“Alhaitham, would you put that book down and show some interest in what’s going on?” Kaveh nagged, giving the scribe a brief nudge with his elbow. Alhaitham simply turned the page, his eyes not even leaving said book.
“Well, that’s just it. I have no interest in what’s going on, and I see no logic in why I should pretend otherwise. Unlike someone, I don’t feel the overbearing need to be involved with the odd occurrences in other people’s lives.” Alhaitham didn’t need to look up to notice the scowl upon Kaveh’s face.
“You-!” Kaveh took in a deep, calming breath before continuing. “It’s not like its random people involved here. We’re your partners, you should care.”
“If the matter wasn’t so juvenile, then naturally I would be taking this more seriously. However, a ‘tickle fight’ is not exactly something I would classify as urgent.”
“Tighnari asked us to help him, and as his partners, we should support him.” Kaveh started losing his patience again.
“But the person he’s asked us to help with is also our partner.”
“That’s not the point, Alhaitham!”
“Then what is the point?”
“If your partners reach out to you and ask for help, it should be a no brainer for you to help them. Stop being so stubborn and get with the program!” Kaveh reached out to flick Alhaitham’s forehead, which finally got his attention. The scribe’s piercing eyes stared into Kaveh’s, unreadable as usual.
Kaveh never backed down against stare offs with Alhaitham usually, but when his book snapped shut and he started to slowly approach Kaveh, he started to back up nervously.
“W-Wait… Don’t you da-”
The door suddenly opened, stopping both in their tracks. Kaveh had never been so thankful to see Tighnari and Cyno enter a room before, he knew if they hadn’t then Kaveh would be feeling the scribe’s wrath right then.
“Is everything ok?” Tighnari questioned the two, worried that something had occurred that would affect his planning.
“Fine!” Kaveh tried to sound convincing but even Alhaitham couldn’t hide his smirk at how flustered the blonde sounded. “You both ready for our card game?”
“I’m always ready,” Cyno declared with an established confidence, holding up his deck of cards ready and waiting. Thankfully, he showed no signs of awareness to the trio’s true intentions.
“Then let’s get started, shall we?” Tighnari smiled, one that cleverly hid the mischief behind it.
As the four settled in around the table and began to deal the cards, Tighnari exchanged knowing glances and subtle nods with Kaveh and Alhaitham. They had to keep up this illusion long enough for Cyno to be within a complete sense of security.
The tension mounted as they played the first few hands, but when Tighnari stepped up to get everyone a beverage, he looked at his partners knowingly. A prearranged signal to get ready and strike.
On 3.
1…
2….
….3!
Tighnari sprung into action and pounced at the General. However, Cyno, ever alert, must have sensed the ambush and dodged it with agile speed, causing Tighnari to stumble to the ground with an ungraceful thud.
Kaveh groaned and slapped a hand to his head as Tighnari missed the target, watching as Cyno loomed over the fox instead.
“I had a feeling you were up to something,” Cyno remarked. “Your tail twitches a lot more when you have something on your mind.”
Tighnari would have responded to the accusation, but he was too busy scowling at his tail. No doubt cursing it for betraying him like this.
“So, this whole thing was a setup, huh?” Cyno questioned, observing the abandoned card game on the table then back down to Tighnari with a playful smirk. “Shall we call this failed attempt number two?”
What Cyno didn’t expect, was the sudden voice behind him, speaking directly into his ear. “And who said it was a failure?”
Before Cyno could even move an inch, he was obtained in a pair of strong arms wrapping around him. He glared over his shoulder at his captor, who only held a smug expression as they lowered him to the ground with ease.
Alhaitham managed to restrain Cyno long enough for Tighnari to help, both effectively pinning Cyno down to the ground.
“Huh. So you were on board, after all?” Kaveh sounded surprised, strolling over to kneel beside his partners.
“I never said that I wasn’t on board. I only stated that I wasn’t interested.”
“Oh, whatever.” Kaveh looked down into Cyno’s eyes, who looked very amused by this turn of events. “Let’s just make sure to keep him down.”
“Is this really necessary?” Cyno questioned up at his partners, who held uncomfortably smug expressions for the General’s position.
“After what you did to me, yes,” Tighnari used his fingers to wiggle at Cyno’s sides, causing him to flinch and attempts to squirm. “Consider this payback.”
Cyno’s sides weren’t as ticklish as some other parts of him, but they were enough to get some giggles from him. A sound that all his partners found quite endearing, considering his stoic nature.
