Today is one of those days where I sit at my desk and my leg just bounces itself.
Them: How do you eat so much and don't get fat
Me: I use all the extra energy for fucking leg bouncing

1.01 Aftermath
Rapid leg bouncing is my version of the zoomies.
My cat is 15. Her life consists of sleeping with small amounts of eating and cuddling. And rarely, a case of the ZOOMIES. Usually at some unholy pre-dawn hour and accompanied by yowling. Even in an elderly cat, sometimes energy just builds up to a point where you can no longer contain it.
And then there’s me. Trapped behind a desk with a veritable mountain of work to sift through. And I’m a grown ass adult. So I can’t exactly spring up from my desk and run through the campus buildings while engaging in primal scream therapy.
There are times I really want to, though.
Enter the rapid leg bouncing. Uncontrolled and often unnoticed, my right leg has taken it upon itself to zoom in place. Vestiges of uncivilized urges to expend energy if not in combat with those who frustrate me, then at least in motion. Any kind of motion.
Sitting behind my desk, typing rapidly, or scribbling notations in the margins of papers, this is the only movement left to me.
Sometimes I wonder why it's so much harder to tire out my legs than my arms while I'm working out... But then I catch myself doing The Bounce™
