I'm back. Here are my final Lenten 2017 thoughts. Have a great Easter everyone.
Yesterday for my lent exercise challenge I did 20 minutes on the cross trainer before work. Sometimes you can only fit a little in, but it's better than nothing!
Someday I WILL spend Holy Week in the Holy Land, following our Lord to Calvary and beyond. But for now, I'll spend Holy Week getting up a little earlier to go to mass each day!
Day Thirty-three:
We all have crosses to carry. No one is without them. The challenge is to figure out how to carry them with the Lord in a way that honors and glorifies Him. It’s not about how well we carry the cross. It’s about who we honor, magnify, and glorify as we carry those crosses.
I think any of us would be hard pressed to find a person who is without crosses to bear. We all have relationships that are difficult. We all have problems with family or friends. We all struggle with doing our best at work. We all have people in our lives who try us to the point of exhaustion and frustration. We can be pushed to our last nerve. We can have illnesses that cause us pain. But the reality is the Lord is always with us and no matter what is happening in our lives we are called to love the Lord with all that we are.
The good news is – Jesus is always there with us. The Holy Spirit is upon us, blessing us with the grace and strength we need to stay focused on the Lord. The Father is carrying us in His arms and leading us to a place of peace and tranquility. The question is – do we let the Holy Trinity into all our tough situations? Do we allow the Holy Trinity to lead us and guide us through the difficult moments of our lives? Do we let the Holy Trinity help us carry our crosses so that the Trinity is magnified and blessed?
We don’t think about who is watching us. We don’t think about who is looking to us as an example of how to live. We don’t necessarily realize that we really are God’s presence in the world and how we choose to behave has an impact on others and how others respond to the Lord in their lives. So, are we carrying our crosses in a way that is worthy of the Lord?
As this season of Lent continues let’s ask the Lord to be with us as we carry our crosses. Let’s allow Him into our struggles and allow Him to strengthen us and bless us so that we can in turn honor and glorify Him by how we carry our crosses.
Prayer:
Lord, You know all the crosses I carry. I ask You for the strength and grace to carry them in such a way that others are inspired to serve You, in a way that honors and glorifies You, and in ways that help me grow in holiness. I truly wish to serve You in all the struggles of life. Thank You for always being with me. Thank You for always loving me. Thank You for always blessing me. Help me to live in such a way that I might become worthy of Your love, forgiveness and mercy. Amen.
Today is the first day of Lent! (March 1, 2017- April 13th, 2017.) So if you need anything tagged, please just send me an ask (anon is always fine!) and I'll do my best!
Lent Update (3/15/17)
For Lent my main focus has been reading the Gospels, and I am determined to read all four by the end of Lent. Well, I don’t want to boast or anything but, I finished reading the book of Matthew last night! Which is seriously a big accomplishment for myself because as sad as it is to say this, I have never actually read an entire book of the Bible all the way through before. So that alone is a pretty big success for me. I tend to be that person who just skips around the Bible and reads random verses here and there. But I’ve never actually finished an entire book, so I’m pretty happy about that. Also, I have been struggling with my Lenten sacrifice of not sleeping in. I have been sleeping in later than I want to some days and I’m not real happy about that. I’m still trying though.
How has Lent been for you guys so far? I’d love to know! Also, if you have any prayer requests or rosary intentions remember you can send them to me!
I hope you guys are having a Blessed Lent!
Start of Lent
Hey all! It’s that time of the year again, where I go on hiatus to relearn Jesus, but this year will be a little bit different. I signed up for Yuri!!! on Ice fan event (specifically a reverse bigbang! right now writers can sign up to claim artists for work so if you're interested or wanna learn more, go check out the main homepage here! ) So because of that i’ll mostly be ghosting on here? I’ll be checking updates on that and see if I get messages, stuff like that; but since that’s tied to my artblog, I’ll mostly be gone over here. So basically no reblogs, no asks, and probs no messages over here. I’m debating on deleting the app until Easter, but I need the big bang notifications;; maybe i’ll get spiritually stronger for resisting creeping on anything else lol
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good March! Study well, do your best, and good luck toward all your endeavors! God Bless!!
