When I was younger my mom refused to buy me sweets so I went on a major baking kick with our ancient cook book and practically NO ingredients that are needed for most sweets aside from plain sugar and all purpose flour. Needless to say when I tried to substitute things I made many many messes and failed attempts. Eventually I found this oatmeal??? Brown sugar cookie??? Thing????? It wasn’t horrible and I made it a few times. It still wasn’t right bc of missing ingredients but it was edible!!!!!!