Alhaitham made sure Cyno kept his arms up high above his head, giving Tighnari free reign over his torso. Though the scribe couldn’t help but mess with Cyno and leaned down a scribbling finger into his exposed underarm.
“Ahaha!” Cyno cackled, unable to keep his composure. “Thahat’s not fahair!”
“Who said we were playing fair?” Alhaitham teased smugly, continuing to tickle his underarm while Tighnari leaned down to blow a raspberry onto his tummy.
“NAHA! Tighnahahari!”
“Yes, Cyno?” Tighnari smirked before planting another raspberry right over his bellybutton, sending Cyno into another fit of laughter before he could even answer.
This was payback after all, Cyno would be foolish to expect mercy so early on.
“Are you having fun observing?” Alhaitham commented to Kaveh, who up until this point was laughing along with Cyno’s amusing cackles. “All that lecturing earlier and you sit by idly watching us do all the work?”
“Don’t you get all high and mighty with me!” Kaveh snapped back, crawling down so that he was situated next to Cyno’s legs. “I was just taking it in. Besides, we all know that this is the spot that gets him the most.”
“Dohon’t you dahare!” Cyno warned, though it wasn’t as intimidating as he would have liked, having been weakened by his mirthful laughs.
“So sorry, but this is for our precious Tighnari.” Kaveh grabbed an ankle and began ticklish the bottom of Cyno’s foot, his most known ticklish spot.
“AHAHAHA!” Cyno’s laugh bellowed throughout the room, his body desperately squirming and trying to free himself from his captors. “NOHOHOT THEHERE!”
Tighnari’s ears had to lower to try and block out some of the louder laughs, but he didn’t regret his payback in the slightest. In fact, he would allow himself to indulge for a bit longer, not letting this rare opportunity go to waste.
A/N: Hello from the past! I want to thank @xsezzie for sponsoring this one fic and for being extremely patient with me throughout the process - as you, who is reading this, may already imagine why!
It was a pleasure working with these two cuties, even more because I had to chance to write for baby alhaitham ehehe
Summary: Kaveh invites Alhaitham over his place to work on a project for some extra credits by the end of the semester. It can't be that hard to get to work with his junior, right?
Word count: 1891 words
Kaveh let out an unamused sigh, resting his chin on top of his knuckles. “Can you stop doing that?” He muttered, jabbing his junior’s side while furrowing his brows. Alhaitham squealed in surprise, nearly flipping the whole table before him, and Kaveh couldn’t help but to think that this was the first time he clearly heard Alhaitham’s voice during that afternoon.
It should have been about two or three hours since they started working on their project for the presentations of the end of the semester in the Akademiya and it annoyed Kaveh to the core that Alhaitham simply refused to speak.
At first, inviting his cute little junior to join him in his project didn’t sound like a bad idea. All his interactions with Alhaitham throughout the semester were limited to small talks at the hallways or at the library - and there was something about that quiet, shy guy that drew Kaveh’s attention to him. Maybe, this was the chance he was waiting for all this time, right?
Wrong.
Ever since Alhaitham arrived at Kaveh’s place, the guy seemed to get even more nervous than he usually was.
“How are you?”
“...Fine.”
“Would you like something to eat?”
“...No.”
“Do you want to take a break?”
“...No.”
Agh, that guy!
The short talk was driving Kaveh up the wall, no matter what he tried, he couldn’t initiate a conversation with his junior. Just like the talk, Kaveh’s patience was also running short. And to make matters worse, they were also having little to no progress in their project as well, with barely a page written after hours of work - or attempts of working, to be precise.
Kaveh, at some point, just leaned over his sketches, pressing his forehead on the wooden table and watching Alhaitham with the corner of his eye. What’s wrong with that guy, anyway?
Alhaitham was clearly tense about this whole setting as well, fidgeting with his pen and pretending to write over and over - did he even notice Kaveh had already figured him out by that time? Still, he insisted on feigning effort, in making up excuses to avoid talking to his senior.
Could it be, Kaveh wondered, that Alhaitham actually disliked him? And he was being a jerk instead of the nice, cool senior he dreamed to be?!
Well, the only way to figure this out was talking things through with Alhaitham, which would set him back to 0 progress - after all, this was the main issue: his inability to start a conversation with Alhaitham.
