Its not great, but I made it from scraps and garbage! For a first try I'm happy with how it turned out. Simple d ring strap to keep my purse closed

Finally some leather crafting again
Finally found the time to go on working on the next journal I started weeks ago ;)
And I really enjoy to do some more stitching today, it´s actually quite relaxing - and I don´t have much what calms me down at all. So it´s a good thing I guess =)
Adding the pins
After the ribbons and the first stitching I finally could attach the pins, too =)
For the position here a pic of the original:
Ready for the first stitches
So, I´m finally ready for the first stitches of the “real” replica.
Next days I hope I can finish the first pages including John´s text. Of course I will show you =)
The Flaps
Next I added the flap for the pen:
And the closing flap:
Now you can already close it =)
Before sew together the next pieces, I added my initials, for this is going to be my very own journal. The next one is going to be the real journal replica with "HW" on it.
Because I neither found stamps in exactly the font and size I was looking for, nor any I could afford, once again I worked with this little tool. I just searched for a, in my opinion, most similar font to the one on the journal and printed it out in the equal size. Then I just pushed it on the leather. It came out very good, I think =)
Then finally it was time for the stitching of the whole journal:
Attention, Attention: Very Important!
2 things you should coercively avoid while building your replica-journal:
Bullet 1: Do not try to sew yourself within:
I hope the blood on the leather won´t be visible after dyeing =(
Note to bullet 1: For myself is now part of the journal with my blood, you should burn it after my passing as far as possible, if there are going to happen any strange things.
Bullet 2: Don´t pour water into your keyboard. That is not required for building your journal and just contributes to the fact that you are a. more stressed and b. making a thundering mess.
Thank you very much for your attention.
