade 1 & Classmate: *cackle like it's the funniest thing they've ever heard in their lives and mumble "book surgery" in between giggles*
Adventures in Librarian-ing
Overheard this morning as two middle school students exited the learning commons:
"*gasp* Imagine a Karen actually named Karen! DOUBLE THREAT!"
Nearly burst a lung trying not to laugh out loud.
P.S. They hadn't been talking about Karens before the outburst; this was entirely out of the blue.
Adventures in Librarian-ing
Me, during my introduction to the kids: So you'll probably be able to start going to the Learning Commons not this upcoming week, but next week.
Grade 2 Kid: FINALLY!