Out of ideas, running out of patience and tired of the same dry, meaningless answers, Kaveh channeled all his inner rage and bubbling insecurities to the tip of his fingers. Then, he delivered his blow: a precise, “lethal” poke, right in the middle of Alhaitham’s side - which brings us back to the present.
As that surprised, panicked squeal left Alhaitham’s lips, the junior student’s first reaction was to cover his lips with one hand, leaning away from Kaveh while widening his eyes in shock.
“Can you stop doing that?” Kaveh groaned, unamused.
“D-doing what, senior?” Alhaitham mumbled from behind his hand, barely standing to make his eye contact with Kaveh last for more than 5 seconds. His cheeks slowly began to heat up, contrasting the color of his grayish hair. “I’m n-not doing anything, I swe-”
“And that’s the problem!” Kaveh quickly sat back up, slamming his hands flat against the table. “Why won’t you talk to me?!”
Alhaitham curled up slightly, holding his hands close to his chest while his body prepared itself to run away. He looked at Kaveh from head to toe, making his senior wonder what kind of thoughts could be passing through his head.
“I… I’m talking to you, thought,” he spoke sheepishly and Kaveh could literally feel something inside him snap after hearing that comment.
He poked Alhaitham again, this time on the middle of his chest, and began to tower over him. Alhaitham, his oh-so-cute junior, was really getting on his nerves today. “What. Is. Your. Problem?!” Kaveh groaned, making Alhaitham jolt slightly with each time his finger came into contact with his chest.
“S-senior, cahalm down!” Alhaitham’s eyes darted back and forth between his senior’s hand and face, his hands aimlessly trying to defend himself.
“I’ve been nothing but nice to you, why are you so tense all the ti-”
“Ah!
“...me.” Kaveh stopped - no, “froze” was a better way to describe it - in his tracks. “D-did you just laugh?”
“...No?” Alhaitham muttered, blinking a few times in confusion as that frustrated face suddenly softened, almost as if Kaveh forgot the reason he was getting angry in the first place. “C-can… we go back to the project, s-senior Kaveh?”
“Sure,” Kaveh muttered, that brief sound still resonating inside his head. As he pulled his hand back, coughing to clear up his throat, his mind drifted to somewhere else, trying to figure out what just happened.
The first, and most obvious hypothesis, came up seconds later and his eyes already began to spark with mischief. “So, have you found any good reference material so far?” Kaveh muttered, his hand sneaking under the table.
“N-not yet, sehEHE-” Alhaitham nearly jumped off his chair when Kaveh lightly pinched his side. The blushing on his cheeks worsened, but acknowledging it - that it tickled - sounded like a terrible idea at the point. “Ahem, not yet, seniohor…”
Kaveh narrowed his eyes. Yeah, he was definitely ticklish, though, but the type that would play tough? He didn’t expect that. Still, it was pretty cute to watch him try to act cool…
“Hmm, maybe if we look a little more thoroughly, we might find something interesting…” Kaveh smiled, poking Alhaitham’s side again and, this time, tracing a little circle with his index finger just below his junior’s rib, “just like I did now.”
Alhaitham’s hands trembled on top of the table, the pen nearly breaking inside his grip that only grew tighter. Alhaitham could feel a drop of sweat sliding down his temper and Kaveh’s predatory gaze on him. This was bad. “S-senior, cohould you stop that?” He muttered, trying to gently push Kaveh’s hand away with his elbow.
“But aren’t you still nervous, ‘Haitham?” Kaveh cooed teasingly. “I thought we should take a little break to… ease the tension.”
“N-nohoh neehed, sehehenior,” Alhaitham gritted his teeth, battling against the urge to laugh while the corners of his lips were already pulling up. “I-I’m f-pfft… f-fihine.”
Kaveh grinned, this was probably the first time he has heard his junior… giggle. It was weird, now that he thought about it, how Alhaitham was always so quiet around him - short talks, avoiding eye contact, barely making any noise… What was his deal, after all? Still, he wasn’t going to let go of this chance, not when he was so close to breaking the ice between them.
“Are you suuure you are fine, ‘Haitham? Look at how hard you’re clenching your hands… you are definitely way too tense. Your face will end up covered in wrinkles when you get older if you are always so nervous, don’t you know that?”
He could almost see how Alhaitham’s muscles contracted and tensed under the tip of his finger, how his skin was prickling with goosebumps and heard how his breathing hitched after each poke. “Sehenior, w-wehe need to fihihinish our projehect!”
