Syndicate sibling AU HCs!!!!
Harmony and Corbeau are half-siblings, same father, different mothers.
Their father was never a part of either of their lives. He walked out on Corbeau's mother before when Corbeau was an infant, and Harmony's mother was a one-night-stand. Neither Corbeau nor harmony knew they had a sibling until fairly recently.
There's a 18 year age difference between them. Corbeau is 34, Harmony is 16.
They both had very rough childhoods. Corbeau's mother loved him and did all she could to provide for him, but she died when he was very young. He raised himself after that, constantly struggling for survival.
Harmony was given up for adoption at birth. She ended up growing up in the foster care system, and had some really horrific experiences. She aged out at 15 (I hc that in Kalos you can age out at 15), worked odd jobs for a couple of months before she earned enough money to buy a ticket to Lumiose, hoping for a fresh start.
Sometime after the post-game, Harmony wondered if she had any bio relatives besides her bio parents. Emma helped her track down old medical records and birth certificates, and surprise surprise, the leader of the rust syndicate is her older half-brother.
Harmony panicked. Corbeau freaked out too, at first, but pulled it together for Harmony's sake.
Corbeau felt and still feels a crippling sense of guilt about the way Harmony grew up. In his mind, he could've used his power and resources years ago and found her much earlier, before she suffered so much. Though logically he knows he couldn't have since he didn't even know she existed until like last year (much less that she was his sister), part of him can't help but blame himself for all the horrors she grew up in.
Corbeau was the first to initiate contact after the whole reveal (Harmony had tried to avoid him at first, thinking he was disappointed to have a sister like her). He felt a responsibility toward her, since he's the older sibling. They've been working on developing the sibling relationship they never got to have.
It's a little bit awkward at first, especially because of the age gap. They have a hard time relating to each other sometimes.
Because of such a large age gap, Corbeau is almost like a parent to Harmony rather than an older brother. Harmony doesn't mind. The closest thing she'd ever experienced to a parent were the Arbok she had as a young kid, and AZ, and neither of those two are around anymore... It's nice to have someone to look out for her again.
Even though Harmony's so much younger, she's hitting an unexpected growth spurt and is already two inches taller than Corbeau and roughly 1.5× his weight. She never lets him forget it.
Constant teasing and banter between the two. Corbeau likes to call Harmony "Cosette" due to the way she grew up. Harmony retorted by calling Corbeau "Jean Val Jean".
Corbeau really does his best to look out for his little sister and be her support system.
Harmony struggles with feeling inadequate. Corbeau absolutely adores her and it feels like she's one of the only things he still has hope for. He feels like he's the one not good enough for her.
