Jesus said, "It is finished." John 19:30
When Jesus lifted up His voice and said, " It is finished," He did not mean His life was ebbing away or God's plan had been foiled. Though death was near, Jesus realized the last obstacle had been hurdled and the last enemy destroyed. He had successfully and triumphantly completed the task of redemption. With the words, "It is finished," He announced that Heaven's door was open. Kingdoms and empires come and go, but the cross and all it stands for will always remain towering over the wrecks of time!

amazing playlist I found that helped with my creative process
My wee dad on his favourite day of the year, St. Patrick's day. This is the last photo ever taken of him, it's 2020, just a couple of weeks later lockdown began and on the 5th of April, he died of COVID. St. Patrick's day will forever be bittersweet for me now, but when I think of my dad, this image is what springs to mind and I smile. I have many memories of seeing him stagger down the street towards his front door wearing a hat similar to this as he had attempted to drink the pub dry of Guinness 🤣 never forgetting his Irish roots of which he felt great pride. He would usually give up alcohol for lent but always said St. Patrick's day was exempt which I thought was Hughie making his own rules only to learn from an Irish work friend that this is infact is an Irish rule, tonight I will raise a glass and remember my dad on his favourite day of the year, "Sláinte" 🤣🤣 💚💛💚
Lent 2025
This Lent, may we remember the sacredness of every life, entrusted to us by God, the Giver of Life.
Prints, plaques & holy cards available for purchase. (website)
fun lent fact since y'all enjoy my catholicism posts so much. when we say lent is 40 days long we are not including the sundays. there are forty non-sunday days between mardi gras and easter, plus the five numbered sundays of lent, plus palm sunday, which is the sunday before easter, it just gets its own special name.
but it's forty days of fasting because sunday is the sabbath and doesn't count, for whatever reason.
(i tend to use that fact to rationalize taking a cheat day for whatever i'm giving up, but i don't think that's a church-approved practice. i was certainly never taught it that way.)
since Lent is tomorrow just wanted to say i wont be active on here or any other social media as ill be fasting from it for the whole 40 days
may everyone have a blessed Lent this year, God willing. may God bless you and your families with health and safety and happiness ♡