“Not now, ‘Haitham’,” Kaveh grinned. Having collected enough data to support his “thesis”, it was time to put all that knowledge into practice. “We need to work on all this tension first.”
Those words sat inside Alhaitham’s mind like a rock thrown in the middle of a peaceful lake. It didn’t take Alhaitham more than seconds to realize the actual meaning behind that excuse and to understand what Kaveh planned to do - still, it was too late.
“N-no, sehenior, tha-aHAHA”, Alhaitham giggled, caught off guard by his own voice when Kaveh tickled both his sides at once. Before he could think of a way to defend himself, his senior already had him trapped against his own chair, with his hands palming and squeezing his sides and stomach.
“How did I not know you are ticklish, ‘Haitham?” Kaveh chuckled along, pinpointing one sensitive spot after the other, managing to avoid Alhaitham’s hands over and over, not allowing the other to stop him in his tracks. “Were you hiding such a cool detail from me? Why? Aren’t we friends?”
If he wasn’t busy laughing and trying to find a way out of this awful situation, Alhaitham would be cringing at those words. Of all the people inside the Akademiya, why did it have to be Kaveh the one to be messing with him?
His little heart beat faster and faster, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment caused by many different reasons at once. “S-sehehenior!! Stohohop it, this ihis not fuhuhunny!”
“Oh, but I’m having lots of fun, ‘Haitham, and aren’t you smiling just as much?” Kaveh teased, his hands clawing their way up from Alhaitham’s waist up to his ribs, making the junior’s laugh rise a pitch. “W-woah, you’re really ticklish here ~”
“W-wahAHAhait, plehehease!” Alhaitham whined, pressing his arms desperately tight against his body. He leaned forward, trying to to curl up in a vain attempt to stop that madding feeling. Alhaitham closed his eyes shut while a wide smile spreaded over his face. “I-it tihihickles too bahahad thehehere!!”
Gulp.
Kaveh wasn’t sure what kind of gear began to turn inside his head at that moment, but seeing Alhaitham smile and laugh - all because of him - made him feel… weird. Fuzzy and warm, as some would call it.
He felt some faint heat reaching his own cheeks while pushing Alhaitham back into his seat, preventing his junior from falling to the ground. “Is that so? Maybe I just figured out how to… make you less tense, right?”
“N-NOHOhoh!! Thahat’s not ihihihit!” Alhaitham shook his head, throwing it back in a fit of laughter after Kaveh managed to sneak his hands under his arms. It tickled more than he expected it to - it was much, much worse! “SehHEHEnior- ahAHAH, stahAHAHap it!”
It took Kaveh a few seconds to process what Alhaitham was saying. All he could focus on was how cute he looked, how adorable the sound of his laughter was and how seeing him like that made him spin. Of course, that also meant it took him a while to actually stop the tickling.
Once he withdrew his hands, Alhaitham’s body went limp against the chair. His head hung on top of the back rest and Kaveh was thankful that they didn’t make eye contact at that moment - this should give him plenty of time to get rid of his own blushing.
“So, caham, are you still nervous, ‘Haitham?” Kaveh smiled, reaching out and nudging Alhaitham’s cheek, playfully poking near the corner of his lips.
The only answer that came from Alhaitham was a tired, embarrassed groan. He pushed Kaveh’s hand away from his face, sitting back up and crossing his arms, “you’re the worst, senior,” he mumbled, crossing his arms and looking away while his cheeks still beamed up in that adorable shade of pink.
“Heh,” Kaveh chuckled, “you’re so cute, ‘Haitham,” he added, making his junior puff out his cheeks slightly. “Well, let’s get back to work, then. You already made us waste enough time ~”

Tighnari should’ve known something was up the moment that Alhaitham, of all people, wrapped him up in a hug. Usually, the forest ranger is more perceptive towards his partners’ shenanigans, but being left exhausted from a long day of work made him forget what awaited him back home.
Before he knew it, the taller male brought him over to the couch where his other two problematic- I mean, loving partners awaited him. He was carefully maneuvered to lay down across their laps, his legs draped over the architect, his torso on the scribe, and his head had a perfect view of the general mahamatra’s teasing smirk.
“Hope you didn’t forget your birthday present~”
“Please, this hardly counts as ohoHONE! WAh! You guHUHUYS!” Before the fox could continue complaining, three pairs of hands descended all over him. Kaveh’s hands squeezed delicately over his kneecaps. Alhaitham, always the logical one, would poke and prod at the forest ranger’s torso in such a calculated way that made the fennec want to crawl out of his skin. While Cyno went straight for the kill, stroking and caressing Tighnari’s ears.
All the different sensations across his body was enough to send him into hysterics, unable to get used to the contrasting touches. His legs would flail around, torso squirming like a worm and his ears would flicker, trying desperately to avoid the offending touches. Not like the others would let him wiggle away, and maybe he didn’t REALLY want to get away.
“Hah! See this? I always know how to rile him up. Isn’t that right, Nari?~” Cyno said proudly, the endearing nickname dripping in mock sweetness. He scratched at the base of the fox’s ears, causing the laughter to grow squeakier.
This earned a playful scoff from the blonde “Oh please, that’s nothing”
Tighnari felt his heart drop in his chest when his boots were carefully removed. “Waitwaitwait! Kaveh, don’t- DOHOHON’T!” the forest ranger shrieked, almost nailing the architect in the face when the latter started scratching and squeezing at the pink paw pads along the bottoms of his feet.
“Woah-! Your reflexes are as sharp as always, though I’ll still punish you for almost kicking me~” Kaveh held down Tighnari’s ankles more firmly, scribbling wherever his fingers would reach.
“Pfft, two can play at that game” the general shot back, turning this whole ordeal into a competition all of a sudden. Classic Cyno.
The dark haired male was too busy focusing on Kaveh’s fingers to notice the general grabbing one of his hands and holding it down. Once his glove was removed and he felt the cool air hit his bare skin did he look over to Cyno, eyes widening in dread, knowing what the other was planning.
“Cyno, I swehear- Ihi’ll suffocate you ihin your sleHEHEEP! NAHAHA!” The forest ranger tried yanking his hand free, but it was no use. The white haired male traced all over the pads in his fingers and palm, so gentle yet unbearably ticklish for the fox.
Tighnari squeezed his eyes shut and shook his head, anything to try to distract himself from the ticklish sensations along his hand and feet, but the two goobers were too relentless.
Most of the bickering between Cyno and Kaveh had been drowned out by the fox’s laughter, that didn’t mean it annoyed Alhaitham any less. Knowing them, they’d keep this going ‘till archon knows how long…
Suddenly, the architect and the general got distracted by the sounds of… purrs? Their ‘lil competition came to a halt, both of them stopping their tickling to look at Alhaitham, who was currently giving Tighnari some tummy rubs.
“Huh… who would’ve thought that you of all people knew how to get the best reactions from him” Kaveh commented in mock jest, earning an eye roll from the scribe.
Tighnari’s giggling high calmed down, the petting making him grow drowsy. His chest rumbled as his purrs grew louder when Cyno joined in, rubbing at his ears. The nail in the coffin was when Kaveh gently massaged the paw pads on his feet, sending Tighnari into bliss. His eyes slowly fluttered shut until all that could be heard were his soft snores and purrs.
Kaveh had to hold himself back from squealing at the sight, whereas Alhaitham, he umm… at least looked satisfied with this new turn of events. More peaceful than the previous bickering, that’s for sure.
Cyno leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on the fennec’s forehead before whispering a sweet ‘Happy birthday’ against his partner’s ear. A warm smile graced the sleeping male’s face, curling up in his boyfriends’ laps like a true fox. What a perfect way to end such a special day.

“alhaitham!” kaveh shouted, chasing after his roommate. “get back here!”
how did they get here?
first he was working on a project peacefully. nothing special, just some commission to design a pretty summer home.
so how did he end up chasing alhaitham all over their house?
the scribe stole his favourite pencil! how could he?! he couldn’t care less about alhaitham wanting him to take a “break”. he needed that commission finished asap!
“alhaitham!” he growled, picking up the pace.
“kaveh?” the other mocked, further enraging kaveh.
“i swear if you don’t give me that pencil i’ll have you regret it!” he shouted, more annoyed than ever.
“regret it, how?” alhaitham asked. “i highly doubt your old joints will let you catch up, senior.”
oh that is it!
with one leap of faith, kaveh threw himself at alhaitham, pinning him down to the ground. immediately, his fingers shot at the scribe’s ribs, clawing at them mercilessly and poking between each bone.
alhaitham, to his credit, was somewhat quiet about the whole ordeal, only to break out into loud laughter the second kaveh started to claw at his upper ribs.
“kaveheheheheh!”
“alhaitham!” kaveh snickered, tickling his roommate vigorously. “will you give me back my pencil?”
